To the OP:

Have you actually thought about Jesus words "sin no more" when he said that to a few people during his earthly ministry? Is it possible to "sin no more" while we are on earth? No it is not, that is quite obvious. So then what did Jesus mean? Well since we can't stop sinning completely (while we have earthly bodies), then we should probably do the next best thing which would be to avoid sin as best we can (with the Holy Spirit's help of course).

Read Romans 7 about ten times. Paul's(greatest Christian of all time) hates the fact that he continues to sin. Actually read Romans 5-8 for more details.

So basically it sounds like you don't believe the words of Jesus when He said “sin no more” two times (John 5:14) (John 8:11). That's your choice to believe that way, but I choose to believe the words of Jesus and not you. Remember, faith is the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). This means, I do not base my faith on my own experience but I base my faith on what God's Word says. For faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

Romans 7:14-24 is written from Paul's perspective of when he was a Pharisee while he was under the 613 laws of Moses (and while he was trying to be justified by the Law alone without God's grace). There is a difference between:

#1. Law Alone Salvationism via by following a distorted view of the 613 Laws of Moses in the OT (That had little to no grace).

vs.

#2. Being initially and foundationally saved by God's grace through faith in Christ (via the gospel message that we believe that Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and He was risen three days later for our salvation - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; And by our seeking forgiveness with the Lord Jesus - Romans 10:13) and then entering the “Sanctification Process” (God doing the good work through the believer to help them to put away grievous sin, to live holy, and do good works) by following the commands that come from Jesus and His followers in the New Covenant (or New Testament) (and not the Old Covenant).

Here, your really grasping at straws, because you're trying to use and/or change the definition of words to justify you're viewpoint. It seems like your trying to say that because it says "may have everlasting life" that Jesus is saying that God may or may not give a person eternal life by believing in Jesus. Are you saying If a person believes in Jesus he will have eternal life if he deserves it but he won't have everlasting life if he doesn't? That's the part that's unscriptural because nobody deserves it. We're all undeserving sinners, which is why forgiveness for our sins is what it's all about. In the right context these verses mean that God's will is for everybody who believes in Jesus to have everlasting life and be raised up at the last day. To say that some people who believe in Jesus will have eternal life and others who also believe in Jesus won't have eternal life is a misinterpretation of these passages, to say the least.

Actually, you are the one who is seeking to justify your own viewpoint. You throw away the words like “may” and “should” in John 6 in the King James Bible in favor of your own pet belief. I didn't do that. I simply believe these words in what they say plainly. For you are not explaining how these words fit in your belief.

When you read verses like John 6:47, you also have to read John 6:53 that says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you." (John 6:53). Jesus said in two chapters previously the following, "My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." (John 4:34). We are told that not everyone who says unto Him, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he that does the will of the Father (Matthew 7:21). The will of God (i.e. God the Father) is our sanctification (See: 1 Thessalonians 4:3).

In John 17:12 where it says "none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled." remember Jesus called Judas, the son of perdition, meaning the son of the devil. And, as He said in John 6" Have not I chosen you 12 and one of you is a devil? He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. For he it was that should betray Him, being one of the 12." The point being that Judas was never a true disciple from the beginning.

Two problems here.

#1. God chooses devils or evil men to be his disciples if you believe He chose Judas as a disciple with him already being a devil. But if this is so, then why did Jesus condemn the Pharisees for them being of their father the devil? According to what you said so far: Did not Jesus choose a devil to be his disciple?

#2. Judas did not really betray anyone because His loyalty was always to the evil one and God knew that. So the word “betray” in your Bible is a lie. You cannot betray anyone if you never were loyal to them in the first place.

The Psalms say that Judas was Jesus' familiar friend and Judas lifted up his heel against him (Psalms 41:9).

You said:
Jesus only chose him and kept him in order to fulfill the scriptures. It's not a case of being saved and then losing his Salvation. It's a case of never being saved in the first place.

While God did know ahead of time of Judas' betrayal, again you cannot betray anyone unless you were once loyal to him. Otherwise you can never truly betray them.

When speaking of the twelve (See: Matthew 10:5): Jesus called his disciples as sheep among wolves (which would have included Judas because He is among the twelve).

“These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying” (Matthew 10:5) .... “go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew 10:6) ...“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves...” (Matthew 10:16)

You said:
John talks of this kind of people in his epistle. "They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they had been of us; they would no doubt have continued with us. but they went out; that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." IJohn 2:19 So, they were lost because they weren't true saved Christians in the first place. So, again, not a case of being saved and losing Salvation. It's a case of not being saved in the first place.

This is not a universal truth in 1 John 2:19 as a reference to all believers. John was referring to a specific group of false believers who were gnostics (i.e. who thought they could sin and still be saved in the fact that sin was an illusion or non-existent - 1 John 1:8, and who denied the incarnation of Jesus Christ or the Word being made flesh - 1 John 4:3).

Here are several lists of verses that makes it absolutely clear that believers can fall away from the faith:

Here is a General List of Verses on How Believers Can Fall Away:

1 Samuel 16:14
1 Samuel 31:4
Ezekiel 18:24
Hebrews 3:12-14
Hebrews 4:11
Hebrews 6:4-9
Hebrews 10:26-30
Hebrews 12:15
1 Timothy 1:18-20
1 Timothy 4:1-7
Galatians 3:1-5
2 Peter 2:20-22
2 Peter 3:17
Matthew 13:18-23
1 Corinthians 10:12
2 Thessalonians 2:3

Now, do not misunderstand me, believers cannot lose their salvation (like they would a pair of car keys), but they can forfeit their salvation (i.e. they can willingly throw it away by rebelling against God). In fact,

Here is a list of believers who have forfeited their salvation:

Saul (1 Samuel 16:14) (1 Samuel 31:4)
Demas (2 Timothy 4:10)
The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)
Judas Iscariot (Psalm 41:9) (Luke 6:16) (Acts 1:25)
Hymenaeus and Philetus (2 Timothy 2:17-18)
Unnamed Christians destroyed by false teaching (2 Timothy 2:17-18)
Many Unnamed Disciples (John 6:66)
Some Younger Christian Widows (1 Timothy 5:14-15)
Some Christians Eager For Money (1 Timothy 6:8-10)
Ananias and Sapphira (Acts of the Apostles 5:1-11)

And here is a list of potential fallen believers:

The Servant Who is Not Looking For Him (Luke 12:45-46)
Recent Convert Who is a Potential Spiritual Leader (1 Timothy 3:6)
The Unforgiving in Heart (Matthew 6:14-15)
Luke Warm Unrepentant Believer (Revelation 3:14-22)
Fruitless Christians (John 15:1-10) (Matthew 25:14-30)
Widows That Live in Pleasure (1 Timothy 5:5-6)
Believers Whose Seed Fell Upon the Rocks (Luke 8:13)
Believers Whose Seed Was Choked by Thorns (Matthew 13:22)
Gentile Believer Who Did Not Have on a Wedding Garment (Matthew 22:1-14) (Revelation 19:7-8)
The Potential Fellow Believer Who Erred From the Truth & Was Converted Back (James 5:19-20)

Many love to quote from Paul to defend OSAS, but in reality, Paul is against Eternal Security. For Paul says,

  1. We can fall from grace (Galatians 5:4).

  2. We can be moved away from the hope (Colossians 1:23).

  3. We can be a castaway (1 Corinthians 9:27).

  4. We can be cut off just like the Jews if we do not continue in God’s goodness (Romans 11:20-22).

  5. We can sow to the flesh and reap corruption instead of sowing to the Spirit which reaps everlasting life. (Galatians 6:8).

  6. We can deny God by a lack of good works (Titus 1:16).

  7. We can shipwreck our faith (1 Timothy 1:19).

  8. We can deny the faith and be worse than an infidel if we do not provide for our own household (1 Timothy 5:8).

  9. We can err from the faith and pierce ourselves thru with many sorrows if we love and covet after money (1 Timothy 6:10).

  10. Hymnenaeus and Philetus have overthrown the faith of some (2 Timothy 2:18).

You said:
God even creates the wicked for the day of evil. Proverbs 16:4

God did not create evil people in the sense of setting out to make them evil. It was their choice or decision to be evil. God will one day resurrection the wicked and they will be destroyed in the Lake of Fire.

Most are going to encourage you that you can sin and still be saved on some level all because you have a belief alone on Jesus. Don't listen to them. Even the demons believe and tremble (James 2:19). Yes, we can be forgiven of our sin if we happen to stumble on occasion by confessing our sins to the Lord Jesus Christ (1 John 2:1) (1 John 1:9), but we should not have the mindset that we will always sin as a way of life or as a matter of fact. The Bible teaches that we can overcome grievous sin. Just read Galatians 5:24, 1 Peter 4:1-2, John 5:14, John 8:11, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Psalms 119:11, Romans 6:6-8, Romans 6:12, Romans 6:14, etc.).

Paul says if any man does not agree with the words of the Lord Jesus Christ and the doctrine according to godliness, they are proud and they know nothing (1 Timothy 6:3-4). James 4:6 says God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

In other words, we cannot justify grievous sin, but we must battle against grievous sin and seek to overcome it.
I believe that we will most certainly leave alot of sin when we truly are savec and trusting in Jesus he can help us overcome anything. But I dont believe anyone stops completely sinning when an unknown situation pops up and you do or say something wrong but you didn't mean to it just happens its still a sin. You repent and ask Jesus to forgive you and confess your sins. None of us will stop sinning in this world but there should be progress threw the process of sanctification that has started in us when we believe in Jesus. Would you agree or am i missing something?

Are you basing this belief of your own feelings, thoughts, and what you want to be true, OR are you basing this belief of what the Word of God plainly says? Try reading Galatians 5:24, and 1 Peter 4:1-2 for starters. How can these portions of Scripture be reconciled with your belief? Do you have to alter and change these verses in order to make them to fit your belief? I believe that these verses (among MANY verses) have to be changed to fit your belief here. But don't take my word for it. Just read the verses and check them out for yourself.

Did Jesus really mean, “sin no more” when he said that two people? (John 5:14) (John 8:11). I believe Jesus. Do you? Do you truly believe these words by Jesus? By what you said so far, I don't see how you can believe these words by Jesus.

If Jesus said “sin no more” and yet He really did not mean for us to “sin no more” then Jesus would be:

(a) Lying.
(b) Telling us to do something that is impossible as a cruel joke whereby we would get frustrated and thereby no longer obey what He says and thus give up on the faith altogether.
(c) An accomplice to our sin if He did not really say for us to not sin. For the opposite instruction to “sin no more” would be to sin. Can Jesus who is God agree with sin? Surely not. God is going to always tell you to not sin and to do what is good.

Have you ever heard of the verse that says,
“Be ye holy; for I am holy”? (See: 1 Peter 1:16).
Is this yet another verse we have to change because we don't like it?

Choose this day in whom you will serve.
Jesus says you cannot serve two masters.
For you will hate the one and love the other.

I agree with what he said in those verses I do but he said the lust of the flesh would you consider stubbing your toe and saying a curse word to not be a sin ? I am not saying this in the context of wilful sin. And I know he says to go and sin no more so does he mean all sin period no question even the smallest slip up on accident and your done ? Do you not sin ever anymore not once ? I do not want to go against the word of God and I am a new Christian but I just can't see how we can completely stop sinning even if it is something like what I mentioned.

Jesus does want us to stop sinning. Putting away sin is different for every believer. For example: The 144,000 are found without fault before the throne of God. For John says,

“And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.” (Revelation 14:3-5).

We do see other believers stumbling and making mistakes.

John says in 1 John 2:1 to “sin not” but if we happen to sin we have an advocate (i.e. Jesus Christ). Meaning, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Sanctification should take place after a person is saved by Justification.

There are 4 different aspects of salvation described in the Scriptures.

#1. Provisional Atonement (not "Limited Atonement").
(A 100% Work of God alone that can only be applied personally to an individual's life via by Justification and Sanctification).
This is Jesus paying the price for the sins of the entire world so as to offer mankind the free gift of salvation (if they so choose to accept it); Note: Christ's resurrection (to give us a new body not tainted by sin one day), and the ascension to the Father (after Christ telling Mary not to touch Him), and his entering the holy temple by his blood (to be our Heavenly High Priest) is also included in the Provisional Atonement, too. (For Provisional Atonement verses, see: John 1:29, 1 John 2:2, 1 Timothy 2:6, 2 Corinthians 5:19, Romans 5:6-8.).

#2. Justification (Initial Salvation, and or Foundational Salvation).
(The 1st synergistic work of GOD done in a believer).
Justification is the entrance gate to salvation, and it is the foundation of our salvation (by faith) upon which we stand. Justification is believing the gospel (Which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes it - Romans 1:16). According to 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: The gospel is you believing that Jesus Christ died for your sins, He was buried, and He had risen again three days later for your salvation (Note: Do not let anyone sell you on another gospel besides this one). Depending on a person’s access or exposure to the Word: Justification will also generally include receiving Jesus as your Savior (John 1:12), and calling upon the name of the Lord (i.e. confessing with your mouth the words: “Lord Jesus” or similar equivalent - Romans 10:9) as a part of seeking forgiveness of your sins with Him by way of prayer (Romans 10:13) (Luke 15:18-21) (Luke 18:9-14). This process of salvation is without the deeds of the Law or works because it is based upon God’s mercy and grace and His redemptive work. As a result: One is born again spiritually (Note: Born again by the Spirit, and born again by water (i.e. the Scriptures - Romans 10:17, 1 Peter 1:23)). A person is foundationally or ultimately saved by God’s grace because if they happen to sin on rare occasion in their Christian walk, they do not do a good work to absolve that sin, but they confess of their sins to Jesus in order to be forgiven of that sin (1 John 1:9) (1 John 2:1) (Hebrews 4:16) (For Justification verses, see: Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 4:1-6, Titus 3:4-7, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Luke 18:9-14, Romans 5:1-2).

#3. Sanctification (The Next Step or Phase in the Salvation Process).
(The 2nd synergistic work of God done in a believer).
Sanctification is the next step or phase in Salvation for a believer who lives out their faith; This is the work of God moving in a believer's life so as to help them to live holy, and to do good works and to put away the lusts of the flesh. These good works are the works of God done through the believer, and so all boasting or praise is given to the Lord. Therefore, there is no boasting in one's own work because they are ultimately the works of God done through the believer. A believer today who obeys the Lord looks to the commands of Jesus and His followers within the New Testament primarily. For believers today are not under the 613 Laws of Moses as a whole package deal (even though certain laws have carried over into the New Testament). Basically all ceremonial laws and judicial laws in the Old Testament no longer apply. For example: Believers do not have to keep the Saturday Sabbath, circumcision, dietary laws, animal sacrifices, holy days, etc.; However, believers must keep God's Moral Laws like: Do not murder, do not steal, do not covet, do not lie, do commit adultery, etc.; Two of the greatest commands that we should focus on daily is to love God and love our neighbor which is more fully described in Mark 12:29-31. We need to worship or adore the Lord our God, preach the gospel, help the poor, love the brethren, love our enemies, and live holy lives, etc. (For Sanctification verses, see: James 2:24, James 2:17-18, Titus 1:16, Hebrews 5:9, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, Hebrews 12:14, Romans 8:1 (KJV), 1 Corinthians 16:22, Romans 8:13, etc.).

#4. Glorification (The Future Salvation of the Truly Faithful Believer).
(A 100% Work of God alone that can only be applied personally to an individual's life via by Justification and Sanctification).
Glorification is when God takes the believer home to be with Him in His kingdom and He gives Him a new resurrected body that is not tainted by sin. This process of salvation (in being taken home) is a by product automatically for those believers who properly applied Justification and Sanctification to their lives (For Glorification verses, see: 1 Peter 5:4, 1 Peter 1:4, 1 Corinthians 15:51-57, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Romans 13:11, Philippians 3:20-21, Hebrews 9:28).

Conclusion:

Justification, and then Sanctification is what we as believers need to be focused on. For if we are justified, and sanctified (which is only made possible by the Provisional Atonement), then we will be glorified.

Thank you for clearing that up i appreciate it and I agree with what you have said here. I do not want to sin anymore not in the slightest and I do not want to fall for the temptations of our flesh. I just want to have victory over it through Jesus Christ. Thank you for what you have said and no i have not believed a false gospel that is what i believe fully.
God bless you!

I believe I have put all my faith in Jesus and am not leaning on the world's understanding but what if im like you were and im not actually will one say Jesus help me to completely if im not yet even tho i believe I am ? Im sorry if my question is confusing im just wondering.

For me, I had to be taken to a place where I could fully surrender to Christ. Ask yourself some hard questions if you are worried about having one foot in and one foot out. Count the cost, as Christ said: Luke 14:28

This is an example of course, but it is quite a necessary one if you want to find out for yourself.

Personally, I was lead by God to a place of complete brokenness and was about to commit suicide until He intervened by posing a question: "Will you allow Me to help you?" Notice it's still a question of choice. We have to decide for ourselves to follow Jesus Christ. He will most certainly help us along the way if we are serious about Him. I hope this helps. :yellowheart:

I get you it's just not something I say to people often is what I meant. Felt a bit odd. I love people of course though.

I try to speak to people nicely but on here I get agitated more easily. I can lose my cool sometimes. There's no excuse really.

I laughed when I saw this. I was answering the general question "How do I love strangers or people I barely know?", not whether you were acting in love, which from your words and manner, you are. So, we're good. I lose my temper, too. I am only troubled when one listens to Satan, who tells you the other is a sinner, deserves your condemnation, is God's enemy so your hatred is holy, and murder is what God wants. He fools people into justifying the hatred towards one another, and that love is weakness, kindness is weakness, it's a war and time to fight, even kill.

If you look at Anderson's interactions, he says, "if I could push a button that would kill a gay person, I would push it until it broke!!!!" He has committed murder in his heart. Buddhism teaches the same - that our thoughts lead to our words lead to our actions. He will probably say, "I never killed anyone," not physically, and says he isn't condoning anyone to kill, because he will be held liable legally. But it is an intense hatred, he lies by saying all gays are pedophiles, and feels justified.

That is not to say he doesn't ppreach any truth, but his hatred of gay people is a common theme. When Fred Phelps appeared, people thought, "his church is just his family." Anderson has 10k subscribers. That I find troubling.

But pray about it. The Holy Spirit will answer if you are open to hear him.

I just want to have victory over it through Jesus Christ. Thank you for what you have said and no i have not believed a false gospel that is what i believe fully.
God bless you!

You are most welcome.
Also, here is a list (based on Scripture) that may help you in your future walk with Christ in being loyal to Him.

Ways to overcome grievous sin by God's Word
and by the power of Jesus Christ:

(Written to the Believer in Jesus Christ who may struggle with grievous sin):

#1. Remove yourself from sinful environments:

Remove yourself from sinful environments (if possible) and or get rid of things that cause you to sin. In Genesis: Joseph had literally ran away from the temptation of sexual sin (Genesis 39:11-12). One of the commands in the New Testament is: "Flee fornication." (1 Corinthians 6:18) (Note: Paul says that what he had written should be regarded as the commandments of the Lord - 1 Corinthians 14:37) (KJV). Sometimes this running away is merely a means of escape. God provides a way of escape for us to run to so that we can bear the temptation and get through it. For 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

#2. Pray to God so as not to be tempted:

Pray to God so as not to be tempted. It is part of the Lord’s prayer for you to pray so as not to be tempted into sin (Matthew 6:12). God will guide and protect you if you are serious in praying for this. "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation" (Matthew 26:41). In fact, fasting will help you with this, as well. Being enslaved to sin is a demonic influence. While being enslaved to sin does not mean a Christian is possessed by a demon, we learn that certain demon possessions could not be driven out only by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). So if demon possession at the most intense level can only be healed (by the casting out of the demon) by both prayer and fasting, then it is a sure bet that fasting and praying to overcome sin will also help a believer overcome sin (Which is a demonic influence).

#3. Obey God’s righteous ways:

Obey God’s righteous ways. The more you love God and love others and obey His Word and stay in His Word and pray, the more you will not even have a chance to sin or do the wrong thing. But the more you walk in God's Word by the Spirit you will not fulfill the lusts of flesh. "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." (Galatians 5:16). "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." (Romans 13:14). "But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." (Romans 6:22).

#4. When you are tempted, quote Scripture:

When you are tempted, quote Scripture. When Jesus was tempted by the devil, He quoted Scripture to defeat the devil (Matthew 4:4) (Matthew 4:7) (Matthew 4:10). So when some specific sin is bothering you, find all the verses you can that are victory verses over that particular sin. A good general verse (Especially if you are tempted to look at women in lust if you find yourself in public around a lot of people) is, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” (Psalms 23:1). You can say these verses to yourself silently under your breath (with nobody hearing).

#5. Ask for prayer from other God fearing Christians:

Ask for prayer from other God fearing Christians or Godly Christians to help you to overcome certain sins. The Scriptures say, bear ye one another's burdens and thus fulfill the Law of Christ. So seek true fellowship and ask for their help. In 1 John 5, we see Christians praying for a believer who is struggling to overcome a sin (that they are confessing). "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death." (1 John 5:16). A faithful Christian shall ask God to give their fellow Christian life (victory) in overcoming their sin that they are confessing (i.e. sin that is confessed is not a sin that leads unto death).

#6. Hide God’s Word in your heart:

Hide God’s Word in your heart. Memorize Scripture. David said he hid God’s Word within his heart so that he may not sin against the Lord. "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." (Psalms 119:11).

#7. Confess of your sins:

Confess of your sins. 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

#8. Suffer in the Flesh:

1 Peter 4:1 says he that has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin (Note: Also see verse 2). We should suffer in the flesh by:

  1. Resisting during times of temptation.

  2. Fasting.

  3. Being persecuted for Christ’s sake.

I have written other points with Scripture that need fleshing out a bit more. But hopefully these things I have written will help.

Love, peace, and joy be to you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

May His blessings abound to you greatly.

I think Pastor Anderson had about 150k subscribers, unless that was a typo? His channel was removed a few days ago completely off YouTube. The thing is, Pastor Anderson believes what he believes. He believes the only way people become homosexual is by being a reprobate. Someone who God has rejected because they rejected God too many times. According to the doctrine they are given over to a reprobate mind to do those things. He believes they are dangerous and unsaveable.

I have never settled on the reprobate doctrine and have shifted on it multiple times. I definitely don't think it's an implausible interpretation of Romans 1 and other passages. I also don't think it is Romans 1 is clear enough on this issue to make a concrete decision. Especially when it affects salvation.

Pastor Anderson is a big reason I got saved. Not him exactly but his preaching of the Bible.

I wouldn't say I follow Pastor Anderson, this will sound cliche but I try to follow God. I have watched a lot of his sermons but not so much for a while. I branched out and found I liked a more God-centred message mainly as opposed to sin focused. Both are important though.

The thing with love is, when I read about God in the Bible he's a merciful, loving God but he also has wrath and anger. Jesus in the Bible is stern a lot of the time. I don't get the idea that everything's about love from the Bible.

Then you've got who are we to love? You can argue all people and I don't really have an argument against it. It's a valid interpretation to me. However as I have said the Bible does talk about hate. Psalm 139 spefically states "I hate them" talking about God's enemies. The confusing thing I recently realised is.

It says:

Psalms 139:21-22 KJV
(21) Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
(22) I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

So some people argue yes we are to hate enemies of God. But this mentions that they are also David's enemies "mine enemies". I am not saying there's a contradiction but if they're our enemies then should we not love them however this verse says "I hate them".

Look at this verse from Psalms 137
7Remember, Lord, what the Edomites did

on the day Jerusalem fell.

“Tear it down,” they cried,

“tear it down to its foundations!”

8Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction,

happy is the one who repays you

according to what you have done to us.

9Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

Now literally think about this: Does God want you to grab the babies of your enemy by the foot, and bash their heads open on the rocks?

This link explains the context
What does Psalm 137:9 mean when it says, “Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks”? | GotQuestions.org

It is very important to look at context that is historical, what had been happening, who is writing, to whom, and why.

So one cannot justify killing the babies of your enemies with this verse unless they want to kill and then blame God.

Not only will their be a penalty on Earth, one will stand before God, and explain to him what you honestly believe he said.

Satan used Scripture to tempt Christ. That is very important to remember. And while Christ was harsh, look at when - to the Pharisees, who were thought by others to be holy, who hated Jesus because he undermined their authority, exposed their unholiness, said they knew the Scriptures yet swallowed a camel and strained a gnat (ignored rules of mercy, forgiveness. but stressed very minor rules - such as honoring the Sabbath by counting the number of foitsteps one took.) He calls them snakes, viper's brood? Why? Because the "blind guides" lead people away from God.

He was angered at the Temple, using a whip to clear the Temple, and this was out of context for Jesus, so clearly they were committing a grave offense, turning the Temple into a marketplace. One belief is that the money changers were exploiting the poor who wanted to enter the Temple. But it is such a memorable passage because this was not Jesus' usual demeanor, and not meant to give a hall pass to go off on a self righteous rant on Facebook.

Is it difficult to get angry? no. It is hard to try to see the otger's point of view.
Is it easy to curse back at those who curse you, or bless those who curse you and pray for them?
Is it tough to think you are better than someone else according to how you believe they should live, or to acknowledge that you are also imperfect and humble yourself before others?
Is it tough to condemn others, or to forgive?
Is it tough to have condemnation, or mercy?
Is it tough to not want to get involved or believe it's not your problem, or to offer help to a stranger in need?
Is it tough to damn others to hell and offer yourself heaven, or admit all, including yourself, don't deserve heaven?
Is it tougher to ignore or even support discrimination that doesn't apply to you, or see commonality in the other, and the sin of oppressing another?
Is it tough to seek revenge, or turn tge other cheek?
Is it tougher to use the bible to support your opinions, or to ask the question, pray, listen to the holy spirit and seek his truth?

This is why "tough" love is not tough; it's weakness, and why to many people, we are not known for our love for one another, but for our hypocrisy, our deceitfulness, our villianization, our self righteousness, or haughtiness, etc.

And it turns people off from Christianity, and away from God. When the person then pats themselves on the back, saying, "if the world hates you, remember they also hated Jesus," thinking they are doing something right, they will stand before God and answer for it.

"Whosever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Acts 2:21 Anybody and everybody can be saved regardless of their sin or their degree of sin. All they have to do is call upon the name of the Lord, (Jesus) and repent of their sins and Jesus will receive them with open arms. What sins each of us may or may not be guilty of is actually irrelevant. It's that little word "repent" that people are afraid of. But it's important to tell people that they are sinners so they can get saved. People have to acknowledge that they are sinners before they can be saved.

Jesus said in one place, "The world cannot hate you but me it hates because I testify of it that the works thereof are evil." So Jesus did come to tell the world that everybody is an evil sinner, but not for the purpose of condemning them for those sins. As he said in John 3:17 "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him should be saved."

"Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for His friends." John 15:13 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
God lovingly sent Jesus into the world to die for our sins and take our punishment upon Himself. And Jesus willingly and Lovingly gave His life to save us. Therefore, the person who preaches Jesus can never really be a judgmental hypocrite because in preaching Jesus he is not condemning people for their sins he is telling people how to be saved from their sins. It is Love to preach Jesus even if the people you are preaching to are offended by it.

So, why do so many people reject Jesus even though they know and have been told, as I am telling you right now, that it will make the difference between burning in Hell or living in a Heavenly paradise? Well, Jesus answers that question for us: "This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light lest His deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth Truth cometh to the Light that his deeds may be made manifest that they are wrought in God." JOHN 3:18-20. So, it's because they don't want to have to repent of their sins. They don't want the Light of the world, Jesus, to expose them for the evil sinners they actually are instead of the righteous people they try to make themselves out to be.

What sins each of us may or may not be guilty of does not determine our place in Heaven. Peoples acceptance of Jesus is what determines they're saved have a place in heaven, and peoples rejection of Jesus is what determines that they will be condemned to be punished for their own sins. Because they didn't accept Jesus' atonement for their sins.

It helps to be more specific.

I've never understood the concept of a Bachelor Party that, before marrying the person you wNt to commit to, yoy celebrate your freedom with strippers, sometime prostitutes. I would never marry someone with that attitude, yet, it is common.

Another worldly view is a man's sexual prowess (how many women he has had sex with) determines his manliness.

Another is that men can have as much sex as they want, but if women do, they are harlots.

Another is wealth, and acquiring wealth by any means, then flaunting it, and telling poor people they just don't work hard, the myth of meritocracy.

Another once was that men who are married can have a mistress.

Another is getting even, that if you ate wronged, an eye for an eye.
I think Pastor Anderson had about 150k subscribers, unless that was a typo? His channel was removed a few days ago completely off YouTube. The thing is, Pastor Anderson believes what he believes. Pastor Anderson is a big reason I got saved. Not him exactly but his preaching of the Bible.

You may want to watch this video discussing Romans:

With anything he says, I say, the video says, posters say, consult the Holy Spirit. What surprises me about CF is so much of it is a debate of this verse vs that verse. As I said, Satan misused the Scripture by quoting it. Jesus knew it well enough to respond, But it is often misused, misquoted, quoted out of context, looked at superficially, or the translations ignored.

So, I am surprised that few peoole seek the Holy Spirit. I have long conversations with God, and the Holy Spirit responds in a number of ways. When I pray, I listen. Today, I was praying about my financial worry. I went into a nearby donut shop that had lottery tickets, all sold out, but a guy was buying a homeless man some coffee, saying, "hey, remember how God takes care of the birds and the bees? Just trust..." I could just call it a coincidence, but clearly it wasn't.

We can seek guidance as well through prayer, praying in tongues, and listening to the small voice in our head, or whomever the Spirit chooses to use.

Like Adam and Eve? They weren't intentionally going to disobey and eat fron the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve got tempted, Adam, too, and because they weren't willfully sinning....wait...I don't remember them getting a pass, even when they threw someone else under the bus.

Again, not sure what you are talking about.

So basically im at a loss right now ive heard that if i keep sinning im not saved even if its not willful sinning. And ive heard that it doesn't matter if i willfully sin or not your still saved. Ive also heard that if its my own will to stop sinning, that means its not the holy spirit helping me which makes me someone who is basing Salvation on just my works not Jesus death and resurrection on the cross. Can anyone help explain because in the bible some verses make it seem like without works we aren't saved but that you dont need to have any works and your saved. Im just confused and need some guidance with this. Thank you all God bless.
My advice to you as a baby believer is to not come to this forum. It is filled with the enemy. The father of the lie and confusion is all over this place.
That being said, when you repent and are born again,God puts His Holy Spirit in you.He works to conform you to the image of Christ. If you are born again, you are less and less going to want to grieve the Holy Spirit with sin.You will not willfully sin,and if (and when) your old man (nature) sneaks one in on you, you will feel that grief and conviction from Holy Spirit and desire to repent.
Works do not save us,we can only be saved through the grace God has extended to us (us being all who will believe)through the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ for our sins, and our faith in that finished work.
Our own works come after our salvation,BECAUSE we are saved.
None of us are perfected upon salvation and 2nd birth, that will come when we are with the Lord of Lords out of this world. We all will still accidentally sin,and will be repentant if we are truly saved.God corrects those he loves, and if you ask him to search your heart and correct you,He will. It might not be pleasant, but if you ask Him humbly,He will lovingly show you your sin.And when you repent (turn from it)and ask His forgiveness,He is faithful and just to forgive.
If you are not willfully sinning,God will help you if you ask.
If a person continues to willfully sin after Yeshua paid the price, you really have to question that person's understanding of the Gospel, and yes...their salvation.
As far as losing your salvation, the Word says no one can take it from you. But you can backslide to the point of being reprobate and living as an unbeliever, which is a very dangerous place to be.I've been there, and God did use certain things to bring me back, and it was a very dark and frightening experience, and I praise Him for it!!!
But anyway lil bro,I suggest you find a local group or teacher to learn from, and not rely on this site until you are a mature believer. Blessings in Jesus!

@God is good777

When I rededicated my life to Christ in 2010, I started to talk on various different Christian forums over the years. The key to not be convinced by what is wrong by others on forums is to:

#1. Do not compromise on moral standards or goodness.
#2. Ask God for the understanding on Scripture.
#3. Compare Scripture with Scripture (Look at the context, and cross references).
#4. Your English Bible (King James Bible) should not conflict with what the original languages say.
#5. Always be open or willing to change (if a certain belief you hold to may be wrong). God will in time show you the truth if you keep asking. For there are certain beliefs that I have changed over time because I was open to receiving what Scripture said on the matter.

Anyways, some may discourage you to talk on Christian forums; But I know that if I did not talk on forums, I would not have learned the things that I did today. Granted, everyone learns in a different way, but I find my best education in learning God's Word is by discussion and debate with others over what His Word says. Yes, you should get to know your Bible. Study it diligently. 2 Timothy 2:15 in the KJV says to study to shew (show) yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not be ashamed. But discussing on Christian forums challenges: Well, it I believe that such a thing challenges us to search out the Scriptures for ourselves by discussing certain topics or issues in God's Word. Engaging with other believers is a good way to rightly divide and get in the fight and to learn, and it helps us to make more friends in Christ.

The thing you want to guard against the most is not justifying sin like most in the church do today. Believers today think they can do evil things like being lazy for God (not do good works), or sinning, etc (and be in His Kingdom). What servant of the king can be lazy and disloyal without the king being angry at them?

“And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 25:30).

5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” (John 15:5-6).

“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” (Titus 1:16).

In other words, having good works in your life and not justifying sin is about you truly knowing God.

Please pay careful attention to what this following passage says.
For it will determine what type of Christian you will be.

3 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” (1 John 2:3-4).

Verse 3 is saying that if we keep His commandments we know the Lord.
Verse 4 says that the person who says they know the Lord and they do not keep His commandments, they are a liar and the truth is not in them. What “truth” is not in them? Jesus. For John 14:6 says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Some falsely teach that you can be out of fellowship with the Lord and still be saved. But 1 John 5:12 says:

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1 John 5:12).

So in order to have life (eternal life), you have to abide in the Son; And in order to have the assurance that we know the Lord (i.e. Jesus or the Son), we have to examine our life and find that we are keeping His commandments and not breaking them. This would be the commands in the New Testament that come from Jesus and His followers and not the 613 Laws Old Testament Laws given to Israel.

Now, many will say that you can either sin or not do any good for God in this life and you are still saved. Don't listen to them. Yes, we are initially and foundationally saved by God's grace through faith in the 1st step in the salvation process (i.e. Believing that Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and He was risen three days later for our salvation - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and by seeking forgiveness with the Lord Jesus - Romans 10:13, Luke 15:17-21, Luke 18:9-14, Hebrews 4:16, Proverbs 28:13, Psalms 51, 1 John 2:1, 1 John 1:9) (which is an aspect of salvation that is without the deeds of the Law), and we can confess of sin to be forgiven of sin if stumble into sin on occasion, but we then must enter the 2nd step or aspect of the salvation process called “Sanctification” (a.k.a. Progressive Sanctification) and live holy by God's power. We must progressively be drawing closer to God in our holy walk with Him. We cannot justify sin, but we must battle and fight against it. For abiding in grievous sins (like hate, adultery, theft, lying, etc.) without seeking forgiveness with the Lord and without seeking to overcome them in this life means we are not saved. No faithful servant of the king is disloyal to the king and accepted by the king. The Lord Jesus is looking for followers and not those who have a faith like that of demons (James 2:19).

I do Desire to live for God and to not sin more and more I want to turn away from it completely and I pray for strength and help and for His will to be done. What would be considered good works ?
