As US coronavirus cases surpass 4 million, medical experts urge to shut down and start over
Those of us who had the foresight to know this and abided by the rules are now going to have to deal with the consequences of the actions of those who were irresponsible and did not cooperate. Because of their irresponsibility, most of the sacrifices made by our society in general have been undone and we are back at square one.
It's hard for me to imagine that so many American adults can take on the attitude of an insolent, spoiled, bratty child when it comes to a health crisis, an actual pandemic, and put everyone's lives in jeopardy over their selfish wants.
And I don't believe any of them ever truly cared about the economy despite using that as the biggest excuse for wanting to go against the health safety measures being taken. Those of us who truly care about the economy understand that we need to take care of the health crisis in order for the economy to come back in a truly healthy (fiscally) way.
It's like that person at work who for whatever selfish reason decides to not call out sick when they are sick, but instead goes into the office, infects other people, doesn't get the rest they need, doesn't do their job well because they're sick, and then after 2 or 3 days of that ends up calling out sick for several days because their illness got worse from not taking care of themselves. Better off calling out sick for a day or two, resting and recovering, taking care of the body, then come back in when actually healthy. But for some reason, people do the foolish thing and exacerbate the problem.
You see it in pro sports too, for those who are fans - one of your team's best players gets hurt and some teams rush them back before they're fully healed, and then they get hurt again, this time out for even longer. If they should be out for 4 weeks, let them stay out 4 weeks or even 5 to fully heal, so that when they come back you won't lose them again. But they rush someone like that back in 2 or 3 weeks and without fail the person gets hurt their first few games back in, and THIS time they're out for 8 weeks or 12 weeks or even need surgery. Foolish!!!
Now we must deal with the foolishness of the selfish among our society. We need stricter laws and enforcement across the whole nation. Start fining people and lock them up if we have to. Most importantly, start pulling liquor and food licenses as NJ and NY have finally started doing, and pull whatever other businesses' licenses if they are breaking the rules/laws.
We could have been on pace with Europe, instead we are back to what the situation was in March for the hotspot states at that time. Difference is that the hotspot states at that time were blindsided and had to figure out their own guidance whereas the hotspot states now are in that position out of foolishness, mostly directly due to arrogance and spoiled behavior.
