You'd be surprised how often the latter leads to the former.

Civil disobedience - Wikipedia

Unless you'd rather be sipping tea and singing "God Save the Queen" right about now...
What is civil about flying bricks, burning cars, burning buildings, beatings, shootings, killings, cars running over people

Yesterday, June 1, 2020 ... peaceful protests at the White House were dispersed prior to curfew ... to clear the area before Trump marched to the historic St. John's Church ... where he held up a Bible ... upside down ...

Good. Get these terrorists off the streets... bunch of murderers and thugs. Good riddance all of them.

The rest of us don't care much for anarchy.

If any president was going to walk to a cathedral on the street they would clear the way. They don't want to move, well they gotta move em. It all looks pretty simple to me. You can be sure the whole place was staked out too, as it would be for any president.

This was a planned event (planned for months) to show unity around the premise of religious liberty, something Pope John Paul 2 fought for in his life. This was the 100th anniversary of his birth I believe.

Understandably these fascists trying to bring our country down don't believe in religious liberty, (and certainly not something the Catholic church seems to believe in) but that's their own problem, and hasn't been echoed by every Pope.

The president should not be allowed to be killed by a bunch of nut jobs, he's the president of the United States - and we are a nation of laws.

The protesters at the White House were peaceful.

The American right to peaceful protest is not jettisoned because of the acts of others ... in other places.

Are you sure that you support the American right to peaceful protest ?

Generally speaking look at the accusers and what they are accusing, that's what they are up to ! We've been on to that tactic for decades, yet they persist, because they have an agenda. One day truth will prevail and be in the open...

The protestors at the white house were breaking down the barriers and being violent, beating people in the streets, on tape.

Peaceful my rear.

I'm done with people being attacked in the street, murdered, injured, beaten.. and I'm not buying the lies, I feel sorry for you that you are so easily snowed.

The even injured a 1 year old baby when they were smashing in car windows in broad daylight with their peaceful protesting....

Arrest them all! Tear gas them I don't care! This ends!

You dont like it here then leave!

Yes ( well I do, I shouldn't speak for hp). The bad actors should be brought to justice and all through the ranks starting with top officials ( and they are involved, make no mistake about it).

Do you have any evidence of this ?

Because I watched the entire event ... as it unfolded.

Not even Trump's media says that anyone was ... "breaking down the barriers and being violent, beating people in the streets ... "

Even they know that you can't argue with a video recording ...

Look it up! You know, stop watching hate TV 24/7 and you might just see what's going on...

What's a baby in diapers ever done to anyone? Huh?

Stop it! Just stop... there's nothing Christian about this!

There was no baby in diapers at the White House protest ... thankfully, since they were gassed.

You may be thinking of an incident in Richmond, Virigina ... no ?

When it comes to following the COMMAND of God dems are all, oh no that's evil, but when it's comes to setting post offices and businesses on fire, beating people half to death in the streets and attacking people based on the fact they are white, or have a business, or are trying to protect others that's just fine right...???

Ill have you know you have it backwards. We follow the law and show love to our neighbors but we put God above all... we dont beat people in the streets and we dont support those who do, unless it's to support government doing the one job it has to do - punish the evildoers so we can live in that peace. And we follow the few commands we were given to follow, even if it cost us our life!

Those who have it backwards don't know my God...

Ordering peaceful protestors to disperse on whim is a violation of 1st Amendment rights.

Not if they’re asking them to move aside so that the President can pass thru. They’re not telling them to go home or stop protesting. Contrary to popular belief, evidently, the police do actually have the authority to disperse people from public areas for many reasons. Escorting the president being one of them.

That was a separate event. The trip to St John’s was, I believe earlier and had not been planned. Trump only started considering it after a fire there the night before.

Protesters start fires near the White House, police fire tear gas into crowd

Retired police captain shot to death at St. Louis pawn shop in slaying caught on Facebook Live

^^^ hate black men too do you? Think they should die for trying to protect a business?

Not even infants are safe from the insanity you promote:

You all make me nothing but sick...

That is being reviewed by the courts.
Didn't the USSC reject claims that it was a violation of the 1st amendment. I think their arguments were along the lines that religious people had to follow the same laws as everyone else.

But why would it need to be reviewed in the first place, given the argument here that people just need to go along with whatever members of the executive branch make up.

Yes and some of that would not be happening if people followed the directions of the police. Freedom and non compliance with lawful authority are not the same thing.

I am not a big 2nd amendment fan, I think the amendment needs to be modified to reflect 21st century’s society.

Having said that, if I am not mistaken you believe in 2nd amendment. But your post contradicts completely what 2nd amendment stands for. If you truly believe you need to be compliance with lawful authority even when the authority is wrong or discriminating you, then 2nd amendment should be abolished. But I know you don’t believe that. So what I get is that you want others “black Americans/ brown Americans” to be compliance with “lawful authority”, but for you , it is a different set of rule. That is exactly why people are protesting, enough of different sets of rules for “ people of color”!
