Did I say half angel? So why even use the term Nephilim? Why is the word Nephilim in the bible? So we call any giant or man of renown a Nephilim?
LOL!! Why is any word in the bible?!! It traditionally meant fallen ones---the angel part was added much later. They were a class apart from the rest of Jewish society for they were the product of men of God and unbelieving women---They were fallen from the rest of the believers, it is something that God always hated, and warned against. There was a man kill ed for marrying a heathen woman--both were killed. (Numb. 25) There came a time when a whole bunch of men had married pagan women---the prophet made them kick out all the women and the children. At least those weren't killed! That's in Ezra 10.
It's a problem that still occurs today for men always fall for the pretty little wild things instead of the perhaps plainer, but righteous women. That word is really only used that one time---the children of Anak were descendent from them, which, again, shows genetics at work. There are several words in the bible which are only used once or twice.
