Harold Camping failed twice his first prediction was '94.

Oh. I didn't know that.
I'm surprised people were willing to believe him, having been proved wrong once before.

Well you are certainly certain about things that are still uncertain.:waaah:lol...have a blessed day....I hear the Holy Spirit speaking to me to go intercede at this time.

Nothing is uncertain...

and neither is this virus or anything to do surrounding it, and you don't need to be a prophet to know what's going to occur, all one needs is a modicum of common sense.

should we ask modern prophets when the virus thing will end?

OK I have been out of action for 3 months here! I went to California to take of some business, then the virus shutdowns happened. And just got back. I've been reading the board, but not posting because I did not want to screw up the fact my main computer was logged into the board, because all that password log in stuff can be such a pain.

I was really looking at doing my own thread on this 2 months ago! On a few things specifically.

1) Hank Kunnemann predicting that "God was going to spare the US..." early in the Year.

2) Ken Copeland "taking authority" over the virus.

3) The scripture that "God does nothing lest he reveal it to his prophets" and well folks were predicting all kinds of stuff and not this, and the few things that are interpreted as predicting it are vague.

4) Other scriptures that speak to the requirement of prophetic accuracy etc. Saint Paul in an epistle mentions that we have a covenant that is superior to the Old in every way. Why can't modern prophets match the accuracy of Old Testament ones? And for folks that want to use Jonah as an excuse, I got a ready rebuttal waiting on that one......

Anyway Controversial theology is probably a good place for this type of thread. I may make a thread over my post here... but am mulling it over. And where to post it (in the past have posted these kind of questions more in the Spirit Filled board).

Warning to repent is not a punishment though.
Friend, my point is simple if God was sending any of those as a judgement he sends a prophet to warn people. Since, God has not to our knowledge sent prophets to every nation affected, I do not think it is God's judgement, etc.,

thanks for the correction

Yes. We should also ask them why they never prophesied this virus, and we should also ask modern healers to lay their hands on those who have contracted he virus and heal them.

Your post reminds me of an encounter with someone in the The Way International Cult while I was at Travis AFB in CA. He claimed that he at will can breathe in the Holy Spirit and have any spiritual gift he wants to use. I said, ok breath him in. After, his acting career of doing so. I said, lets go up to the Hospital up the hill and you can heal everyone in the place. We started up the hill and we were talking. It became quiet. I turned around half way up the hill and saw him running away. If any of those who have healing ministries would go to the nearby hospitals...... the healings can be verified by the Doctors.

It is part of the prophets.

I agree.

" In the Hebrew canon Daniel is not included among the prophets
4. In the Hebrew canon Daniel is included among the writings with the “historical” books. This emphasis may well have been appropriate for the following reasons:

a. Daniel is not in the role of a prophet who is speaking to the nation to repent of their ethical misdeeds

b. Although Daniel certainly wrote down prophetic visions, they are a message to the nation to enable them to walk through their history with the confidence that God is working among them even though they are being dominated by the Gentiles. If historical literature is emphasizing a revelation (record) of the sovereign work of God in history, then Daniel certainly applies because the prophetic visions are also a record (in advance) of the sovereign work of God in history as the Gentiles overrun Israel (who is in sin), but as Israel is also going to be ultimately delivered. As in other historical literature, this book would enable Israel to walk more faithfully with God when they saw His inclusive plan for them.

c. Perhaps the Masoretes did not consider Daniel to be a prophet since he was not appointed or ordained as a prophet in the text in the usual way; rather he was a servant of the government

d. Much of Daniel’s writing does not bear the character of prophecy, but rather of history

B. Greek & English:

1. The Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures (The Septuagint or LXX c. 280-150 B.C.) divided the Old Testament according to subject matter which is the basis of the modern four-fold classification of the: five books of Law, twelve books of History, five books of Poetry, and seventeen books of Prophecy6

2. Daniel was a part of the major prophets

3. Our English editions follow this division

4. This is also a logical placement of Daniel becuase of the many prophetic visions in the book

III. DATE OF THE BOOK7

not so....if the Holy Spirit is in us He is still manifesting His powers through gifts and prophesy.
The Bible does not say the Holy Spirit ceases to speak through His vessels....

Thus, it is reasonable to expect him to warn people through his prophets to repent or God will send the virus.....etc.,

Do you realize when you mock and make sarcastic remarks that you're not affecting me....but you are grieving Him.

Just a quick interjection. Has anyone in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormon) asked their Prophet, Seer and Revelator (aka President) anything about the future of the coronavirus and/or has he provided any prophecy concerning it? This is his job, after all.

The office of Prophet still exists today.
Ephesians 4:11
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Call me cynical, but when someone cocomes at me with a "thus saith the Lord...", I put my hand on my wallet and back slowly out of the room.

Do you believe the Bible. That is a yes or no question.
That's right up there with "have you stopped beating your wife?", isn't it? You could have as easily asked our Lord if whether or not He believed the Bible because He didn't join in stoning the adulteress or because He "worked" on the Sabbath?

Me, I believe that the New Covenant supercedes the old. That's in the Bible too.

Know any modern prophets?/

Sure, for one, we have Russell M. Nelson, the seventeenth Prophet, Seer, and Revelator of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Unfortunately, like his fifteen predecessors he has not made any predictions of the future for his folks, so he seems to be rather lax about his duties.

That's exactly what the book of Hebrews is about for those who care to read it.

The worst is they become extremely wealthy because so many people pay a lot to watch the show.

The sad thing is that history is filled with charlatans who became quite wealthy at the expense of the gullible. Everywhere around the world and at every time in history you will find them.
