You have a strange definition of "problem." I wish more states had that problem.

Try reading what I wrote and the post to which I was responding. I never said that having a low infection rate was a problem. I said that the fact that we had a low rate may be why people are so quickly going out without masks. That is the problem.

The real question is why you want a state that has been successful at keeping infection rates low to learn to imitate states that have not.

Part of the reason why we had a low rate was because the governor took quick action. Restaurants and bars were closed Except for takeout. Hair salons and barbershops were closed. Liquor stores remained open, but they were off limits to people from other states. Masks were required in public. They still are but now that we are opening back up people seem to be ignoring that.

Do you hate your neighbors?

I don’t hate anyone. Try reading the thread. I haven’t said such a thing anyplace.

easy to forget to maintain distance with or w/o masks
often I sit by window & can see neighbors

people start out 6 feet apart but as they talk, one or both start stepping closer to each other

natural tendency to move closer

Church goers should obey all laws.

But, hard to find one that does.

Deep inside they know
how dirty they are (me)
and we need Jesus.

M

very true. but if you saw someone in your church not wearing a mask would you judge them or would you consider maybe they have autism or asthma or somethign else you may not know about that would make wearing a mask difficult?

I would ask.

For the record I have asthma and once almost died from an asthma attack, but I wear a mask when I go out. People who can’t wear a mask should limit their trips to cases when they have to go out. For example, if they are out of food and cant find a friend or family member to go for them.

some asthmatics can wear them, (i can) but some struggle. and what if those people need to go to work? in my ciuntry not everyone is working at home- some are essential workers....i have to leave my house for exercise for severe physical and mental health issues i have a special note from proffessionals that i need to kep a normal ish routine going- i give thsat to any policeman who questions me etc..am blessed that i can wear a mask for half an hour without asthma being affected. but what if i couldnt?????

but what if they not comfortable explaining to your their health diagnoses? or maybe they have multiple complex ones???

do you really think nobody sahould leave their homes untila vacine is found??? bcaue you are looking at 2 years. 2 years at least. in the meantime the economy turn sinto 1930s style depression, many commit suicide or turn to drink or drugs????

i ado nto want any vulnerable people to die of Covid. i amyself am in that vulnerbale category and my loved ones are too. but we cannot expect the many to be sacrficed for a few...

Jesus wants us to love ourselves AND our fellow man. sometimes we need to put our health first. asthma is as bad as covid. if not a lot worse actually.

The problem is that if they have the virus and go out without a mask, it is much more likely that they will pass the disease on the others. What about them?

yes, i understand that but the need of others to not get the virus does not trump the issues they may have if they are made to wear a mask. my autsitc friend cant wear a mask. stayign at home not an option for her- she works. many autistic people do. what about her rights? how do we choose? ourselves or others? it must be a personal decision for eeryone.

ok you ask them, but please be gentle with them and if they say they have a health issue dont question it! Jesus was gentle and we have to be too.

because if we harsh to someone we could cause them to turn away from the faith and reject Jesus. they could end up in hell... hell is worse than even covid or anything else.

if we dont reject jesus we wont go to hell. ever. no matter what. so my friend whtehr she wears a mask or not, is not of eternal significance. surely?

But requiring masks may save lives. To me that is of primary importance. And remember the OP was specifically addressing not wearing them to stores, not wearing them at work. You are of course entitled to your own views.

oh ok. it was the sytay at home thing you sdaid i felt i needed to address. i dont support that. we can go anywhere we want. but i do believe we should maintain social distancing and wash hands everywhere we go. there is amuch bigger risk of cathcing covd by touching surfaces.the other way to catchis from droplets transmitted by an infection person coughing in the air. thankfuly at his time of year, not many people coughing.

i mean i believe the majority of people should wear masks to the store, to the gym, to the doctors, on the bus, on the train etc.....anywhere indoors they go in public. i dont disagree with you there. i just believe we need to not assume peopel dont have a reason. a minority of people struggle with masks and i am not sure we should be policing them? that is the job of those in authority to them like cops etc

Not only are there people that can't wear mask, the jury is still out about if the mask are really effective. Some scientist say mask are and others say masks are not and can make a person sick

i am not against masks, but because in summer fewer people are coughing droplets in the air, i think a bigger risk for covid is not washing hands. i wpuld liek to see soap dispensers everywhere in public with 60% and upwards hand gel in them. and social distancing enforced more. where i live people have stopped caring a smuch about SD which scares me

I am not for mask particularly as I don't believe they make any difference and mask can get you sick possibly but I use one at Church and carry one around if someone else I run into has a mask. The top doc says that most likely there won't be another wave and I seen an article from Italy that says the virus appears to be weakening so I don't think there will be much longer to worry about this. In the states here if it had not been for some governors forcing nursing homes to take back covid elderly patients it wouldn't be that bad here

Wishful thinking. There are already 100,000 people dead in the US from the COVID-19 virus -- reported deaths that is -- and all medical personnel, first responders, and others wear them.

BTW, who is this "top doc" who makes this claim? The general consensus among medical people is that the COVID-19 virus remains contagious and extremely dangerous until a vaccine is discovered. Single, unsubstantiated opinions don't amount to much more than propaganda.
