John 15:18-25
We are told multiple times the world will hate us because it hates the one that we are supposed to follow.
Shock level that a worldly company would side with worldly people. 0 on a scale of 1-10.
If you expect to be liked by the world..... read the warnings that you wont be liked again. We can choose the world, or we can choose Christ.
For those two choices there is also warning.
Mark 8:36
The world, will always do what the world does, love the darkness, want to remain in that darkness, for it hates the light.
IF one is truly walking in love and in light, the world will hate them. It will "love" them as long as they recieve something worldly, as it loved Jesus when He offered healing and food....... but when the offer was of righteousness.... they wanted to kill Him.
If the world loves us, we shoukd really question ourselves as to why.
Is it because, we are just like the world and should wonder about our salvation... or is it because we offer material gain. Have we sacrificed the principles and truths of our Father to be more pleasing to those around us?
That is not to say that IF you are hated, that you are right with God. There is a right way to bring the truth, light, love AND word of God to the world.... being a jerk beating them over the head with it, is NOT walking in love.
I can love someone I disagree heavily with. I can remain firm, in my stance, but gentle in my dealings with one that has the same creator as I, that is lost, as too was I. Compassion to the fact they are blind and do not know what they do.
I DO believe that MANY "Christians" out there use the sins of others as an excuse to justify their own hatred of that group... or people in general.
1 John 4:20
It is a heart issue that many excuse, twisting the word of God to justify the unchanged state of their own heart.
There are things that ARE wrong that would give the world plenty if ammo to claim it as "hate" but IF we walk in love... we wont lash out returning hate for hate, but countering hate with love, just as the one we claim to follow......
John 18:23
If we lash out, the world has plenty more ammo to accuse us of hate... because we responded back with it.
Are there times to be angry?
Absolutely, but it is ONLY right when that anger is righteous anger. Righteous anger, rarely is righteous if we are mad becase WE are under attack, not because someone attacks the house of our Father.
