Three words: Persona non grata.
Pffft.... normally I agree with you TLK but I gotta tell you that Trump will NOT allow that to happen. Remember, his massive ego has him believing that ALL republicans love him and he's the best president ever. Of COURSE the people will want to hear his opinions and have in deep in the involvment of everything.

So how would they handle that pushback.

His ego will not allow it, but without the power of the federal government, he'll run out of shiny trinkets to dole out.

When he has nothing left but opinions to offer, then, in the wise words of the Joker, "we'll see exactly how loyal a hungry dog is."

So how would they handle that pushback.

The GOP will ignore him, and the Dems will mock him -- and Donald can't stand either.

As we have seen, 30% Americans are ok with their chosen candidate to go on live television and ask foreign government to interfere in American democracy. You think these 30% will have any objection for their chosen president to shut down a business even though constitution doesn’t give the president the power to do so? I hardly doubt.

As long as a great number of Americans are ok with their supported politician to push the limit of their power or not follow the constitution norm, the politician will test that boundary.

I am not only talking about President Trump only; future President will try to push the limit of their power as long as we the voter let them.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that....

....happen again. Just like we can’t let large scale Mail-In Ballots take root in our Country. It would be a free for all on cheating, forgery and the theft of Ballots. Whoever cheated the most would win. Likewise, Social Media. Clean up your act, NOW!!!!

Setting aside for a moment his complete lack of any power whatsoever to close down social media, any Trump supporters like to comment on the idea of trying to silence people's voices for not following the government's chosen ideology?

As for his endless boring rants about mail-in voting, guess what was included in a Trump campaign flyer recently?

But at the same time if wiretapping access is required to be available from landline telephone services, why shouldn't it be also made available in the same capacity to internet use content.

Doesn't tapping a landline or mobile require a court order? Because what they're asking for re social media and email appears to just be free access to the private data of any American citizen who uses any of those services.

If the only political perspective people are allowed to see is that of one side in the political spectrum, then your denying a fundamental right that would be otherwise available to people, that of more than one perspective or idea necessary for informed choice.

That would certainly be a fair argument if people were only allowed to use Facebook and Twitter. At the moment though there's nothing stopping people using other services, or getting information from elsewhere on the internet.

It's also worth mentioning that Twitter and Facebook aren't preventing conservative thought and discussion, they're simply tagging content that is deceptive. You can talk all day on there about small government, the need for border controls, and the sanctity of marriage or whatever, but they increasingly won't allow people to spread downright lies and conspiracy theories. Their previous reluctance to censor this kind of content is exactly why they received such huge criticism in the past, and why governments around the world have been threatening to legislate unless they acted on it. It's not an attack on conservative thought unless you think conservative thought is inherently dishonest (which neither I nor they do). They will apply the same restrictions to conspiracy theories or lies from the left.

Our president is just setting up the framework for a possible "loss" this November. By claiming mail-in ballots are rife with fraud, he will be able to make claims in November if he loses the election. By claiming he has always known that mail-in voting is fraudulent, he sets up the scenario that sees him legitimately contesting the election.
Same as last time, but he messed up and won.

Another fact checker appears...

Federal Election Commission (FEC) Commissioner Ellen Weintraub on Wednesday strongly hit back at claims from President Trump that mail-in voting leads to high levels of fraud, asserting that there is "no basis" for such allegations and that the falsehoods "may well undermine the American people's faith in our democracy."

In a more than 60-tweet thread on the subject, Weintraub cited a range of reports and news stories to argue that there is no evidence that voting by mail leads to widespread voter fraud. She described the president's claims as "dead wrong," "crying 'wolf,' " "false" and a "debunked lie."

If it were to be a "free market" response, he could just boycott -- and urge his followers--- to boycott Twitter. And, or start an alternative social platform. But, Trump isn't anywhere into free market, now, is he?
The crazy thing is, if he did start his own, personal Twitter, it would actually probably be really successful. All his followers would download it. Not as big as Twitter, but it would certainly have a big user base.

When Trump uses the power of his office, just at the moment that he got fact check, isn't that abuse of his power? Isn't that what he got impeached for?

Impeachment only has teeth if you actually threaten to remove him to stop his behavior. They decided not to. The republicans in the senate have given Trump a pass to abuse the power of the president.
