Thanks Carl.

However, I have noticed that those "chasing" conspiracy theories are having their faith in Christ reinforced.

I see them as people who test things that are worthy of testing.
I see them as people who don't just believe anything that they are told.
I see them as people who hold the word of God higher than the musings of mere mortal men.

Please to hear that...

I have close friends who have lost faith and become obsessed with 911 and such...

I guess the difference is how robust faith is in the first place???

They seem to be bound by fear. my heart breaks for anyone in that place, for whatever reason. I know that suffering only too well.

I think what i find difficult though, and this is a horrible thing to admit, is that my compassion for them is outweighed by my anger towards they way some of them push these theories on to others even more fearful and vulnerable than they are. some really COULD lose faith over the theories they push.

I am very far from being like Jesus. i am very far from even being human or christian at times. yet i keep getting this sense of how it must have been for Jesus to flip over the merchants tables in the temple. i see the weakest souls in christendom being crushed by these horrible doctrines and i just feel so red eyed ANGRY!!!

The ones I’ve seen here and what some of my family members believe are just dangerous lies. I’m of the opinion Christians should not entertain them. But there is no use discussing this with a conspiracy theorist because no amount of facts satisfies them.

There are much more dangerous lies.... presented by the media as solid truth. Truth, today, doesn't matter.. Only the "appearance" of truth is what rules.

At least the conspiracy theorists discuss things.... The "Fake News" presents it as fact and censors anyone who tries to expose it as a lie...

But... the winds of change will come.. as we are seeing even now.

Friends I have noted a trend that folks drawn away from the faith in many cases chase conspiracy theories of one sort or another.

Is this a basic crisis of relating to authority.

Is it that authorities are becoming more corrupt?

I am not asking for a thread that opens the door to discuss various theories, maybe some scriptures that warn against this - can we keep the topic general.

Thanks,

Carl Emerson.

I don't necessarily believe it is because Christians are becoming more corrupt. Satan is just very cleaver at getting believers to believe lies.

As an example from my own life, of being deceived, I had a long running dream that seemed to be about the end times, in a part of the dream I saw a giant wave, like a tsunami coming, along with end time themes. I just happened to stumble upon many other YouTube videos where Christians had had similar dreams with the same theme. One guy claimed God had given him spiritual insight and that a giant meteor was going to hit the earth on a certain date, causing a giant tsunami, starting the end times. Having seen so many videos claiming the end times was coming, i began to believe the dream was a warning from God, and began to warn people of the impending doom. I believed the guys vision must have come from God. It turns out that the guy was 100% wrong, and no meteor came. So I was preaching something entirely wrong, due to a combined deception.

But you have to realise I was not in any sin, I had no sin in my life. Yet circumstance led me to believe a lie. Satan set up many Christians to look silly, how, possibly seeding dreams, and false visions into the body of Christ.
