...don’t we all?

But who is it that created the heavens and the earth and all life on earth, and who is it that has the power to create floods, rain death on sinners and manna on those that have wandered in the wilderness, and who has the power of life and death, and to ensure that we are fruitful in our righteous endeavors and that our days be good for ourselves and our loved ones? And who is it that has a place waiting for us with green fields and streams and a house with many rooms, and sunny days, waiting for us when we have lived righteously on earth and then pass on?

It sounds like a good deal, no? But with God, the deal’s not the thing, it is something that no works can initiate...it is our love for Him that will bring us to His House. But true love is thing that happens...it is not something we offer, rather it is what we feel toward Him and whom we give our undivided attention to. The two great commandments of Lord Jesus are that we love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and
We love our neighbor as we love our self. And when we love our neighbor, we are loving God too.

God loves attention to Himself. This isn’t an attempted understanding that may come under the scrutiny of Proverbs 3:5, rather it is the summation of passages in His Book that direct our faith in Him. For instance, we know He is a jealous God from passages such as Exodus 20:5 and Joshua 24:19. And who but someone who loves attention would tend to be jealous?

God’s jealousy is aroused when we go after other gods. His jealousy is aroused when we do things that other gods and the devil himself would look upon with approval, since any evil we do would serve the purposes of other gods and the devil. What are some of those evil things? They are things that cause strife in a household, be it a house or a nation, such that our attention is diverted from Him. They are things like not loving our neighbor or the strangers within our midst, which are things the devil highly encourages. They are things like inequality toward others, for did not God tell us that unequal weights and measures are an abomination, and did he not tell us that HE regards all of us equally? Does the righteousness that God expects from us not mean the same thing, whether you’re a Jew or a Greek, or a master or a servant, or a man or a woman, or black, white, or yellow?

And surely, inasmuch as God commanded us to be fruitful and multiply, the things that prevent each individual from doing these things when they are able to, plays into the hands of other gods and the devil whom, especially, we know would approve of anything that prevents us from acting under the Spirit of God?

For a person that is wrongfully killed will not be able to be fruitful and multiply. Surely this will anger the Lord and make Him jealous, for the devil, whom He sees as His rival for our attention, would surely approve of such action. Those who truly love God will hear the devil’s laughter at each wrongful death or any other evil matter. And those who engage in such wrongful action will feel the wrath of God’s jealousy, either directly, or through the governing authorities that preside in God’s Name, or through the things that work for the sake of goodness with God’s Blessing. And it isn’t a question of if God’s wrath will be felt, but when. If it is not felt while living on earth, it will surely be felt by His judgment when we pass on.

Look at it this way, when the love of your life breaks your heart by going after another, how does it feel? Im talking about the love of your life here and not just some meaningless encounter. Now imagine how The Lord must feel when we, abandon Him and follow other gods. Yup! Absolutely! The Lord wants our undivided attention always. Our hearts to be precise.
