Food for thought on the cup of salvation

In redeeming us with His blood from our fallen condition and back to the family of God is God's full blessing. The Lord's table includes the cup of blessing. The blessing is the enjoyment of the fellowship with Him with God Himself as our portion.

Psalms 16:5
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.

In Adam our lot (or portion) was the cup of God's wrath, because we were of our father, satan.

Revelation 14:10
they will also drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured unmixed into the cup of his anger, and they will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

Christ drank of that cup for us

John 18:11
Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword back into its sheath. Am I not to drink the cup that the Father has given me?”

And His blood constitutes the cup of salvation for us

Psalms 116:13
I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord,

Filled to overflowing

Psalms 23:5
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

When we have fellowship with Christ we partake of this cup and He will not partake of it until the Kingdom is fulfilled in you.

1 Corinthians 10:16
The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?

And He said to them, "Take this, and divide it among yourselves; for I tell you that from now on I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

Eagles wintering reminds me that the fruit of the olive tree, who’s root is in the Father, while Christians, being the branches of the vine that is Christ, produce fruit in coldest weather. Waiting on the Lord to rise on wings like eagles is the significance I guess. There are a lot of eagles in the trees outside that I love to watch too.

Usually there was an olive tree in the corner of a vineyard in most biblical depictions and both olive and fig tree represent Christian origins. So that’s the fig leaf in the dove’s mouth on the profile pic which is not a new picture by any stretch of the imagination. I’ve had much newer pictures than that as an avatar.

The Aramaic bible says rise up like a dove so I’m not sure what the difference would be in translation.

Well, maybe when our strength and youth are renewed we will respond to misfortunate happenings and accomplish His good works.

Well, thankfully God had His passengers shut inside and not clinging to the side of the boat. If you don’t have security in faith then faith isn’t existent. I feel bad for those who don’t have that security.

The dove was also His passenger...a passenger pigeon, if you will...an extension of Noah.

The Bible states:

Many, but not all, Christians believe:

In Matthew 24 Jesus states:

For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. [Matthew 24:21, 24 NKJV]
These false Christs will perform great signs and are no ordinary people "For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty." (Revelation 16:14) Satan's angels will also appear as godly clergymen, and Satan will appear as an angel of light.[80] "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works." (2 Corinthians 11:13-15) "As his crowning miracle, Satan will claim to be Jesus"[80] (Matthew 24:23, 24).

As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will personate Christ. The church has long professed to look to the Saviour's advent as the consummation of her hopes. Romans 8:2-4
For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the Law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.…

Law is often stated as the path, truth, or righteousness that are used as attributes of the law, not synonyms to. (Synonyms for language i.e.: accent. dialect. expression. jargon. prose. sound. speech. style.)

The efficiency of Christ’s finished work, that of justification for salvation, further reveals the grace that the law was incapable of reproducing. Simply put, the law is lifeless without the work of the Holy Spirit which is provided to Christians. The missing link provided is implementation within the heart to the principle of obedience that works in love.

The perpetual goodness of the Father exhorts us to give Him thanks, always. Every communication with Him is meant to result in the soul becoming bold in confidence to trust in Him. Holiness in His presence is felt and in Him repose is found. 1 Corinthians 14:26

Blessed are those who find their happiness to be in obedience, the meaning of joy impressed upon the soul to be one in His work, rest in being delivered from one’s own will and way. Isaiah 53:6 for those who seek Him with their whole hearts because of being upon the path of the Lord, and who delight in the light of each step of the way.

Intent is an interesting word because it gives the position of one’s dwelling place. Jesus tabernacled amongst us and we were made aware of His intention.

Song 2:4 He brought me to the house of the wine, and his intention [was] love toward me.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Sins are written with iron pens on the tablets of the heart Jeremiah 17:1

Christ tabernacled at the tree planted by living waters where His people going into captivity did not. Jeremiah 2:17 A tree growing by the river absorbs all of the nutrients that the water has to offer 1 Corinthians 3:6 to achieve full growth Colossians 2:19 by absorbing the essence from God. Revelation 4:3, Revelation 21:11

The heart is deceitful above things
And it is incurable
who can know it

Even a stone heart can be written upon Jeremiah 31:33, 2 Corinthians 3:3 to produce better from good out of evil.

Ezek 36:26
A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
