How to know If what I am doing is of God?

You often don't, sometimes he'll just surprise you with a ministry opportunity as you go about your day. When that happens, many Christians had no idea that God was setting something up beforehand.

One thing to note is whether or not you are at peace. (Colossians 3:15). I was fixated on course of action, I had apparent signs that seemed to confirm my course, I had Bible verses and a visiting preacher seemed to be confirming it also. I had insomnia for 6 months, 2-3 hours of sleep each night. As soon as I gave up my "vision", I slept right through the night.

Mostly, God's will is right in front of us. Go to work, pay your bills, study, pray, fellowship and just live. Follow your intuition. If that is not clear, ask God to show you. If you are choosing God's will in preference to self will, if you are asking Him to lead you and guide you, He will. We can get in trouble when our own desires overrule God's will. Asking God to bless our own works is bad news - just ask Abraham how that works out.

• Love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul.
• Fear the Lord.
  
• Delight in His word and meditate on it.
  
• Commit your everything to Him, your time, every word, action, thoughts and things.
  
• Do everything for His glory.
• Let your motives be clean and pure in His sight.
  
• Plan and pray according to His common will given in His word.
• Obey, trust in Him and submit all things to His hands.
• Be thankful, always.

Then, He will direct your every step and you know that you are doing what God wants you to do.
