Eschatology, in our day confirms our faith in Jesus is true, because like the disciples in their day as eye witnesses, we are eye witnesses to those things of the end times prophecies, like Israel a nation again, Jerusalem back in the hand of the Jews. And encourages us that the time of our redemption is very near. Even at the door.

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

Eschatology is fascinating. But I worry it can become a kind of gnosticism, so that the elite few are in "the know." That might be harnless enough, but it could (possibly) divert one's attention from the hard work of following Christ and embodying the faith. Besides, no matter which position ends up being accurate, we all have to live today loving God and neighbor.

End times should be of concern to those that dont believe in God.

For me, i believe in Partial Preterism anyway as scripture, especially Revelation, is grossly Misinterpreted and Misunderstood.

Trust in Jesus!

It is not a question of knowing eschatology, but rather a question of being familiar with All of the Bible, both the Old and the New testaments.

If God did not think it was important He would not have given John the vision. Those who say don't read any portion of scripture because it somehow may not pertain to you are not giving you sound advice or direction. Eschatology is about revealing who Christ is and what our future with Him is. He is the victorious God and we are His children. As some have put it, it is a glimpse of the promise we have already received and have but not quite have yet. It is an interesting way to put it. I believe in a rapture before the tribulation but what if I am wrong. There are many good Christians on all sides of this and in no way am I so arrogant to proclaim the interpretation I have come to is the correct one. Be prepared either way. If God does not rapture His Church He will remain with us to the end of the age just as He promised.

How can we watch if we don't know what we're watching for?

Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Mark 13:35-37

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-6

I have always found the end of the world interesting. I'm wondering what you all personally feel is the importance of knowing eschatology? Because some theologians will say no just skip it since you probably won't be around when it happens.

As the Holy Spirit was sent by the Lord, the Head of the Body, to guide us into ALL truth, then we can be assured that He will clarify this great truth also.

And as all truths are concerning Christ, His character and His purposes, then we can be assured that it is very important to understand all of God`s purposes from the beginning to the end.

BTW we are only at the stage of the `end of the Gentiles ruling.` There is still much more to go.

Happy to discuss any thoughts on `eschatology with you.`

Oh and the benefits are - that we will come to the maturity of knowing the Lord & His purposes, and thus be ready to go and be with Him, (caught away). (Eph. 4: 13)

And also we wont be wandering tossed to & fro by every wind of doctrine, but become overcomers. (Eph. 4: 14, Rev. 3: 210

Good to know WHERE we are going and thus not get tricked.

For me, it was never about the end of the world, but understanding the context of why Jesus Christ came to die for us and be resurrected to eternal glory and what followed soon after. There is an everlasting promise given to us of new heavens and new earth (Isa 66:22) that will endure forever and all mankind will acknowledge Him; a message written throughout scripture Old and New. So to understand that whole context of this gospel is to understand that there are layers to the word of God that reveal revelation about Jesus, or in most cases, have an awareness that those revelations are there, only that they are "sealed," and the result in a millennia are differing interpretations of this sealed truth. Ironically, the amount of eschatological views which has only increased confusion of scripture, is biblical.

A human being can certainly live and abide by the moral teachings of Jesus and ethical absolutes Christianity as a whole provides in its foundations for mankind, and there is nothing wrong with that, I would be happy to have lived in that layer, but, there are deeper layers to scripture that I cannot in good conscience dismiss. The awareness that there is a deeper revelation to Jesus and the gospel that I do continue to this day search and pray to be revealed to me. It's those big questions, and my journey into making sense of it has given my relationship with The Almighty and meaning to the big questions substance, and for better or worse, a greater appreciation for Truth.

Jesus taught us to watch for the signs of His return.

So at the very least you will know what those signs are when they happen.

Understanding the end times in a contextual and historical based way can help you a lot in life.

Though I can not help, but have been taught that all of the end times of the Bible and promised of the Lord Jesus Christ already returning, negates me away from ever having to worry about the end times.

Where I can live a life knowing that today is today, and tomorrow is tomorrow. We should love like Jesus Christ had taught us.

Love God and Love man. I believe it is every persons right to believe how they are going to however.

It doesn’t mean you have to submit to anyone else’s view and leaves an open door for people to think freely.

Be it a future event, or how ever they choose. It is not for me to tell anyone what to choose however up to the individual themselves how they will believe.

This is one thing I do know. Jesus Christ’s kingdom is not of this world! Otherwise his servants would fight.

Thank you for reading and may God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you on your walk through the spirit by faith and the grace given!

The benefits of knowing the TRUTH about the Lord's Return and all
the associated events (eschatology) was not much for people living
in 100AD or 500AD or 1000AD or 1500AD... but it is critical for those
who are the Last Saints... called the "wise virgins" in Mat 25:1-13 or
the Last Saints following the False Prophet in the Great Tribulation
"Kingdom of Heaven" [Mat 25:1] or the last "wheat and tares"
called the ten "kings/horns" in Daniel 7 and Rev 17 or the
Last "wheat and tares" called the "ten horns" in Dan 2:44
