Youtube flags a video for dangerous and inappropriate content for saying "in this position white is always better". It is a video on a chess game discussing black and white pieces.

The world is insane.

Not really. A lot of the video flagging is done autonomously. There just isn't the man power for a company like Youtube to use actual people to verify things like DMCA notices and other content issues. It's not even realistic to have humans do it because of the amount of manpower it would need.

The problem is the autonomous processes are far from perfect so they both fail to flag videos that should be flagged and flag videos that shouldn't have been flagged. If you get a bad flag and contest it, do you think an actual human is sitting there and verifying it? No. In most cases, it's pretty much run through the same algorithm that flagged it in the first place.

Dealing with content on a platform like Youtube is a major problem to solve. Sure, Youtube certainly has issues with how they deal with it and could make certain changes to improve it (for example, it's arguable that channels that get a lot of traffic and thus make a lot of money are not as subject to the rules as everyone else is), but it's going to be a complicated problem regardless.

Clinton tweets "Great again" as the number of confirmed cases of Covid19 in the US sets a new record and is the highest in the world.

This tweet indicates that Clinton is gleeful over the problems the US is facing. Regardless of what you think about Trump, this indicates to me that Clinton is unsuitable to be the mother of the nation.

In the video he says that as soon as he learned that Youtube had flagged the video he appealed. But the appeal was also immediately denied.

That seems very poor to me, what is the point of having an appeal process that is also automated? Why couldn't they look at the fact he had made hundreds, maybe thousands of previous posts without a single flagged video?

Meh, not really insane, just inevitable with a platform like YouTube. There's not a realistic way of having actual humans verifying contested flags. There's just too many of them.

Jesus wasn't white.

With regard to the current uprising, I contend that the cry of "Black Lives Matter" is, at bottom, a reaction to the reluctance of those in power to make the kind of changes necessary to make justice a reality for African Americans. I think America must see that riots do not develop out of thin air. Certain conditions continue to exist in our society which must be condemned as vigorously as we condemn riots. But in the final analysis, a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it that America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the treatment of African Americans by police has worsened over the last few years (e.g., abandoning consent decrees). It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that segments of our society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice, equality, and humanity. And so in a real sense our nation's summers of riots are caused by our nation's winters of delay. And as long as America postpones justice, we stand in the position of having these recurrences of violence and riots over and over again. Social justice and progress are the absolute guarantors of riot prevention.

This is getting pretty scary. He also doubles down on the statement made by Shaun King that white Jesus is a form of white supremacy which you can see in the video below.

president Hawk Newsome:

“If this country doesn't give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it.”

leader of Black Lives Matter's New York chapter on Wednesday said the movement was prepared to "burn down this system" if the U.S. does not work with participants to enact real change.

"If this country doesn't give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it," said Hawk Newsome, chairman of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, during an interview with Fox News. "I could be speaking figuratively, I could be speaking literally. It's a matter of interpretation."

Newsome went on to clarify that while "I don't condone nor do I condemn rioting," the measurable change that has occurred in recent weeks began in the wake of property destruction caused by rioters.

"This country is built upon violence," Newsome said, pointing to the American Revolution and modern American diplomacy as examples. "We go in and we blow up countries and we replace their leaders with leaders who we like. So for any American to accuse us of being violent, it's extremely hypocritical."

https://www.newsweek.com/blm-leader-well-burn-system-down-if-us-wont-give-us-what-we-want-1513422

I don't allow this to anger me, and I pray for spiritual guidance for myself, family, and all of America. I am worried for the cities where these movements are taking place. What is this kind of behavior teaching the young generation of America? What are parents telling their children about this movement? I pray that America can come together and unite as one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Planned Parenthood stands with BLM. More black babies are aborted annually in NYC than born alive.

I have facts regarding police brutality which I'll post on another thread.

BLM wants justice for one race only. That's a step in the wrong direction. The lack of compassion for other skin colors will be their downfall. They are what they say they are fighting. They seek only the advancement of their own race and no others. Eventually everyone will see them for what they are.

There was a time I thought we were all moving towards equality. My generation apparently failed.

BEcause it's not realistic to have humans verifying every time someone contests a flag. There is simply too many of them. Sure, improvements in the process can be made to increase human intervention, but yeah, in most cases it's just going to be re-run through the algorithm - or even possibly a second algorithm that is less sensitive but still produces false positives.

This sort of thing is a problem YouTube has been trying to solve for years.

I agree, you have to have a different algorithm. So for example if you have prior ratings of Youtube channels like "chess" that would indicate it is far less likely to have something offensive, then you can also add a second check on prior flagged accounts. So you have a youtube channel that is about chess and hasn't been flagged once in over 10,000 posts, that would narrow it down enough to kick it to person to review.

This video was a live feed of a chess match where he was going to give real time feedback and analysis during the match.

Baloney, we are moving towards fairness. I remember when we had our first black mayor, now it is common. The first black athletes are not that recent, now there is no consideration whatsoever on the race or nationality of a player. Teams have learned having someone like Yao Ming can be very beneficial to the marketing of a team abroad. When I was six months old I was living in Jackson, Ms. At that time interracial marriage was illegal in Mississippi. Those days are long gone. We are making great strides forward, people just forget about how bad it was.

BLM wants justice for one race only

What do you mean?

Are you saying they want justice that other races get and that they’ve been lacking, or are you saying they want justice to the exclusion of other races?

Because one of those is false.

Did any of them say if they don't get what they want they will burn the system down? Did any of them burn down businesses, kill people, assault others, assault the police, burn people's cars and police cars? Did any of them break into business and steal stuff? Did they throw bricks at police, molotove cocktails, M-80s?

Just trying to figure out the corolation between the people in the picture and the BLM folks with the violence.

It was adifferent kind of "system" they were protesting, but...they didn't have to say that. They showed up with guns. I think that sends a pretty clear message.

One that I generally agree with, actually - "don't forget: you work for us, and we will not be trampled on".

I just happen to think the cause that the Lansing protestors were there for was incredibly stupid.

There are tens to hundreds of thousands of people at these protests. The violent people - if they even show up at all, which they often don't - are a minuscule fraction of that. Also, if you know anything whatsoever about history, you know that is precisely the kind of stuff you can expect to happen when you expressly communicate to people that traditional peaceful protest - picket lining, marching, and sloganeering - will at best result in nothing changing, and at worst result in you getting pepper sprayed, tear gassed, and bludgeoned. This is nothing new. This is the entire history of civil unrest.

Suppose we set all that aside.

I take it if people protesting police brutality were to copy the model from the Lansing protests, arm themselves en masse, and occupy government buildings, you would be OK with that?

This is how the United States started. People killed, raped and stole land. And changed laws. It's sound familiar.

Yeah, George III wasn't at all happy when we burned the system down...

Or she being sarcastic. Because an out of date system, elected someone not suitable to be a president. And the United states is crumbling.
