So what are you saying? That Arbery did not have a right to try to defend himself?
Same thing I keep saying, maybe he did have a right, but he chose a very foolish way to do it.
That McMichael had the right to shoot him because he tried to defend himself?
That's what the video looks like to me. He grabbed the gun and is trying to pull it away.

I described the action. I didn’t offer a definition. If you want to get into definitions, the Common Law definition of murder is an illegal killing with malice aforethought. This was an illegal killing—the mere fact that there had been robberies doesn’t make it legal—and the shooter had no right to pull a gun on this man, hence malice aforethought.

The person here who didn’t have a right to do what he did was the shooter. He had no right to pull a gun.

I would call that self defense.

I hear that some interesting people who are doing outstanding work in the world, have lived there, and they are proud to own it.
I hear that some interesting people who are doing outstanding work in the world come from a lot of different communities...Compton is certainly not unique in that area and doesn't bestow any virtue unto the city in itself! How many of these interesting people that you hear about still live in Compton? My guess would be none!
Talking about people exiting, on my last visit to Compton speaking with a friend of mine I found out that most blacks have moved out of Compton! Many moving to much safer places like Victorville...she said it has even become more dangerous because of the influx of Hispanic street gangs including the notorious and murderous MS-13! Compton is mainly Hispanic now!
I moved to Palmdale and lived in a predominantly white neighborhood for 20 years. I was never harassed, and/or threatened by my "friendly neighbors" even though before I moved I was told by blacks who lived in the "hood" who agreed with you that I would be...nor have I heard of other blacks, from my church or anywhere else, complain of such! On the contrary I was treated warmly and with respect!

Your guess would be right. But, the point is, there are people living there whose lives matter. Who knows what may come out of your old "hood".
Compton is mainly Hispanic now!

And they matter.

I think it is wonderful that you have not experienced what others have. But,you cannot say it isn't happening because it has not happened to you yet.
