Is such a thing even possible ?

.
That brought a chuckle to me.

That is the result of the media group Sinclair, a conservative group that has been taking advantage of the lax non-competive laws that use to prevent them from buying channels across regions. It has been known for a while now.

That is very different than staging a news team to be falsely arrested. Not to mention, it doesn't look like the team was doing anything wrong, other than being in the wrong spot at the wrong time, and the police on the ground not questioning their orders.

ETA: Maybe some of the same folks who sat on a guy's neck for 8 minutes while on camera.

One person did that, not a group of "the same folks." If you actually watched the video then you know only one person committed the act you cite. True, the other three stood around and refused to interfere, and for that they have all rightfully been fired from the police force. But there was no cabal of people who went out that day with the premeditated intent to kill Mr. Floyd.

There were three officers on Floyd, not one. Only one is visible through most of the video, but there are shots from other angles (I forget if they're within the same video or a separate video altogether) showing two more officers kneeling on him. One was on his neck; the other two are lower on his body.

Seriously. Who thinks that arresting reporters on camera is a good idea?

ETA: Maybe some of the same folks who sat on a guy's neck for 8 minutes while on camera.

I've honestly been continually shocked by some of the things certain police will do when they have to know they're on camera. Like, this one officer planted evidence that was caught on a camera he had on his body.

I'm just...what do you think will happen? How is that in any way a good idea?

That isn't what you said. You said, quote:

"Maybe some of the same folks who sat on a guy's neck for 8 minutes while on camera."

This situation is difficult enough as it is without intentional distortion of the actual facts.

You're reading too much into my statement about "folks who sat on a guy's neck". If you go back to my post where I said that, I started out by saying, "Who thinks that arresting reporters on camera is a good idea?"

Which I then followed with, "ETA: Maybe some of the same folks who sat on a guy's neck for 8 minutes while on camera."

My point was not that there was some cabal of people who committed the attack. My point was that I was amazed somebody in law enforcement would do something so stupid while they knew they were on camera and then I realized that "cops doing something bad on camera" was how this whole situation started in the first place.

How about you actually provide some evidence that it's fake or staged instead of just claiming it is?

Always the same Canned Responses of "provide some evidence" "tin foil hat" etc.

Well, excuse for thinking you might base your accusations on facts, like a sensible person.

I am trying to keep an open mind, but I don't see a reason to doubt this isn't real. It doesn't look staged to me, or like the CNN crew was provoking the police. Is CNN going to broadcast this for the next 24-hours? Sure, though it is fading into the background now as people are apologizing and no charges were filed.

I just don't see the advantage CNN would get from this. It was a dumb thing for the police to do and most admit that. I don't think anything big will come from it, though something should.

It's not even necessarily that. There's simply services that write stories for the news stations but and they often just repeat them verbatim. It's similar to the wire services newspapers use. Certain companies, like Sinclair, are more strict and demand their stations air certain things.

Looks Staged and Fake.

.
It could be somewhat on CNN's side in the sense of pushing boundaries but I don't see the police being in on it.

CNN was of course explicitly compliant and willing to move and also did not resist which is all the right moves for the camera but that doesn't mean their positioning wasn't strategic to invoke a confrontation such as what happened. I'm sure the reporter didn't get charged with anything but burning buildings, riot gear and a brown man named Omar getting arrested is really good click bait and CNN knows that better than anyone.

Some are becoming obsessed with the influence of implicit biases, but they are the most difficult to actually address. It's not something that's going to be solved with a weekend sensitivity-training class.
