Why don't you try for content, in context, instead of what you want the Bible to say?

You use a bible version that takes GOD out of a verse and substitutes the word "He".
This ruins the Doctrine regarding the "Deity of Christ" as found in the verse.

1 Timothy 3:16

Because men prefer darkness over the light because their deeds are evil.
John 3:19

-CryptoLutheran

Jesus said that you are to make certain that the light in you is not darkness.

Many people who "sound Christian" are dark lights.
They do not give Christ full credit for saving them and Keeping them saved.
These dark lights, will teach you that YOU keep yourself saved, by SELF EFFORT.

That is an excellent example of legalistic interpretation; it is invalid. Would you please state your translation credentials?

Substituting He for God doesn't change the meaning and you know it; you're just posting some irrelevant trivia. You're a blind guide strains out a gnat yet swallow a camel!

No doctrine is ruined when the meaning of the verse is clear.

Salvation is not based on sacraments.
Its based on The Cross.

I never said it does and it is not based on the cross either.

Eternal Life is given when a person trust in The Messiah for the free gift of Gods Eternal Life.

Salvation is the result of Christ's crucifixion. Without His sacrifice, there is no universal forgiveness of sin.

Jesus dying on the cross served two purposes
1. it took away the sin of the world making everyone eligible for salvation (but with a one condition).
2. it was one of the 8 miracles list in Gospel of John that was to show people that Jesus was who He said He was and that is The promised Messiah from the prophecies of The Tanakh.

Trusting in the cross saves no one, the cross and resurrection should direct a person to The Messiah so they can place their trust in The Messiah for the free gift of Eternal Life.

It is The Messiah that gives Eternal Life not any of his actions or accomplishments that He did.

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

Yes, which is why I reject the false doctrine that my efforts can save me or add anything to Christ's perfect and finished work.

I've been pretty clear in saying that salvation is God's work alone.

Substituting He for God doesn't change the meaning and you know it;

Seminary Trained.
Trained in Manuscript Evidence
Trained in Ethics
Trained in Pauline Theology
Trained in "Ministry Principles".
Have taught all over the world.

Now let me explain something to you.

If you are alone in the universe, and you are not a Christian.
you one day, find 2 bibles.
One says...>>"God was manifested in the Flesh" in 1Tim
One says..>"he". was manifested ... HE WHO?
HE WHO? ???

So, which of those bibles just told someone who has no prior knowledge of the Trinity, or any other Doctrine, that God came to earth?
was it 'HE WHO"?

See your problem, is that you are not realizing that because you already KNOW the doctrine of Jesus is God, that your bible didn't teach you that because that verse can't teach it.
But if you never knew that God was not Jesus manifested in the Flesh, then your bible would keep you ignorant of this Fact.
So, that a big problem with your bible, and with your understanding, as well.

The Messiah's offer is based on the Cross.
Paul said...>"I preach Christ CRUCIFIED".....That is the Gospel.
So, no Cross= no salvation.
The Cross is where Yeshua offered Himself. The Cross is where Redemption is Gained by the Blood of Jesus being shed.

Christ's atoning work on the cross saves us, yes?

-CryptoLutheran

Salvation is always and only....>"the finished WORK of Jesus on the Cross".

Grace through Faith, without works.
Justification BY Faith. without the deeds of the Law.

The only "WORK" that God accepts are these..

"The work of God is that you believe on Jesus whom God sent".

"The finished WORK....of Jesus on the Cross."

Didn't you say you were seminary trained? How did you manage to go to seminary and not cover biblical manuscripts and how translation work is done?

Bingo.

God does everything.
We do nothing.

Exactly like I've been saying throughout this thread.

Semantics ?

" Jesus died on the Cross".= "Jesus Saves". "Receive Jesus as savior"

Its the same Gospel.

We have eternal life because Jesus, who IS Eternal life and THE Resurrection, is in us. "Christ in you, the hope of Glory".
