I would be willing to bet the church you are probably referencing would say you aren’t a “true Christian.” Why should I believe you represent Christianity but not them? Maybe you have the religion wrong and they are the accurate example of Christianity.

Personally I think the only true example of christianity is a tiny parish of orthodox christians in the rural country of northern greece. Like.. 40 people, tops.

(I'm joking, obviously. The only true example of christianity is every self-identifying christian member of christianforums. It is against the rules to say otherwise.)

I get that you want to go soft on your own group. I'm sure we all do.

Just pointing out how picking an outrage here and an outrage there is a strategy to tarnish a whole movement. It this duplicitous strategy can easily be deployed against Christianity with similar results. Its a double edged sword that people are swinging pretty wildly right now.

You play a 'BLM person says 2+2=5 card', I play a 'church leader molests girl scout' card. Who has the deeper deck? Hard to say. Do we really want to find out?

Not sure what that means or why it matters, but kudos for successfully derailing the thread away from BLM and onto an attack on Christianity.

What have these people entering Grace church done to deserve this kind of treatment? What kind of person does it take to scream obscenities at the good people of Grace Church as they walk in peacefully? They are yelling about saving the kids while subjecting children to verbal abuse! Its all about how we use the cherry picked outrage du jour to tarnish entire movements. When I turn the same spotlight on your favorite movement... well then it becomes clear alla sudden how bankrupt that tactic is.

Who's trying to tarnish an entire movement? Are you reading the OP's mind? And why would BLM need tarnishing? Everybody with half a brain already knows what they're about, and it's not "black lives".

This is where we show the living Christ.

We can disagree all day long about politics and vote for those we feel best, defend our nation with a standing army and support the rule of law...

but when it comes to being persecuted explicitly for being Christian and attending church with our families, that's where every action we take is to show Christ... and vengeance is Mine saith the Lord - not ours to mete out.
