It is not fair for you to post links and expect others to dig through them to find evidence that is almost certainly not even there.

I was just pondering the same thing. If such a barrier is at the edge of the solar system; is there something similar at the edge of the universe?

I don't believe that it is very insulative however. The article says low density plasma. It seems that the article is misleading. When an electron moves through a conductor; a tremendous amount of heat is created at the molecular level. I forgot how much heat; but it seems I remember in the millions of degrees. This however is quickly dissipated to all of the surrounding molecules. So even though one molecule might be at a million degrees for a fraction of a second, the overall conductor might only reach a few degrees over the ambient temperature.

I wouldn't want to be the size of a molecule; when an electron passed nearby!

If a million degree plasma particle makes contact with a mass of trillions upon trillions of molecules; would there be any significant effect on the mass, biological or not?

The probe passed through this low density plasma without harm; and I suspect that my conductor example presents a good analogy.

This plasma barrier must be extremely low density; or it would seem that we should be able to see the radiation from it, at such high heat.

I don't have enough information to really grasp what they're trying to say here.
