Watch as police take CNN team into custody on live television
Minnesota police arrest CNN reporter Omar Jimenez and crew - CNN Video

A peaceful, compliant news crew, not interfering with anything, arrested without instruction or explanation in the middle of a broadcast.

I can’t understand why the citizens of Minnesota don’t trust their police.
Notice how they ask the cops repeatedly where they should go, and the cops basically ignore them? I’ve witnessed this multiple times; it’s clearly a tactic. They tell you to move, but not where, and then often tell you you can’t be where you move to. I’ve been told to get off of the street, moved to the sidewalk, then told the sidewalk was closed.

The arrest is confirmed by various news groups. The arrested reporter says the officer taking the first guy said he was just following orders and did not know why he was helping to arrest the reporter.

And it looks like they later confirmed the ID's of the CNN reporters, and the guys are back out there :)

This was a state police op, it seems . . . not the local Minneapolis police.

Officers in riot gear had just taken a protester who had broken the line; that apprehension appeared nonviolent, just riot geared guys running to intercept the protester who just stood still when met by the officers. And it seems the reporters were nearby. I see how the reporters in the same vicinity could have been misunderstood . . . though they did identify themselves. It was possibly in the momentum of stopping the one violator of the line, that a supervisor associated the crew with the protester . . . especially if the super was getting verbal feedback and not what was clear on the news footage . . . which was live. It does seem likely that someone viewing from a distance had given orders, and likely was not watching TV which showed it all live.

Even so, the report is the guys on the ground showed their badges. But do on-the-ground troopers all know badges, and how well does this work when they're getting orders from a distance?

This is more or less of a war zone situation; so imperfect people can make mistakes and be confused. The reporters handled it well, and it seems they were not abused. But if you do things which can set off an abusive person . . . this is why I always am even hospitable with any police officer while I am being checked. I know ones can be domestic abusers and short-tempered; so I play it safe.

But George was indeed apparently not being combative. And the mayor says he expects a murder charge.

Do you just disbelieve everything that you are told and see on TV?

Pretty much.

Please explain in detail what made it look staged and fake.
It is confirmed to be a live broadcast. And in order to make such a fake arrest, you would need to pay to outfit some number of people with fake riot police gear.

And you can see how those officers to the right move in unison to go out and intercept the lone protester who broke the line. I consider that fakers would not be able to perform so well, in unison and all that they do. They move, then the camera shows the interception, and right next comes the conversation and arrests of news people.

Fakers would have to pay for the outfits, and train to act in a show of such professional unison, and trick the head of worldwide CNN to phone the governor and trick the governor.

And, like I consider, it could have been only human error > they catch the lone protester, by then someone at a distance sees there are news guys in the vicinity and supposes they are guilty . . . by association. But the on-the-ground guys can't make their own judgment; so they have to obey the distant supervisor.

Then they clear things up, and already the arrested guy is right back on the street. They made a mistake, they unmade the mistake.

You already said that. Please explain in detail what made it look staged and fake. Help us understand.
From the book The Crown of a Life (1869) by Isa Blagden:
"If a lie is only printed often enough, it becomes a quasi-truth, and if such a truth is repeated often enough, it becomes an article of belief, a dogma, and men will die for it."

What makes you think you're talking to a real person rather than a Russian bot account disseminating disruptive messages? Looks fake and staged to me.

Anyone have a booking report or charges?

View attachment 277849
Chances are they were going to book them, but someone at the station figured out it was a mistake and let them go before the charges were booked.

It doesn't mean the event didn't happen and was still a big red flag for freedom of the press and police procedures.

• Agent Provocateur -
  1. a person who induces others to break the law so that they can be convicted.

    .
Like most conspiracy theorists, you make wild allegations that you seem certain of, then get all coy and vague when asked for specifics. I’m not sure what agent provocateurs, which are generally police or other authorities, would have to do with the press being arrested. Agent provocateurs aim to make the protesters look bad, not the other way around.

please explain what specifically looked fake or staged. I’m not sure why you would keep that from us if you really have specific reasons and you’re not just letting your imagination run wild.

Forget the badges, you'd think the multi-person production crew and $100k worth of pro a/v gear would be a dead giveaway. It's not like these guys were just recording on a cell phone.

How is the CNN reporting team an Agent provocateur?
By politely asking the police what they wanted the crew to do, of course. What could be more provocative?
