When you die, does Jesus come or do you go?
Jesus said "I will come again" not "when you die I will come again".
John 14:1-3
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3
If I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am,
there you may be also. 4 And you know the way where I am going.”

1 Thess 4
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that
we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede
those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the
Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the
dead in Christ will rise first. 17
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Thess 1
5
This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering. 6 For after all it is
only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and
to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well
when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10
when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed.

2 Peter 3
3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with
their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4 and saying, “
Where is the promise of His coming? For
ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” 5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God
the heavens existed long ago and
the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. 7 But by
His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
8 But do not let this one
fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
10
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which
the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.

Matt 24
25 Behold, I have told you in advance. 26 So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out,
or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe
them. 27
For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
29 “But
immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 And
then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and
they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 And He will
send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
32 “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; 33
so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37
For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and t
hey did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
