The eyes are the window to your soul. Last time I wore a mask my eyes were visible.
You have no idea if the people around you in masks are smiling, angry or dangerous. There's a reason why thieves wear masks and why armed robbery is up substantially in the last 3 months. The presumption that everyone around us is sick is nothing short of outrageous. We could save 35k lives a year if we banned driving. Or 250k a year if we banned fast food. The list is endless and yet Christians won't push for those changes because they are absurd. And yet, for this virus we're following media hysteria and pretending like it's the Christian thing to do.

If you're old or immune compromised stay home. Leave the rest of us alone though.

There are cultures where older persons are respected and valued. I guess not so much for you. I'm "old" by COVID standards. I have as much right to be out as you do. What about "Love your neighbor as yourself?" Do you not have some obligation to care for others' health and well-being?

A 2015 study put out by the CDC suggests that masks aren't helpful in stopping the spread of viruses. Anything being pumped out today is politically motivated and likely based in conjecture rather than actually science. Perspective matters too. 3 million people die annually in the United States. 750k would have died in the US in the last three months, Coronavirus or no Coronavirus. The average death has been over 75 with preexisting health problems, nearly half have been in nursing homes in northern states like NY and Michigan. In other words, Coronavirus took out the same people that flu takes out every year without anyone noticing or doing anything preventative.

As a society we have lost the ability to ask questions and think. We've ceded our thinking capabilities to self appointed experts without ever asking what their motivations are. That will have broad, long term consequences that go far beyond the extreme overreaction to this virus.
The health authorities on the White House Coronavirus Taskforce are wearing masks during their briefings, so what is there about Dr. Donald that his supporters are willing to take his medical advice while risking the lives of themselves and their families for the sake of wearing a mask?

A comparison of the data for the US and Canada clearly indicates that something is dramatically wrong with the American response but true to form this nation steadfastly refuses to look beyond its own borders and adopt those strategies that could save 10,000's of lives!

Don't be absurd. That is the most absurd reason I have heard for not wearing a mask. Do you really fear people in a mask? That's absurd. Do you really think mask wearing has caused a spike in crimes? That's absurd.

You're being absurd.

There is more to human expression than the mouth. The eyes / eyebrows convey a lot of emotion.

(Especially since crime rates fell during the lockdowns.)

An unchecked pandemic in the U.S. had the potential to kill millions. That's why you see the responses you are seeing.

Heck, it arguably still does have the ability to kill over a million Americans, especially the way things are going with the botched U.S. response.

If you're old or immune compromised stay home. Leave the rest of us alone though.

That's not how a society works. If you don't want to participate in society as a good citizen, perhaps you should bugger off to an island somewhere and leave the rest of *us* alone.

It is frustrating that my fellow Americans have to be slapped in the face by the monster we know is out there before they do anything about it as a group.

Wish us luck! Now that we are seeing a second SPIKE in the FIRST WAVE you just KNOW we're going to knock this one outta the park.

Our President and his administration coupled with his "supporters" have turned common sense healthcare measures into some political topic.

Truly we seem to be making a very strong case that we no longer have adult supervision.

You do realise that the Americans will wither and die if their serum ‘muh freedoms’ level drops bellow 5.4 milliconstitutions.

Wearing a mask or standing further over there has been shown reduce the serum MF levels by as much as .7 milliconstitutions per hour of exposure.

OH MAN, I'm SO GOING to start using these measures!!!!!

LOLOLOL!

sigh.....I have friends and family in Arizona, its my US home.

Arizona reports 3,591 new coronavirus cases, 44 more deaths

The Arizona health department reported 3,591 new coronavirus cases and 44 additional deaths Saturday morning.

That brought the state’s documented totals to 70,051 COVID-19 cases and 1,579 deaths.

It was the sixth daily report of more than 3,000 new cases in the past nine days. The number of positive cases matches the daily high that was set Tuesday.

Arizona is facing more per capita cases than recorded by any country in Europe or even more than the confirmed number of cases in hard-hit Brazil. Among states with at least 20 people hospitalized for covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, no state has seen its rate of hospitalizations increase more rapidly since Memorial Day.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/heal...92a5a8-b658-11ea-aca5-ebb63d27e1ff_story.html

...and while TX and FL governors had the good sense to shut down bars, our governor simply beggs people and businesses "to do the right thing."

Dr Suntera Gupta in Briton has argued that lockdowns make us more susceptible to dangerous pathogens going forward. She correctly notes that Britain and Sweden had comparable results despite Sweden not locking down.

We in the US are creating health nightmares that will ultimately kill more people than Coronavirus because of the foolishness of lockdowns and these idiotic, ineffective masks. It isn't safe to breathe your own carbon dioxide, God didn't cover our faces for good reason.

The notion that those of us who question the wisdom of self appointed experts and our government overlords should just go to an island and leave the rest of you alone is asinine. How about you leave me alone with your ridiculous, unscientific, fearful demands?

And what would you call the notion that old people should stay home and leave you alone?

Old people are adults, they can decide for themselves what they want to do. If they want to stay home or go out, that's their business. They know the risks, they're not children.

The face is a window to the soul, it conveys all of our emotions. Covering up across the board denies us our humanity.
I am sorry but that is nonsense imho. The phrase is that the eyes are the window to the soul.

Using a mask is showing concern and love for our neighbors.

The presumption is that others around us might be asymptomatic carriers of the virus.
The numbers in the southern states show that opening perhaps too soon is causing the numbers to rise greatly.
Not everyone who dies is old. for example:
Fort Myers girl, 17, dead from coronavirus complications, according to reports

1) There is no evidence to support the claim that lockdowns will kill more people than COVID-19. Zero.

2) Masks are perfectly safe. Ask yourself why medical professionals are able to wear them for extended periods of time.

The notion that those of us who question the wisdom of self appointed experts and our government overlords should just go to an island and leave the rest of you alone is asinine. How about you leave me alone with your ridiculous, unscientific, fearful demands?

If you want to be selfish and irresponsible, it's probably best to do so well away from anyone else. So go move to an island or somewhere off by yourself. We don't need your foolish irresponsibility around anyone else.

The problem is a lot of adults *don't* know the risks. The number of people still in denial about this pandemic is frightening.

That’s not in the slightest true. UK has the highest rates in Europe and Sweden is worse than any of it’s neighbours.

That's great and all, but I thought the problem was with masks in one way or another. Why are you changing the topic to lockdowns?
