Satan or more realistically the satanic realm can indeed replicate some signs and wonder events in peoples live, no question. But the big thing is he is a liar and deceiver and can not keep up the appearance and never at any time had the full power of the Holy Spirit. He often starts out as light but will always ultimately reveal darkness, what started out as looking good turns bad in due time.

He is not God nor any god really, though called the god of this world. He is not all present, all knowing nor formed anything since before the foundation of the world. The Holy Spirit is vastly more powerful in every way.

When someone is truly born again of the spirit the fruits of the spirit become part of that persons will. We become interested in truth ( spiritual truth, scriptural truth etc). In time we are formed to be more like Christ and it's part of our desire in the new birth to do so ( sanctification is on going). Satan can not replicate this, nor can he replicate the peace of Jesus Christ in our hearts. So signs and wonders then become something to watch out for, to test what spirit it is of ( spirit of light or of darkness), we may see something happen that looks miraculous but it doesn't automatically mean it's from God and may not be from God. Being born again brings about new life, changes and desires, that may happen right away and continue to increase but then again it all takes a lifetime..

Another thing that comes with the true Spirit of God is discernment. Again it may not hit you over the head but over time it increases. Satan will always lead you down an unlit path eventually. But the Spirit and the Word is a light at your feet unto the pathway of righteousness....

You helped me the most do you mind if I pm you?

I apologize if this is the wrong section, I've already asked a Chaplain this question but, I wanted to get a quicker response from somebody else more learned than me. Can Satan replicate the power of the Holy Spirit or have any part of God's power? To put it in deeper meaning, can he perform a "born again" ceremony to fool somebody into thinking that they're actually born again? Can he bring forth some of the fruit of the Holy Spirit into a converts life and make them think that they're born again when they're really not? Is Satan more powerful than Jesus Christ?

This is not a troll question, It's serious. This has been bothering me for quite a while for a really long time now. I want to get a biblical answer.

I would say no .... however we certainly can deceive ourselves and/or be deceived (believe a lie)

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions.

Revelation 12:9
Berean Study Bible
And the great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

We know satan is NOT more powerful than Jesus Christ ... satan is the great deceiver.

False Prophets do miracles so God can test us
“Prophets or those who tell the future with dreams might come to you and say they will show you a miracle or a sign. The miracle or sign might even happen, and then they might say, “Let’s serve other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let’s worship them.” But you must not listen to those prophets or dreamers. The LORD your God is testing you, to find out if you love him with your whole being. Serve only the LORD your God. Respect him, keep his commands, and obey him. Serve him and be loyal to him.” Deuteronomy 13:1–4 (NCV)

Satan is not more powerful than Jesus Christ. Please read your Bible. Satan likes to create countefit stuff because he wants to exalt himself above God. He disquises himself as an angel of light. Satan will try to imitate Jesus Christ and God an put a twist on the truth and makes it sound like it's scriptural when it's not. When God was delivering me from bondage of adultery. God was showing me that it was wrong to be with the girl I was with because she was already married and we were living together, so I wanted to end the relationship. So Satan tried to use my church pastor to persuade me that adultery was ok cause it would be forgiven anyway when we both got baptized after we got married because Jesus is forgiving and exercised grace. But that is false and a mock to God. Always judge everything with reference to the Bible. The Bible says to judge every spirit. Even your church pastors. Man kinds biggest fall was listening to the devil in Genesis 3. One of the worst delusions in the history of man kind is man made doctrines/traditions. Most people will do things because a pastor said it was ok, or because it's been passed on through there family. But we need to ask ourselves "is that what the Bible teaches?" One thing Satan will never do is lead you to the real Jesus Christ.

Satan has no power except the power given to him by God.

Satan cannot bear good fruit.

Satan has no part in the Holy Spirit.

Satan does indeed deceive people that they are saved... Probably about 95% of the people on this site are deceived into thinking they're saved (I won't name names lest I violate forum rules).

Satan is not more powerful than God. Satan has no power at all. Zero power. Only God has power. God has 100% of all the power in existence. Everything else has 0%. Any power anyone else has is not really theirs.

Concerning everything and everything that is.. Satan may deceive with spirits that seem right at times. Also, things may be uncertain and quickly drawn conclusion as Satan decides fates ungodly to us all. This all seems as if he does indeed do God's work. Through proper teaching and advice in general, God does it all and no one will stop Him. Forever and ever.

God is infinitely more powerful than Satan. Satan, as we see in the book of Job, is literally bound by God; to the extent he is permitted to tempt us, it is so that our faith becomes like gold purified in the fire.

If I were you, if you are scared about this, I would visit a Christian monastery.

A Christian who has been baptized and confirmed and partakes of the Eucharist and repents of sin has been born again, has received the seal of the Holy Spirit, and is going to be in a strong position of spiritual health.

The darkness can't really create something. Compared to mankind, the darkness has quite a lot of power. But that "power" is nothing compared to God, who can create something (e.g., life).

Now, there are some things the darkness can do. I have heard various demonologists and exorcists state that the darkness can afflict people with something appearing to be a medical malady. And then the darkness can lift that malady. But the patient isn't being "healed" under those circumstances. Rather, an unnatural condition that had been placed upon them was simply lifted. That's not the same thing as healing.

God has actual power and He also possesses a perfect will. The darkness can perform some tricks and obviously their will is evil. But Our Lord bows to nobody when it comes to power and authority. Because all power and authority has been given to Him. And Sacred Scripture says that even the darkness will have to bend the knee someday and confess that He is Lord.

This is entirely correct.

Consider what Jesus said.

Joh_8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Satan's power is lying. It is a codependent power. In other words, his lies require someone to believe them. This is why the Truth sets us free. When we believe the truth of the Gospel, his lies have no affect on us.

How did he murder from the beginning? By convincing Adam and Eve to believe his lie. When they acted upon the lie, they died spiritually, then physically 930 years later. Adam and Eve were murdered.

The Bible tells us very clearly that there are only two supernatural powers in the world – one is a little supernatural power and the other is a mighty supernatural power, there is Satan’s power and there is God’s power. The power of darkness can perform wonders as well. The question is, can a true believer distinguish between them by measuring up to scripture? If I started levitating and said it's the Holy Spirit. What would you say? Amen? We ought to show the same scepticism toward any believer who makes a claim about the Holy Spirit that cannot be properly justified from Scripture. We must have more than “I just know!” as a basis for our claims that the Spirit is at work. We must be able to genuinely prove it. It is said that whatever God can create, Satan can counterfeit. Satan is the Great Counterfeiter.

I think only if person doesn’t know what Bible teaches about the matter. In Bible, if person is born anew from God, he is righteous.

He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.
1 John 3:7-10

I think Satan doesn’t make anyone righteous.

The devil can trick you into believing that you are born again. That is why we have so many false or fake prophets that preach about prosperity(love, money, success etc) instead of salvation/repentance(Obey/fear God, following his commandments etc). They manipulate us into worshipping to masters( God and Money) because they work for the devil.
He can also come into your dreams pretending to be the angel of God.
It is very important to read the bible and know the truth so that we are not deceived.
A good tree will produce good fruit and a bad tree will produce bad fruit.
example
The holy spirit will say in order to prosper, you have to be charitable, be kind to others and be more loving amd forgiving.
The satan's spirit will tell you in order to prosper, you will have to make some sort of sacrifice( like to kill a goat and drink its blood)
Satan is the ruler of this world but the world belongs to Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the Lord of all lords
2 Corinthians 4:4 says "Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

Remember this, there is no comparison in True Power between the enemy and God The Father. Why would God The Father ever show His total Power?

Definitely Satan can mimic what many would call a born again experience if the experience is not founded on the Gospel and the Faith of the Gospel! Satan is not more powerful than Lord Jesus, but people - through ignorance or being misled - can become seduced by the power of Satan.

Consider the Mormons, who feel a burning in the Bosom by the "Spirit" proving to their hearts that the Book of Mormon is true - without which no one can be a Mormon - thus not saved. This is a false test of the Spirit that has no authority in Holy Scripture.

We see many Christian cults in the past who mimic the power of the Spirit in all kinds of weird displays, but having no grounding in the Gospel.

Yeah it is unfortunately. Possibly an exaggeration. But there are a lot of people on this site who believe false doctrine and defend things that are indefensible.
