The common sense of God is summed up in one statement.

Love your neighbour as yourself.

Theology appears to be excuses to not love your neighbour as yourself.

Discuss.
The problem is, most people do not love themselves in a healthy way. They abuse their bodies with various bondages, and they abuse others the same way.

I think theology expounds on the other point-Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind.
It's in the book, but gets sidelined in the application.

I suppose if people love others the way they "love" themselves might result in the way the world currently is. Probably why 1st Corinthians 13 is around to help give a better picture.

The reality is that one Must love God first and then to love others.

While it is possible to love others without having any regard for God, such a love is illogical, why should anyone love others? What reason is there to love others?

It only makes sense if one loves God.

But how can you love God whom you have not seen, if you do not love those made in His image and likeness whom you have seen?

Sounds like quite an excuse, for whatever you have done to others, you have also done unto God.

If one really loves God with all there heart, mind and soul then by osmosis they will love their neighbor.

When one doesn't love their neighbor its proof they do not love God.

If the positive is true so to is the negative side above true.

There is no excuse, only simple practicality. If one cannot love your creator, how can one claim to love the created.
If one does not love the creator what reason is there to love people?

Yes indeed !

Someone was putting the cart before the horse and that was not you.

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.… We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:9–11, 19).

Love is an attribute of God. Love is a core aspect of God’s character, His Person. God’s love is in no sense in conflict with His holiness, righteousness, justice, or even His wrath. All of God’s attributes are in perfect harmony. Everything God does is loving, just as everything He does is just and right. God is the perfect example of true love. Amazingly, God has given those who receive His Son Jesus as their personal Savior the ability to love as He does, through the power of the Holy Spirit (John 1:12; 1 John 3:1, 23-24). Got ?

hope this helps !!!

Fallacy I guess, since people do love their family, even if they do not trust God.

No fallacy, Why do they love there family, friends etc?
How do they love those they don't know? Or if they give to charities, why do they?

We know that we love, sometimes the reason is simple, sex, they are My child, my brother etc but to campaign for unknown people's rights, or to care about unknown people, why do they?

If we are made in the image of God then every person regardless of class, colour, race or wealth is valuable and if we do not love our creator, how can we claim to love his creation?

There's a vacuum there in the application.

Jesus did say something however, if you who are evil give good gifts to your children ...

And the ultimate Good gift is a knowledge of Jesus. As Jesus said, Woe to those who teach these little one to stumble.
Ignorance of eternity is the ultimate bad gift.
