Amen to that! Just because someone was too afraid for so many years to question his/her faith, doesn’t mean it gives way to turn away from them when they need God In such times of need!

How does he know what he believes if he doesn't question it.

The internet is full of sites questioning and answering questions on or about Christianity.

Some are very well known like Ken Ham's Answers in Genesis, and you do not have to be a yec to read the articles there that defend the authenticity and reliability of the Bible.
As a ' Christian rock star- he would be able to easily get access to many well know apologists or famous preachers and ask them questions.

He is able to say I no longer believe, but couldn't say I have questions and doubts and need help.

Here is a practical point.
Ask your minister what he would have said if he had come to him with that ?
Also ask how is he training his congragation to be able to answer those questions?

It's always sad when such things happen. The only way he'll get to understand the character of the Father is, by prayerfully studying it always. But now, since he is saying the reverse of that seems to happen, when ever he reads the bible, then I don't know.

Are you saying to go to the Internet for answers that only God can answer?

That’s my issue, at least it was an issue I had when I was young. I listened to too many teachings of man about God and it only confused me - and that could be what happened to that person in the article. I choose grace rather than outright assuming a person’s life.

These people need prayer and guidance from God.

You can use what ever source of information you want. There are loads of books that have been written that make the point that the Bible and Christianity is true.
As many are also out of print or not available in the US or in the UK then articles written about the subject of those books is the next best thing.

One last point. God does not miraculously put information into our brains, he expects us to read it, learn it and then he will bring it to our rememberable. So internet or books it makes no difference.

I see your point but I also see another problem with that reasoning. Yes there are Christian books we can learn from - I’m not saying we can’t, but we also need to be very careful with what we read as sometimes they aren’t aligned with what scripture teaches.

I just choose to be careful, I allow God to teach me His ways rather than books by people. I had to learn from Him before I could venture out like that. When speaking to young Christians, I point to Christ first.

Yes the great men of God are really servants of the devil, in fact anyone who is critical of you is a servant of the devil!

Yes that is an extreme view but it is only a slight exaggeration of your view to check the views in books.

God teaches us through others, listen or read what they have said and yes evaluate what they say against what the Bible says.

You don't have to reinvent the wheel, or theology.

Wow, that’s how you view my reply? Yikes... that’s not the Spirit of God. Again, I never condemned books done by Christians. You seem to be saying so and honestly that is very accusatory.

If you were offended from my questions, I really didn’t mean harm. I was doing only what God would have me do- testing the spirit.

Yes God does use His people or whoever He wants to do His Will. That I can agree on and have.
