[STAFF EDITED DELETED QUOTE]
It's never God that changes (I presume you agree on that).

This is making assumptions about what God finds as detestable and, in those assumptions, may be missing a log that's blocking vision.

One thing that's changed is God doesn't have the Israelite assembly representing Him in the wilderness where pagan idolatry worship was all around them.

I met this Jehovah Witness woman who worked for the NYC MTA and she told me that she had to get special permission to wear a skirt on the job as most MTA female employees wear pants . That surprised me as most women will wear a skirt every once in a while so I thought it odd that she had to get permission. She’s also the only one I ever saw wearing a skirt within the last 30 years.. I don’t have a problem with people wearing what they want as long as it’s clean and it looks nice on them. I saw Dennis Rodman ( remember him)in a dark brown floor length leather skirt and he looked good in it. I’ve seen guys wear pants that were so ill fitting that they looked like they were wearing a sober colored clown suit.
I guess im saying I don’t think it’s much of my business to tell someone else what to wear especially since fashions can be silly

My guess would be intent of the heart is the issue, not the act.

For example, if a man puts on a pair of womens shorts in ignorance. Is he truly a cross dresser?

I mean he DID wear womens clothes.... but it wasnt to be "lady like" he just grabbed clothes and wore them.

However, the one that knowingly wears womens clothes, generally does so because they like to be more effeminate and are feeding their desire to be something other than what God made them.

In sense, by their action claiming, they know better than God and He made a mistake.

Deuteronomy 22:5. A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.
The Pagan`s were in the habit of gender blurring and cross dressing specifically when worshipping the goddess Ishtar. The Israelites, in their apostasy , worshiped this goddess under the name Ashtoreth. This transaled into a law.

Men have probably always worn something similar to trousers/pants in a lot of places and cultures. There's evidence in the Bible in the book of Daniel:

Daniel 3:21 KJV
(21) Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

The word skirt in the Bible is likely referring to the border of a coat. Whatever the case even secular shops in most cases distinguish between men's and women's clothing. Even if a garment is the same it is shaped differently at least.

AV-abomination 113, abominable thing 2, abominable 2; 117

1) a disgusting thing, abomination, abominable
1a) in ritual sense (of unclean food, idols, mixed marriages)
1b) in ethical sense (of wickedness etc)

The point of reference here appears to be the creation.

Since God made male and female to look like and be like Himself, changing the way they look was an abomination to the speaker in the verse.

Paul said something similar about women needing to have long hair (or a covering) because of the angels. So in a sense, this is for the angels who were present at the creation.

However, nowadays we cannot perceive or talk to angels like people unless they're your conversation partner, and you wouldn't know it.

So it's there, but it's more for the angels than for God.

If anyone cares for an unfounded opinion. I usually imagine Bible characters dressing like we think the Saxons dressed.

Although I think men would have had short hair predominantly. Which is actually based on the Bible.

We aren't told much about what Jesus wore, but why would we assume he didn't dress like a man in his culture?

Babies of indeterminate gender are a special case and an extreme minority. A person is only judged based on what they are capable of. For instance, an insane person is not judged guilty of murder.

I agree that homosexual acts are forbidden by God. Does God approve of changes in fashion?

But if something was formerly detestable to him, but now he likes it, wouldn't that of necessity mean that God has changed? And we know he doesn't change.

Did God change when He no longer required circumcision and animal sacrifice? What about eating shellfish and pork?

Please do not derail the thread by bringing in circumcision, animal sacrifice and dietary restrictions.
The OP concerns dress/appearance.

Deuteronomy 22:5. A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.

This was specifically directed to the Israelite and not the pagan people. It's the same thing with Kosher, Bar Mitzvah, new moon celebrations, lamb sacrifices, circumcision on the 8th day, hair styles, beards, and etc. No where it was stated that the Egyptians, Hittites, Canaanites, Jebusites, Sinites, and etc. were required to follow everything in Leviticus. I've never read an Egyptian, like Pharaoh following the hair style law of the Jews and have his hair style changed with a payot (curly side burns). He would look funny and his subjects will ask him, "Your majesty, are you a Jew?" I've never heard an Egyptian observing the Passover and sacrificing an unblemished lamb.

The Lord was only concerned with his chosen people and there are not to follow the ways of the heathens.

If you want to be a Jew, follow everything and not pick and choose the laws you fancy. Look like Jew, dress like a Jew, eat like a Jew, be circumcised on the 8th day like a Jew. Follow everything, including stoning. I can assure you, the Jews will laugh at you for being a wannabe.

When Christ came, that's the only time the gentiles were included.

It was a warning of getting wiped out. Just like Sodom and Gomorrah. I've never heard of spreading the gospel of Leviticus, be baptized, and be born again like a Jew.
Yeah but I mean it's a warning that they're displeasing God. Their wickedness i.e. sin. Sin is the transgression of God's law.

This section of the law is about purity. Animals are prohibited if they don't fit the standard concept of fish or meat animal. Clothes with mixed fibers are banned, and fields with mixed crops. People who don't dress with the standard for their gender, or use sex that's standard for their gender. Generally we don't follow these things, because that kind of purity isn't an issue for Christians. Certainly it wasn't for Jesus.

Because God made us male and female, we are separate and distinct with separate roles, separate garments etc. The fact that these lines have been blurred today is indicative of a society that has fled from God and scripture.

I think it's an abomination. I see it as such, because I hate it. It's disturbing. Why do I hate it? Why do I find it disturbing? Because it's abominable.

Gut reactions don't need much reasoning. I look at something and say, "That's awful!" I don't need to explain it. It's just awful. No logic higher than God compelled him to reason to that conclusion. It's bad because God said it is.
