This is very interesting to me. Most teach and believe Jesus before ressurection took Abraham's bosom with Him when He took keys of hell and death. If this is so how was Moses transfigured with Elijah in garden before crucifixion?
Also Peter says gospel was preached to the dead. Which most are taught was Jesus in Abraham's bosom. I am still trying to understand this. Because if this is so, how do you explain Moses with Elijah in garden before ressurection?
Food for thought. God bless.
Jude 1:9 I guess is the answer. Moses was resurrected?
I define "Abraham's bosom" as what Abraham had most on his heart. Abraham’s bosom is also Jewish idiom, meaning “paradise.” Yeshua used it in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus [Luke 16:19-31]. Yeshua also pointed out that "paradise" is a place where “many” would “come from the east and west” and “sit down with Abraham” at the feast of “the kingdom of heaven” [Matt. 8:11] [Luke 14:15].
Rev 1:18 17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. But He placed His right hand on me and said, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, 18
t he Living One. I was dead, and behold, now I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hades. 19 Therefore write down the things you have seen, and the things that are, and the things that will happen after this.…
‘keys’ represent authority.
Isaiah 22:22 on his shoulder the key of the house of David.
fHe shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
Revelation 9:1 I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit. rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft.
Yeshua was describing himself as ‘alive forevermore’ It is because He will not die again, He will never hang on the cross again, He will never surrender His life again, He is first fruits, and He is the first in prominence of the resurrected.
Revelation 1:17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades."
As to "having the keys of Death and Hades" to me represents the "power or authority" to resurrect whom He chooses and for what purpose.
Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Yeshua always spoke with authority while walking the earth.
Luke 14:13 or, the maimed, the lame, the blind: 14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. 15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Even though the authority was His Father's, He knew when completing the mission, He would be handed the keys.
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness
he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and
he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.
An example of Yeshua, while walking the earth, knowing the authority is His to have and yet still giving His Heavenly Father recognition of that same authority would be Yeshua taking control over the Temple Mount, He calls it “My house” (
Is 56:7; Jer 7:11), yet He calls the Temple “My Father’s house”. (
Jn 2:16-17; Ps 69:9)
This is Him with the power over death and hades.
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
As to the resurrection of Moses..
Jude 1:9
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of
Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
