how can you tell that anyone there was part of BLM?

He can just tell?
Maybe he knows the secret handshake?
All black people are BLS?
Whatever it is, it must be important; no one wants to talk about it.

Has Joe or anyone in Democratic Leadership taken a stand against the violence, assaults and property damage happening all over the US?

Has anyone on the Democratic side called for law and order?

He is off praying to whatever god that he worships asking not to actually have to debate Trump on live TV. And begging his god to allow mail-in ballots. ;)

Apparently this President and his supporters are more concerned about isolated cases of "violence, assaults and property damage" than the 125,000 deaths, the 2.5 million infected with COVID-19, the 40,000 testing positive daily, the prospect of the nation's healthcare system being overwhelmed and the 40+ million Americans unemployed!

Spending the weekend playing golf and tweeting "White Power" videos doesn't exactly inspire confidence that this President is aware of the problems facing average Americans and/or is prepared to to apply himself to solve their problems!

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden criticized the violence that has arisen alongside protests over the killing of George Floyd, while also expressing his support for peaceful demonstrators.

"We are a nation in pain, but we must not allow this pain to destroy us. We are a nation enraged, but we cannot allow our rage to consume us. We are a nation exhausted, but we will not allow our exhaustion to defeat us," Biden said in an official statement released on Sunday.

Biden said that the nation was clearly "furious at injustice," emphasizing the "rawness of trauma" experienced by people of color nationwide.

"Protesting such brutality is right and necessary," the former vice president said. "It's an utterly American response. But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that gust and shutters businesses that serve the community is not."

Which is not to say Trump has done nothing. When rioting broke out in D.C., he shut off the lights and hid in the basement.

There have been condemnations across the board from all levels of democratic leaders. and they are easy to find if you just look.

Well, looking, for some people, can be a difficult bit of work. Some people are prone to just listening to certain radio or television folks or only reading a certain type of written material. They are prone to only 'hearing' what they want to hear and 'seeing' what they want to see. Paul spoke of people who would surround themselves with those who would fill their itching ears with what they wanted to hear. Of course, he was likely referring to spiritual matters, but the 'type' would naturally carry over into other matters of one's ability to discern the truth.

Yes, I believe there has been ample effort made by many to denounce the needless violence, but it has always been thus. America's history, at least for the last 60 years has produced a plethora of similar cases. The Watts riots used to be one of the biggest and went on for days. I think that has now been surpassed by this most recent unrest, as far as length and breadth. However, I'm not sure that the destruction has surpassed what happened in Watts.

God bless,
In Christ, ted

Some of us expect actions that show their words, not just sound bites.

My apologies - by my using the term "taking a stand" to me, means proposing and helping ACT on the problem. Both are great statements - both good, good soundbite. Neither supports the Police nor offers a solution.

Democrats are great for sound bites - how about putting action to words?

There is no Democratic leader calling to curtail the rioting, but several are supporting the actions including Cuomo

There is no Democratic Leaders calling for the laws for Nation Monument to be enforced, but several, including Pelosi endorsing the illegal actions.

We are a nation of laws.

There is no Democratic leader calling to curtail the rioting,

From Fox News:
Former Vice President Joe Biden called the protests in response to the death of George Floyd “utterly American,” but condemned the “needless destruction” and violence that broke out across the country on Saturday night.
...
“Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It’s an utterly American response,” he said. “But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.”

Biden condemns riots over George Floyd death, calls for end to 'needless destruction'

And BTW:

The founder of St. Paul’s Black Lives Matter chapter denounced the violent protesters who blocked a major interstate and attacked police officers Saturday night in the Twin Cities, saying they did a disservice to the officers trying to maintain order and that their actions did nothing to further the group’s goals.

Rashad Turner, who leads Black Lives Matter in St. Paul, tells TIME that he blames much of the violence on people who he says weren’t from the area.

“There were people outside of the community I didn’t recognize,” he says. “They were doing stupid stuff, and it’s something we don’t tolerate.”
Black Lives Matter Leader Condemns Violence at St. Paul Protest

So who's behind it?

A trio of right-wing extremists with military backgrounds have been busted for plotting riots at George Floyd protests in Las Vegas — part of a plan to overthrow the government, according to federal prosecutors.

Army reservist Andrew T. Lynam Jr., 23, former Navy man Stephen T. Parshall, 35, and former Air Force man William L. Loomis, 40, were being held on $1 million bond each on terrorism-related charges.

The trio were part of the “boogaloo” movement, “a term used by extremists to signify coming civil war and/or fall of civilization,” prosecutors said in a release.

C'mon. You knew this. Anyone not living in a cave, knew this.

various posts in this thread and a minute spent on Google show your claim to be false.

since 1980 Democrats in congress have put forward legislation calling for the protection of historic monuments and to make vandalism of such monuments a federal offence a total of 46 times. Every time Republicans stop the legislation. The most recent attempt at such legislation was made in February 2020 by rep. Steve Cohen D- Tenn. His bill HR 6026 was blocked when all Republican members of the house judiciary committee refused to bring it to committee.

You're confusing people by bringing facts into the discussion. How rude.

Facts, like one side calling for law and order while the other supporting the radical left in defunding the police.

In this case it was the fact:

since 1980 Democrats in congress have put forward legislation calling for the protection of historic monuments and to make vandalism of such monuments a federal offence a total of 46 times. Every time Republicans stop the legislation. The most recent attempt at such legislation was made in February 2020 by rep. Steve Cohen D- Tenn. I should have known that.

Over 50,000 tested positive for COVID-19 testing yesterday and the President continues to remain isolated and largely silent when it comes to federal government initiatives to address these surging numbers - hoping against hope that it will all disappear one day doesn't count as a meaningful policy!

I thought this was about inaction by politicians. The biggest two stories on that are Trump's effective surrender to the pandemic, and his failure to act on intelligence showing that Russians had put a bounty on American soldiers in Afghanistan.

They are calling for less law and order. Right up until the protestors come to their neighborhood.
