Do you have to see the Cross as Jewish, before you can understand it, as a Jew?

I did not post 1 Corinthians 15:1-5 ... that was your doing.

Yes, although it seems you may have missed the context.

My previous reference was/is 1 Corinthians 1:17-20

Which I addressed in context. However, an execution-stake that has long since rotted away has no power on its own. It was an instrument of torture and execution, not something that needs to be revered. Giving that instrument reverence is like giving reverence to the nehushtan. No one denied that looking at the bronze serpent afforded healing of the affliction of the children of Yisra`el, but no one who is discerning would say that the source of the healing was some fashioned piece of metal.

It's the message of what happened on that cross - and why, and how, and what for, and by Whom - that has importance, not the cross itself. The message has power, in concert with all else contained in the glad tidings of the Kingdom.

GedaliahMaegil's translation (in " quotes) of 1 Corinthians 1:18 (my translation from CF's ASV)

"The word of the cross, to those perishing, is foolishness;
to we being saved it is the power of Elohim.
" (previously posted by GedaliahMaegil)

1 Corinthians 1:17-20 (Concordant Literal Version ~ CLV)
17 For Christ does not commission me to be baptizing, but to be bringing the evangel, not in wisdom of word, lest the cross of Christ may be made void."
18 For the word of the cross is stupidity, indeed, to those who are perishing, yet to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
19 For it is written, I shall be destroying the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the intelligent shall I be repudiating."
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the discusser of this eon? Does not God make stupid the wisdom of this world?

WITHOUT THE CROSS THERE WOULD BE NO MESSAGE
Romans 1:16-17
16 For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile.
17 For in it is revealed how God makes people righteous in His sight; and from beginning to end it is through trust — as the Tanakh puts it, “But the person who is righteous will live his life by trust.” (Habakkuk 2:4; Proverbs 3:5-6)

No, there is no need to see the cross as anything other than a degrading method of slowly killing someone
Crucifixion was adopted by the Romans from the Persians and was used on those consider non-human is not Roman etc.

The only Jewish element is the curse found in Deuteronomy for anyone hung on a tree.
That emphasizes how degrading a death Jesus willingly endured..
That is true too.
