I got mine when I turned 21...that the earliest age my state allows to carry a concealed weapon. Didn't have to take any classes back then....don't think any required currently either.

My girlfriend since I met her, while she "owned" a handgun, doesn't want them in our home when we get married, until recently. She asked her ex for her handgun back instead of me having to go and buy one, and he, unfortunately, sold it. So when we went out to dinner with my parents last week to meet a family friend, we stopped into Bass Pro Shops to see what they have.
She has changed her mind about having a handgun. so, now I have been looking.

I knew when we went into basically totalitarian shutdown over a virus we probably were never going to be the same America. Now look ! Not that the virus wasn't real mind you . But what an opportunity for a take over and so they are.

I hate the term "The New Normal"
But the New Normal will look exactly like the Old Normal, except it will be different.
All of the Protests are doing nothing but making the divide Bigger, Deeper, Wider than it has ever been, and the emotions on both sides right at the surface, where they can flair into violence at any moment.

I could do the online thing and get the Virginia CCW license, but I want to take the classes here as the license is good in more states (not that I will ever travel that much), and I like the classroom environment and the opportunity to meet others of like mind, swap ideas, etc.

They already know that I have a hunting rifle. But they don't know if I own any guns that I might have obtained prior to new purchases through a licensed dealer. Also it is still legal to buy and sell, or gift, personally owned guns. Lots of guns change hands that way.
If the government comes for my guns they can have them as America will be all over anyway. The only thing I won't accept is the mark of the beast.

Deep down I always thought this country was going to go down the tubs and I'd need to buy a gun for protection eventually, but I was thinking that would be during my 60s and 70s.. sadly the disintegration of this country might come much sooner. Then again maybe it's just alarmism on my part. Hard to put things into context during more chaotic times.

Seniors are especially attractive to thugs. Many home invasions are of older folks that can't defend themselves. Many grow fearful for no other reason than age.
I was looking at a property online once and decided to do a 'drive by'. I stopped briefly outside of the house for a looksee. The older couple saw me and became quite afraid and upset as they feared such a home invasion. This was reported to me by the realtor. I was surprised as my vehicle isn't the kind thugs would drive, and I was only there for a few moments, in the middle of the day.
