Allegedly. Do you recall this little phrase:

"Innocent until proven guilty."

?

If that's the case for Floyd, then why isn't it the case for the cops? Or the communities in hundreds of locations all around America that are being destroyed?

Are the officers being denied their day in court ?

They're already being referred to as murderers. When has that been proven in a court of law?

But they will have the CHANCE to defend themselves. They took that right away from Floyd.

Okay, they are allegedly murderers and like @adrianmonk pointed out, they are not being denied their day...as Floyd was.

Unfortunately the video doesn't show why Floyd was placed on the ground. He was resisting arrest in the beginning. And he resisted arrest by revisiting being put in the car. So up til that point police were justified in their actions.

I don't think anyone has an issue with officers restraining suspects who are resisting or being belligerent.

As soon as the officer places his knee on his neck he is in violation of policy and law. By failing to get Floyd up into a sitting position he failed to follow proper police procedures and was in violation of law. Those poor people witnessed a man being murdered. The cops that saw what was happening watched were complicit in murder.

That cop should never see the light of day outside of prison again. The other cops should be imprisoned for most of their lives. There is no training that would allow that kind of action. They have tarnished the badge and the honorable profession.

I would say this officer's actions have made the lives of other officers much more dangerous. If a person believes that even something as simple as a traffic stop will result in their death, they have no reason to comply with an officer's instructions.

Police are supposed to work with the communities they police. They serve that community and without trust this becomes extremely difficult to do.

This would never had occurred if Floyd would have complied and not resisted. This would never have occurred if that cop had been fired earlier for his behaviors. He should never have been wearing the badge that day.

Once handcuffed, the suspect should have been placed into the cruiser. This would never have happened if the officers had followed proper protocol. The excessive militarization of the police force is also responsible for this as it allows the police to behave like an occupation force.

Too many times when things like this happen, it takes a bystander video for the cop to actually get prosecuted.

Neither were the cops in the Rodney King trial, but what was the result when they had their day in court after the public had already been conditioned to believe they were guilty while the evidence to the contrary had been withheld?

Are you trying to say that the conviction wasn't correct...and/or the acquittals weren't?

Whatever he was trying to say it had nothing to do with the OP as being more to the story. Seems like another story is on his mind.

Are you trying to say that the protests might ruin the case?

*I don't think it will in this case.

Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs, the Daily Mail reported.

“What is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd. The media will not air this,” police union president Bob Kroll told his members in a letter posted Monday on Twitter.

The 20-page report also indicates that Floyd had fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death, although the drugs are not listed as the cause. Medical Examiner's Autopsy Reveals George Floyd Had Positive Test For Coronavirus

It would seem that the man who the Press refers to as a "gentle giant" and a virtual pillar of the community, it's also time for those who are only willing to focus on the cop's history of people filing complaints about him, it's only fair and equal to show the rest of the story.
And HE was murdered by a bad cop. There's no excuses. Also, It takes more than a week for the toxicology report to come back. I'm very suspicious about them, getting these results so fast. Since that doesn't typically happen.

Justice and peace. The opposite of what the rioters write on their signs.
The opposite of what rioters write on their signs? What did they write on their signs that makes you believe they are against justice and peace?

What this all seems to be boiling down to is a division between those who would uphold a corrupt system and those who will not. And it doesn't matter where on the field we personally reside...whether "white" or "other", "rich" or "poor", "disenfranchised" or "privileged"...all these labels...

...passing away...

I think he is one of those who do not understand the difference between protesters and rioters...

I think it's important that we believers be ready to cast off any label(s) other than what He has provided for us...now, more than ever.

I agree! Most rioters don't even have signs...they are looting. Protesters have signs.

Because we have the cops on videotape.

Got any footage of Floyd?

Can't do that now it ruins the narrative and there is no justification for trying to ruin America that they are doing.
