I don't know if it's just my above-average exposure to current events, but man I'm just tired. Tired of being inundated with basically two distinct, but only two, storylines for months on end. First it was the virus, now it's the riots (and still the virus a little).

My boss (a news director) actually said yesterday, regarding our viewers and what our reporting priorities are, "the only things people care about right now are coronavirus and George Floyd." I tested that out with some different people and all of them, including some liberals, said "nope". They wanted to hear other things as well. But we've been force-fed this crap, chock full of propaganda, for months.

I'm over it. I need to get back to praying the rosary every day and cracking open Sacred Scripture. Mea culpa.

It actually got to a point yesterday when I thought "do you know what? I'd rather not be here at all" - and I'm someone who up until now has remained optimistic and determined.

This is what happens when little fragments of media trickle into your everyday life. They find you and corrupt everything - and I never thought I'd be affected by anything from the media. But this has. And I'm not alone, the world is rapidly losing hope.

Someone could do a story about antifa hiring people with Corona Virus to go into big box stores and cough on old people. The perfect synergy between the two big news stories.

In two weeks time we will know how big of a deal the coronavirus was..

Because the same people who decided we needed to be prisoners in our own homes are the ones rioting today...

If the riots dont cause a significant spike in COVID deaths then we need to call foul on that bit of trash.

Well said, and very true. I'm not sure how it is in the UK, but for the past three years the tentacles of the media have infected and influenced every aspect of public life. There's no neutral territory anymore.

Now that's galaxy brain stuff right there, I like your innovation.

Indeed. It amuses me that so many who were critical about reopening states two weeks ago for the economy's sake, saying it was stupid or dangerous or "DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT THE ELDERLY?!" are now completely mum on the massive throngs of protestors and rioters flooding the streets of every major U.S. city (not to mention all the cities abroad). They're violating every major recommendation made by the CDC or even their precious WHO. The message there is "coronavirus concerns only take a backseat to those issues that we believe will fundamentally restructure the country to our liking."

I think that's just the message. Since Trump won the presidential race it's been non-stop attacks on everything we stand for - because it opposes their desire for globalization.

They got to the point it was all within their reach, from the TPP and TAA etc which eroded our national sovereignty, if they won the white house they would be able to overturn most of what we are.. so now it's just a constant attack on everything.

That's what has made me exhausted, because it won't stop until there is bloodshed, and it's a bloodshed I didn't want to see here... No man made system is perfect, but it's the best anyone has ever been able to do, and now the enemy is within the gates.

They want only war, but it's war against our way of life.

It could be coincidental, but I probably see more American news than British news - especially at the moment with very little else actually going on besides "wash your hands and stay two meters apart." I would warmly welcome some Brexit debates now - at LEAST that would be a positive and productive topic to be discussing. The world just seems to be focused solely on destruction and devastation. I've woken up today determined to rethink my outlook.

American politics has always been rife over here, mostly because we have quite possibly the worst press in the world that LOVE to slander anybody (even their own!) - SO it really pays to not read the papers over here. The local rags are always nicely balanced, but the big nationals are just a bear pit of negativity. I literally have NO idea how some of them ever got a job in the media; they just sound so ignorant. Some of these online articles honestly look as if they were typed up by a twelve year old for a homework project or something.

Oddly enough, the best news coverage I've ever seen was when I was travelling the far east - Korean news particularly, is very well presented.

Well you are in the media business so I suspect you are burnt out on it. I keep up on it but there are other things to talk about. I know I have never liked partisans but doubly so now.

Our system was not totally man made, we were formed as a nation under God, we respected God and were blessed. So many have rejected God in it by now, one wonders if this nation's Godly veil of protection has been lifted. These things look human made but I'm one who believes everything has a spirit behind it. And there are only two kinds, good vs evil. All through scripture we see God's hand in the nations, when things turn rough they most often were under chastisement and what God was looking for was a turn back to Him. These bad actors were see I doubt even know who God is. We as a people in this time, true Christians not looking to end things by violence must align with God and take anyone willing along with us. This is a time of harvest, we need to point to God Jesus just like the Holy Spirit points us to God Jesus. The spiritual hearts of man in our country are broken and they are far from God. We can't give up the hope that some will turn, nor the hope that God will rise up an individual maybe even from one them who turns and sees His shining light.

We love God, "God with Us", the Great "I Am", the "Intercessor", "The God Above All gods", the "Holy One", "Son Of God" , "Son of man", "God of heaven", the "Alpha, the Omega", "All Knowing God", The "King of Kings" and "El"= God". He's still on the throne. Amen ?

I'd like to hear about this storm Cristobal.
The reason I can be upbeat is because I have two dogs and they don't pay any attention to the news, it just doesn't bother them, they are really amazing how they can stay so happy at this time.

I am not losing hope at all. To me, the more the prophecies are fulfilled, the stronger is my faith.

What would make it even better is if trailer trash white supremacists who lost their job at Walmart took these jobs.

Maybe someone should make a poll about this to see how it plays out even here? I think I've only alluded to it once on the forum throughout this whole thing, but one of my major criticisms of the protests is very much that people have abandoned social distancing, are out there screaming without masks, and as a result, we're likely to end up with an immediate second wave in a couple weeks. I don't know to what degree the people protesting (especially without masks), much less outright rioting, are the same ones who were against reopening.

Who is completely mum? I thought the point of the OP was exactly the opposite of everyone being completely mum.

Scripture and prayer. I downloaded a new devotional book onto my kindle. I'm zooming bible study with my daughter on Thursday. We have to stay Christ centered, He's our peace and our hope and protection.

Tired of it ? You bet but this isn't going away and we may never be like we were when it subsides how ever far off that is. Hah, I found myself digging out old ammo, looking at some guns in cases that I have, watching defense videos, thinking the worst scenarios when the Holy Spirit knocked earlier this morning and seemed to be saying "Remember me David " ? " I'm Still Here" ! Our hope is in Him, our God, He never loses control but man sure does.

Haha... ANYONE on the left is, in my honest opinion, our greatest enemy. They have been at war with everything this country has always stood for, for years now, and they feel themselves quite emboldened and are attempting to destroy us forever.

My love of freedom ensures I will vote for no one else.

I believe in the rule of law. I believe in religious freedom. I believe in freedom and peace...

Good luck with your campaign to destroy America... but I assure you, you'll never win.
Nice evasion. You claimed:

Because the same people who decided we needed to be prisoners in our own homes are the ones rioting today..."
This is a falsehood.
An untruth.
An inaccurate statement.

The fact is this: Medical experts advised governments to implement the restrictive measures.

And medical experts would be the last ones to be rioting.
