Hannah, your position may well be the right one but you need to be super sure.

You need to know if your conviction to wait in hope is coming from faith or something else.

You will need to seek mature believers in person (not on CF) and lay out the situation and pray/fast over it with them.
Thanks, Carl, Bless you, brother.

or, could it be they are not truly born again?

A great possibility as seen often.

Repentance seems to be daily for the believer.
Gets to be painful but, required and desired.

You are not God!!!!!!

I certainly am not God. And, being merely human, everything I said might be 100% wrong.

But, if you don't want advice, why do you keep posting all these threads?

Clearly the situation worries you. Perhaps you are looking for some other kind of help, such as might be found in the SMR subforum? Separation and Marriage Restoration

Psalm 34.
Unrepentant adultery might lead to division of property, alimony and child support. There are also risks of paternity lawsuits and sexually transmitted disease from fornication and adultery.

Jesus advised against adultery:

Matthew 5 (WEB)
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ Exodus 20:14 28 but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. 30 If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

31 “It was also said, ‘Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce,’ Deuteronomy 24:1 32 but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.

Psalm 34.

All sins are forgiven judicially. However unrepented sin blocks fellowship with God and stops the flow of many blessiings. It will never destroy a relationship a believer has with God. Once born into Gods family we are His children forever! But living in unrepentant sin earns us the wages of sin and that is living in a state of death in our soul. It could also lead to premature death of the unrepentant as it brings shame to the name of God!

Unrepentant sin is always a terrible place to live in!

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin: for his seed remaineth in him, and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3:9 (NCPB)

No second chance? - one tiny sin and you are cast into eternal punishment ? Walk in every way in the perfection of Christ or else... is that the message you bring?

If you die without repenting, you go to hell.
There is no space for sinners in Heaven. Your sins must be forgiven first before you enter.

But everyone is going to die with some kind of unrepentant sin. If you get in an argument with someone, or steal a pen and then you die in a car accident on the way home, and you would have repented later on but you did not get a chance to, do you go to hell then? Sinner cannot get into heaven so that is why Jesus died----we are made sinless through Him! We are never going to be not sinners!
