NPC International Inc., the largest franchisee of Pizza Hut restaurants in the U.S., filed for bankruptcy after coronavirus-related shutdowns added to competitive pressures in the restaurant industry.

The closely held company sought Chapter 11 protection in the Southern District of Texas court on Wednesday. NPC, founded in 1962, operates 1,227 Pizza Hut and 393 Wendy’s stores across the U.S., according to court papers.

I've got a better idea for all pizza-holics. Take a slice of bread, spread some tomato puree onto bread, sprinkle any cooked meat of your choice with seasoning onto bread, add some BBQ sauce and then bake for a few minutes in the oven. It saves you a lot of money and it should taste good too. I think :study:

Remember to close the blinds or you might get lynched by angry nonnas for calling that a pizza.

I have a better solution for pizza-holics... Buy the 20-pack of flour tortillas. When you want pizza, spread tomato sauce on it, with a slight drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of oregano, and some shredded mozzarella. Toaster-oven for 4 minutes (see what works best for yours). Instant delicious little thin-crust pizzas! I know these things because I'm from NJ, lol...

Where's the coke and garlic bread?

Your recipe is not a pizza.

A mob of twenty year olds have not got those ingredients in the fridge. Nor do they have the time to go shopping or know what to buy. You must have forgotten what it was like to be twenty years old?

What I'll always remember is the laughter. You know?
I've noticed that whenever the Left sees a meme that hits particularly close to home, that's the immediate defense - "It's old!" - even if it's like one day old. lol

Yep. And inasmuch as the left can't meme, should we really trust their opinion about what is or isn't funny or old or dated?

They think Stephen Colbert is funny. Does that answer your question? :D

Pizza Dough (a la Bobby Flay)

Yields 2 pizza doughs (the second can be stored in the fridge in a storage bag)

3 1/2 to 4 cups bread flour, plus more for rolling
1 teaspoon sugar
1 envelope instant dry yeast
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 cups water, 110 degrees F
2 tablespoons olive oil, plus 2 teaspoons

  • Combine the bread flour, sugar, yeast and kosher salt in the bowl of a stand mixer and combine. [Or really, just combine and mix and knead by hand — it’s not that hard.] While the mixer is running, add the water and 2 tablespoons of the oil and beat until the dough forms into a ball. If the dough is sticky, add additional flour, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together in a solid ball. If the dough is too dry, add additional water, 1 tablespoon at a time. Scrape the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead into a smooth, firm ball.
  • Grease a large bowl with the remaining 2 teaspoons olive oil, add the dough, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in a warm area to let it double in size, about 1 hour. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 2 equal pieces. Cover each with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let them rest for 10 minutes.

Pizza (a la essentialsaltes)

Ingredients

1 pizza dough - Trader Joe’s or Bobby Flay recipe
enough pasta sauce to cover a pizza
enough cheese to cover a pizza
enough spinach leaves (or basil) to cover a pizza
enough of your heart’s desire to cover a pizza
dollop of vegetable oil

Turn oven to 450
Use oil or spray to coat 16 inch pizza pan
Roll out the dough into a circle about a half inch bigger than the pizza pan on all sides
Deftly transfer the dough onto the pan.
Roll up and crimp the edges of the dough onto the edge of the pan.
Poke the base with a fork all over.

Bake the dough on its own for 12 minutes or until starting to brown.
Use these 12 minutes to prepare the toppings as needed.
Chop vegetables, meat, fungi and minerals to appropriate size.

Remove parbaked pizza crust and spread pasta sauce on base.
Add spinach (and/or basil) in a layer on top the pasta sauce.

Add cheese (TJ’s Quattro Formaggio, but any reasonable Italian blend or Mozarella works)
Add heart’s desire.
Bake for another 12 minutes, or a bit more if there are some denser, wetter toppings.

Alas, this recipe is useless to me. My local store does not carry my heart's desire. I can't even find it online.

Just substitute pineapple.

Easy Peasy - they even have gluten-free in this brand, lots of brands out there. Order on Amazon, etc.
