Deuteronomy 4:6. Keep therefore and do; for this is your wisdom and
your understanding
in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes,
and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

1 Kings 4:29. And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding,
and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.

The wisdom and understanding attained by the book of the Law was by obedience.
Solomon was given something greater. Men of Levi with a good heart were gifted
to assist the people with comprehending the book of the Law.

Nehemiah 8:8. So they read distinctly from the book, in the Law of God;
and they gave the sense, and helped to understand the reading.

The Holy Spirit enables all who are devoted to the Word of God to have this
"largeness of heart".

2 Timothy 2:15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Inversely, from Jeremiah we can infer that those who reject YHWH's word have no wisdom.

Jeremiah 8:9
The wise are put to shame, alarmed, entrapped. They have rejected the word of Adonai, so what wisdom do they have?

Ironically, they reject God's Wisdom; by wisdom.
1 Corinthians 1:
20
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom*;
23
but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Yes, that doesn't translate very well. To our handicap, being of a Western mindset, our inherent understanding is built on abstract Greek philosophy. This makes it more challenging to understand the concrete nature of YHWH's word.

God's Wisdom comes from above.
James 3:
13
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct his works
in the meekness of wisdom.
14
But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Too much of all these are found in religious institutions, as a testimony of earthly, sensual and even demonic influences.
Hence, confusion and every evil.
