Thank you very much. I am a lot better now. I am full of hope and know that hope is my anchor in Christ through faith.
It's not unusual to have an occasional downer. I get discouraged from time to time still. It only lasts a few hours now, instead of months like in the bad old days. The answer is always the same. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith.

Totally agree. No matter the situation. Jesus is always the answer.

When I came to Christian Forums I was happy and full of faith and hope. Now I am at a loss and feel there is no hope. So what should I do? Just no longer come to the forums?

Being on a forum can be hard at times, especially when you depend on the ways people react and answer to you. It is easier focusing on the bad responses than on the good ones, especially if these makes you insecure and doubting.

I used to get easier hurt and offended in the past in forums, when people were rude and behaved badly against me and others. It can still be upsetting when I see this occouring, if not with me, also when done to others. Some people seem to want to respond in a way which makes them feel better or which are just meant to ridicule others, because they get annoyed or don't agree with them. No matter what the reason is behind their behavior, it is still not acceptable to act in a way which is meant to bring down another one.

The best way is staying in the truth, and sharing from what you do know. Also being humble when you may have had something wrong, and receive correction from others. Also remaining humble and calm, even when you do know you had something right whilst others says it is wrong.

These are good bible verses to have in mind.

2 Timothy 2:23-25

"But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,"

I also remind myself of the people in here who also genuinely loves the LORD, and who are of blessing and upbuilding for each other in Christ Jesus!

We cannot avoid people who are rude and who will treat us badly, these can be met both online as outside face to face with us. But there are also people who genuinely cares and loves us, as fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! Who are uplifting to us. Then I'd rather focus more on this part, than on those who thinks badly. Although the Lord also uses people who makes it difficult for us, to grow us and make us stronger in our faith as well as relationship to Him. :)

I use to debate myself some but the majority of people that are "regulars" in debate areas aren't there to be honest and learn but rather there to try and indoctrinate you into their way of thinking... with some the truth be damned is how they think.
You shouldn't judge people's motives. It's OK to judge their fruit but I think many are concerned about other's false beliefs.

Even social media is full of discouragement these days. I have often removed shared posts on Facebook after thinking to myself, "You know.... That was awful negative!"

Been in American politics and news a lot last few days. That is where I seem to get discouraged and in trouble with administration.

I quit watching TV news ... I just go to Yahoo or something and browse the headlines to see if there is anything "earth shaking" going on and if so check other sources ... ie severe weather things, terrorist attacks etc.

U.S. politics are so verbally volatile these days, all they do is breed hate within our country for the sake of votes ... (between them and the news media and social media) ... it can really effect a person .... garbage in garbage out ..... and a lot of garbage going on in the world.

Been in American politics and news a lot last few days. That is where I seem to get discouraged and in trouble with administration.

The Polarisation of politics has a deep impact on every aspect of Society, including how we see our faith.

To some it puts strain on their faith.

In my own case, I feel its done the opposite, made me even more faithful to God and how we need to spread his truth in the world.

We can offer an alternative from the two flawed world views at odds with each other, now coined as the "Left, Far Left, Progressives, Liberals, Socialists, etc" Versus the "Right, Far Right, Stabletists, Conservatives, Capitalists, etc" and there extreme offshoots, for the Far Left "Neo-Marxists and Anarchists" and for the Far Right, "Neo-Nazi's and White Nationalists". (Just for the record, I know the Left/Right terminology is highly flawed and outdated and makes contradictions in modern politics, however, I still use it for ease)

I myself am honest that my own world view would like a system built upon a form of "bottom up" Socialism, more specific a form of Syndicalism, with aspects of direct action, such as a pacifist form of General strike, in which infrastructure is not damaged and people are not attacked, but labour is withdrawn large scale, but if violence is used against us, we don't strike back, but we accept their blows, only stepping in to stop others being killed. But this is last resort stuff. Though I share sentiments, I am completely opposed to Marxist, Communistic and Anarchist fantasies, especially their atheistic tendencies and elements of their ideologies which mainly exist as hatreds and one-sided madness.

I am also Democratic thought and believe most changes can come from the vote, with direct action and strikes as a last resort and through Democracy can work with other groups and people who completely disagree and make compromises that benefit people rather than destruction for the sake of one sided Ideological belief.

Stand firm, Brother, through God and the Light of Christ, we will prevail!

Hi Broken Fence.
Sorry to see you feel like leaving us. I hope you will stick around with us longer!
I think the most important thing to remember is that on these forums there are Christians from kinds of denominations, with different theological and political viewpoints. Unfortunately that means that we will always encounter people who disagree with each other. And that is just the way it is. That's life!
I think the best way for people to enjoy the forums is to meet, chat and get to know others. To discuss the kinds of things we all share in common, to enjoy light hearted conversation, and not allow topics to get too heated. Sadly I think a lot of people come to the forums to impose their own particular brand of theology or politics on others and we all know that it is not going to work.
I am politically neutral, and most would consider my Christianity to be mainline, even progressive. But I am happy to chat to anyone - liberal or conservative, because my primary purpose for being here is to befriend others and not convert them to my way of thinking.

Thank you for explaining terminology. I didn't understand what left and right meant with the extremes. Thank you very informative.

Thank you very much for replying. I am a lot better now. Got myself back in God's center. I come from all different branches of Christianity have been to many different churches. I know my bible, but really unlearned in theology, and science, and political spectrums. This forums is very good for me and have made some very good christian friends. Thank you so much for replying.

I would like your post. I can't like or agree anymore I lost my privileges.
It takes a few go arounds, warnings even loss of a privilege to understand the code of ethics on this forum. Love one another. Nothing more than what Jesus Christ of Nazareth has asked us to do. If you can do it here, you can take it out into the world in person! Look at it as training. It has helped me!!
Be blessed.

I avoid that place like the plague for the most part. Same stuff daily. If I go to a debate area it’s the debate area for Christians. It can still be exhausting but a much more charitable attitude for the most part except for a few. Debate takes up a lot of time and is draining. People ignore anything that does not go with their narrative most the time. Sometimes you’ll get a good soul that does not. Just remember never personally attack or goad the poster and you should be good. I tend to read a lot and rarely debate. It’s just too time consuming.
