This looks like a continuation of various horror genres like "the Purge", which base their horror on various race/class conflict. It kind of reminds me of what folks were talking about "the Hunt" from a few months back, but unlike the trailer that film actually was suppose to be a little more even handed on its social justice message.

The result is that between 1530 and 1780 there were almost certainly 1 million and quite possibly as many as 1.25 million white, European Christians enslaved by the Muslims of the Barbary Coast.

Davis said his research into the treatment of these slaves suggests that, for most of them, their lives were every bit as difficult as that of slaves in America.

“As far as daily living conditions, the Mediterranean slaves certainly didn’t have it better,” he said.

While African slaves did grueling labor on sugar and cotton plantations in the Americas, European Christian slaves were often worked just as hard and as lethally – in quarries, in heavy construction, and above all rowing the corsair galleys themselves.

Davis said his findings suggest that this invisible slavery of European Christians deserves more attention from scholars.

Research Suggests White Slavery Was Much More Common

Not saying one slavery is better than another, its true that we don't put highlight on some of the other forms of slavery. I guess the difference is the reparations. Can't speak for other nations, but in the case of slavery of Blacks in America, there haven't been a true reparation from the US, but more importantly the extention of racism (redlining, segregation, etc.) and them being a world power have put alot of added barriers even after emanipation. Its like they have to keep playing catch up in comparison to other historically enslaved minorities.

Its less about who suffered more, and more about providing and implementing solutions to help more of the black community be in a leveled playing field.

What would they be repaid with? As one of Native American heritage, would the families who benefited from the wealth that was obtained at the slaughter of my ancestors, hand that wealth over to those whose ancestors were imported here as slaves?

Historically, there were black slave owners and there were white slaves. I’m not aware of any case in America of blacks owning white as slaves - most of the white slaves were in colonial times, and black slave owners became more common in the decades before the Civil War.

More so the government. Remember that it didn't stop at slavery, but discrimination of jobs, owning homes, also implanting drugs, incarcation of black males, segregation, racial profiling, bombing of black communities to the point that they no longer exist, etc.

It would have to be something of equity, like land or investments.

Upcoming Show "Crack" Puts Blacks as Slave Owners and Whites as Slaves courtesy of AllHipHop News

Cracka Trailer

The upcoming series "Cracka" is likely to cause a storm of controversy for the premise: "What if the roles were reversed in slavery?

The movie offers a present-day so-called white supremacist who is magically thrust back in time to an alternate past where Africans enslave whites and rule the land known as America.

A synopsis explains, "In a world where white privilege, systematic oppression, and minority protest in order to break the chains of bondage runs regular, white supremacist Michael Stone is doing everything he can to maintain his privilege by exercising every opportunity to ensure the America he knows and loves continues to remain pure and more importantly, remain white!"

The movie is the brainchild of director Dale Resteghini, a white man born in Boston, Massachusetts that made his mark with rap videos. Resteghini worked with a colorful ensemble of artists including Pitbull, Akon, Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, Guns N Roses, Flo Rida, RZA, TYGA, Soulja Boy, Ty Dolla, Nicki Minaj, Diddy. Now, he is taking his talents in a new, controversial manner.

In the trailer of the movie, which is slated for a fall 2020 release, the protagonist - tatted with racist Nazi symbols - begins to harass an African American motorist. It is at that point that the violence starts. After the lead character rains down blows on the motorist, the pseudo-Nazi returns to his home. He then finds himself staring at the barrel of a shotgun and enslaved.

"Cracka" then relives all of the horrors of slavery such as rape, beatings, and even name changes. The series stars a bevy of talents including Lorenzo Antonucci, Hakeen Kae-Kazim, rapper Saigon, Kathryn Kates, and James Darnell.

The cast isn't simply Black people perpetrating the same sick injustices as their counterparts.

"Cracka doesn’t just tackle racism; it confronts it in a way you can’t possibly imagine. This unique series forces us - as a people, society, and overall a collective human unit - to look past color, look past our fears and pain, and see ourselves as people through the much-needed lens of love."

The series does not have a date but is expected to hit in the fall of 2020, just in time for the American presidential election.

"You raped our daughters. What if we raped yours?"

Can we put a pause on the talk about race for five minutes to talk about gender instead, since this is just... so messed up. Black women do not belong to black men. White women do not belong to white men. The whole narrative of one-sided sexual assault may need to be revisited in the first place--I just ran across Diane Miller Sommerville's Rape and Race in the Nineteenth-Century South, where she argues that in situations where slaves raped lower class white women, slave-owners protected their investment (and reputation) by manipulating the legal institutions, sometimes leading to class tension between slave-holding and non-slave-holding whites. Misogyny and classism were such serious problems that white elites didn't care if poor white women were being raped! Maybe they cared about elite women, but the book suggests that they too risked their station by actually making accusations, so who know.

It always frustrates me to see sexual assault used as a weapon in racial controversies, since the issue of sexual trafficking, from Antiquity to the Islamic harems to chattel slavery to what still goes on even today is such a transcendent problem, it shouldn't be reduced like this.

I didn't hate the rest of the clip, but this aspect of it was an absolute turn off. I don't know if it helps or hinders race relations, but it definitely leaves me feeling (once again) that women only matter to these people when there's a preferred oppressed social group to worry about.

I see. So the land that belonged to my ancestors, after it had been raped of its' resources, would be given to yet another group from a foreign land, instead of those to which belongs the rightful birthright?

So if "the government" would do this; does that mean that the tax burden would be thrust onto the backs of assimilated Native Americans? Would assimilated Native Americans be at risk, once again, of having their property handed over to those from a foreign land? How will we be protected? Will there be mandatory DNA testing to ensure that all of the rightful owners of this land will be protected from further theft? Wouldn't it be more fair for everyone just to go back to their ancestral homes, and call it even?

What if? All you have to do is look at today’s crime statistics to see that this is not a hypothetical...

I think it’s a double-edged sword. On one hand it could make people think and on the other harden the hearts of others. It really depends on the heart of a person. Personally, as a Christian, it doesn’t teach me anything but fire against fire. The Bible talks about that and we are to fight fire with love. We are not to fight like the world, but like Christ did for the world. :yellowheart:

I'm not a policymaker, and taking one's property over another I wouldn't advocate, but I'm always for justice, and I do understand the cry of reparations. And besides, if you wanna talk about birthright, even Native Americans owned Black slaves, had sex with them, and even in current times are fighting to just live on the same land as shared ancestors and lands that do belong to them. That how deep in fabric racism is in the US, to the point where all other races don't even recognized how they have contributed. They don't even acknowledge their own history in it. That's why its a problem.

You tell me then how fair to peacefully type out that maybe people should go back home lol. For a lot of people, this land is their own, they were sold off to the US, Native Americans decide to intermingle freely and have them as slaves, now it's a inconvienence to you and your ancestors??? What is this a pure breed contest? How foolish then to have that much entitlement to the point where there's no compassion to the situation nor talk as if of pure innocence in any situation. If anyone understands any point of history, all are wicked. Only difference is reparations.

Do not forget that at the end of the day, this Earth belongs to God, not your ancestors. We all came out of the same lineage. In a blink of an eye, all property can be taken away. Things we pride in can be switched up. But what will last is how much faith we put in God and how we see our fellow man.

The subliminal message in each is justification for bias and violence. The viewer will identify with the victim or oppressor. They're speaking to both groups.

"You raped our daughters. What if we raped yours?"

As you've noted, you're not dealing with rational thought. Who would conceive doing the same? Not someone with a morsel of conscience and self-respect.

Misogyny and classism were such serious problems that white elites didn't care if poor white women were being raped! Maybe they cared about elite women, but the book suggests that they too risked their station by actually making accusations, so who know.

Because the issue was never race. That's a palatable argument. But if you tell the truth and admit its class that's another matter. Supremacy isn't about color. Its rulership and that's assigned to the few not the many.

White supremacy only makes sense when you're playing the race card. But real supremacy includes the whole. Better isn't limited to one group. You place yourself above the lot and they're beneath you. Black, white, brown, etc.

White privilege is a misnomer. Allowance is a better word. I "permit" you to have certain spoils. But I can always take them back. As you're witnessing. Elitism has no room for others outside itself.

But it definitely leaves me feeling (once again) that women only matter to these people when there's a preferred oppressed social group to worry about.

Protecting women was the justification many used for their behavior towards black men. Its propaganda. But why rebuild the wheel when the strategy worked before? Rinse and repeat.

Exactly.

What makes the "android" metaphor so sneakily powerful is it begins by making us buy into the inferiority of androids, and then forces us to question our prejudice.

Man Rutger Hauer was something wasn't he?

You speak of a peaceful remedy after my people were murdered and robbed of their land; and that the ancestors of those who were imported here, are entitled to be paid by the rightful owners, to occupy the land that was robbed from my ancestors?

Is this your idea of a peaceful remedy?

Are you suggesting that the land wasn't rightly divided, following the Great Flood?

Over 1.5 million white people were slaves to North African Muslims over the course of centuries. You can read about it here: The Untold Story of White Slavery - American Renaissance

I find it abhorrent regardless of which race is on which side of the story. People have lost their minds if they find this in any way appropriate, and it's not going to help anything. In the past there were similar portrayals of this type of behavior being done to blacks, but it was to showcase how terrible they were treated, and it was informative. This is being done in a vindictive, and vengeful kind of way. Simply to show hate. Mind you I wouldn't like it if they were neo-nazis doing it to blacks, or jews either.

All in all I find it to be unhelpful in light of our current situation, and in poor taste since it's being done for any reason other than to showcase what actually happened. This will invoke anger, and not sympathy. Will draw people further apart rather than closer together.

This race madness needs to stop. If the civil war ended 164 years ago, then don't you think that the problems of that time should have ended 164 years ago too?

I can trace my great great etc, etc, grandfather back to the Tudor times when Henry the 7th ruled, but am I going to go out of my way to track down the family that didn't pay him back for a pig that he let them buy and he never got the money for? Do I then go after whoever is the descendant of my great great grandfather's such and such neighbor who bought the pig and ask him to pay for that pig even though he himself didn't do it and it was actually his great great such and such grandfather that didn't pay?

Move on lad, move on! This race stuff is getting old!
