They are calling for less law and order. Right up until the protestors come to their neighborhood.

From Fox News:
Former Vice President Joe Biden called the protests in response to the death of George Floyd “utterly American,” but condemned the “needless destruction” and violence that broke out across the country on Saturday night.
...
“Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It’s an utterly American response,” he said. “But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.”

Biden condemns riots over George Floyd death, calls for end to 'needless destruction'

And BTW:

The founder of St. Paul’s Black Lives Matter chapter denounced the violent protesters who blocked a major interstate and attacked police officers Saturday night in the Twin Cities, saying they did a disservice to the officers trying to maintain order and that their actions did nothing to further the group’s goals.

Rashad Turner, who leads Black Lives Matter in St. Paul, tells TIME that he blames much of the violence on people who he says weren’t from the area.

“There were people outside of the community I didn’t recognize,” he says. “They were doing stupid stuff, and it’s something we don’t tolerate.”

Black Lives Matter Leader Condemns Violence at St. Paul Protest

So who's behind it?

A trio of right-wing extremists with military backgrounds have been busted for plotting riots at George Floyd protests in Las Vegas — part of a plan to overthrow the government, according to federal prosecutors.

Army reservist Andrew T. Lynam Jr., 23, former Navy man Stephen T. Parshall, 35, and former Air Force man William L. Loomis, 40, were being held on $1 million bond each on terrorism-related charges.

The trio were part of the “boogaloo” movement, “a term used by extremists to signify coming civil war and/or fall of civilization,” prosecutors said in a release.

Where is Joe Biden or any Democratic leaders?

Joe Biden has been in his basement, following the Trump Administration's own CDC guidelines and choosing not to follow this President's example of endangering the lives of his supporters by holding mass political rallies for his personal gratification!

Given that the overwhelming majority of the 50,000 Americans that tested positive for CORVID-19 today are located in those jurisdictions with Republican Governors who complied with this President's requests to reopen their states bypassing the CDC guidelines, the wisdom of Biden's approach is self-evident!

The President and Republican Governors defied the medical authorities and made a calculated political decision that gambled with the lives of American citizens by reopening their states too quickly - they lost!

Prepare for the old switch-a-roo in the coming months. You know even the liberals are dumb enough to let that wore out old puppet run for President. So, what are they up to? What are they going to come up with as a plan 'A', cuz we know tired Joe was their 'B'.

Wow! Am I glad we have Trump!

Looks like he's doing pretty well, right now.

About ten points ahead of Trump.

Granted, his opponent's continuing cognitive decline makes Biden look really sharp by comparison. And if Biden had been president, his plan for dealing with the pandemic would have worked, as very similar plans worked in South Korea and the EU. Trump botched it completely, and is now just hoping it will all go away, as deaths and new infections rise rapidly.

Americans notice that kind of thing.

You're right, Joe Biden should use his vast power as a *checks notes* private citizen to address the problem. What do you suggest he do besides what he already has done?
The man is running for president (!) and the suggestion is made that he ought to know--and say--something specific about what is going on, how to do things better than at present, or etc.?

I don't find that to be especially controversial. Or demanding. ;)

The post I was responding too was specifically about ACTION. The poster I was responding to felt that words weren't enough because they don't actually accomplish anything.

That "worn out old puppet" beat out over 20 Democratic contenders and is currently ahead in each of the 6 states that Trump desperately needs to win the Electoral College!

With over 50,000+ testing positive for COVID-19 daily and over 40 million unemployed on this President's "watch," the Republicans are so desperate for campaign issues that they've been forced to resort to Biden's age and mental fitness - oblivious to the fact that the Democrats could easily make Trump's repeated "faux pas" a much more compelling reason to question his grasp on reality!

Then I am forced to conclude that someone misunderstood both the writer of the OP and my post as well.

When a person is the one and only presumed challenge to the incumbent president, he is not just a casual armchair quarterback. The presumptive nominee of one of the two major parties, the sole person who can unseat the man being vilified as not having done right while in office, cannot just "take a pass" during the presidential campaign.

And yes, his stances, explanations, proposals, etc. are what the American people expect and have a right to expect...if he thinks that he can do better.

And make no mistake about that. When it comes to Biden's few public appearances, he may have no real answers, but he hasn't held back on claiming that he would be better than Trump. That much he is willing to address, if not a lot more. :sigh:

Conservatives are just frustrated that Biden has managed to secure a commanding lead in the polls by remaining in his basement with a minimum of campaigning!

If his advisers could persuade Trump to remain in the White House basement for the next 5 months, he might actually improve in the polls - this President is his own worst enemy!

My perception is that some are that way but others not at all.

And begging his god to allow mail-in ballots.

We used mail-in ballots in West Virginia in our recent primary. Red state, Republican governor. My understanding is that the mail-in ballots worked well.

It all depends on what the mail-in system looks like. I notice that some prominent Democrats have been saying that absentee ballots have not posed much of a problem of fraud in the past (ergo Trump is wrong to be skeptical), BUT it isn't the past that matters.

There are many moves afoot or recently completed to expand the mail-in balloting and that's what Pelosi is intent upon getting made into a nationwide policy. THOSE CHANGES almost certainly would open us up to serious vote fraud, and some recent elections (but not WV, if you are telling us that) have proven that it's not an unwarranted concern.

This was a recent change to deal with the COVID pandemic, and it worked well. Yes there were a few problems but not many. Perhaps other states should follow West Virginia’s example.

Anything's possible.

The rest of us have no idea what the system in West Virginia is like, so there's no way to comment further.

The nice thing about American Politics, for those of us who live elsewhere, is the comfort of knowing that despite the shambles of our own Administrations, we can find some peace in knowing that it could be worse.

You are being gullible. If they can steal the election, then 2020, as bad as it's been, will be the last great year this land ever had. And Trump will be our last President.
