Warmer weather is here once more!

I’m enjoying a glass of cava with a little framboise. I like to enhance it with Mathilde liqueurs for added flavor.

Let me join! :)

A banana, strawberry, spinach, peanut butter and coffee smoothie.
Hmmm, can you taste the spinach in it?

I'm all for healthy smoothies and protein shakes (I drink a protein shake every morning for breakfast). But, I'm a bit scared of trying spinach in it.

Yorkshire pudding with sausages and gravy, swede, and sprouts
Yes.
Please.
That food needs to get in my mouth.

Not much. The spinach gives it color, the peanut butter gives it a smooth texture, and the coffee keeps things interesting, but banana is the main flavor. Made with milk, it tastes a bit like a banana milkshake.

They have an old world look. If you've watched Paula Deen on television that's the brand she used in her kitchen. Some Williams-Sonoma stores carried them too.

Will that be a problem down the road? Will you need to choose a different line?

I value quality and workmanship. My lifestyle is similarly paced with an emphasis on savoring the moments. I don't do the rat race or save things for special occasions. I believe in abundant living and enjoying my days.

I'd rather have a great steak once per month than a mediocre one several times over. Or a well-fitting outfit made with quality fabric than a closet full of junk. I consider them investments and I'm deserving. Depriving myself for the sake of consumption is worthless. That's a different mindset from our culture. But I'm not a minimalist. :)

I do like their look,, that was one of the dislikes i had with viking. Fred Carl (the creator of viking) had that modern like look, interest. That has never really appealed to me. Looks like they (LaCornue) also had some connection to Middleby read that some where last night.

No i will just wait out azure, they are in California so it may be a while.

Valuing quality and workmanship you will never go wrong their. We share that, mine is more directed toward quality food and tools for me.
Cloths i am to rough on painting and doing wood work takes a toll on cloths plus other things yard work etc.. this Garrett Wade has great tools.

There’s room for both. No aesthetic appeals to everyone. La Cornue makes statement pieces and designing around that doesn’t come cheap. It would be right at home in a Clive Christian showroom. But in most settings it might appear garish without the cabinetry and design elements to accommodate its panache.

I’m decidedly biased towards handmade items and custom work. I appreciate the artistry and talent. That can’t be replicated in mass produced products. When I find a treasure (like sterling silver cookware with impeccable heat conductivity) I know I’m seeing something special. The difference often comes with qualities I won’t find elsewhere.

That’s a work of art.

Garrett Wade has lovely tools. I see several I like. The espresso maker is darling!

You’d want to wear the appropriate clothes for the task. Wool is hardy. An acquaintance does farm work in wool pants and skirts lined in silk. With silk stockings when its cold. She says they’re perfect. Lightweight and breathable.

I’m not running behind goats like she is. But there is a quiet dignity that accompanies getting dressed and looking ones best. Especially when you’re home. It can be easy to fall into bad routines or live in your jammies.

Dr. Laura used to hammer this home and it stuck. It wasn’t about cooking and cleaning but the package that made the greatest difference. The layers of comfort from a woman’s hand.

As for food, I should make some bread. I’ve got starter for sourdough and the warmer weather would be good to get it going.

You mentioned the pork and I’m recollecting a neat cookbook I borrowed from the library. Joe Beef was otherworldly. It’s an ideal companion for nose to tail eating. I’ll probably use the lard for candle or soapmaking. The meat is uncured which calls for a delectable pork belly dish or two. And pulled pork of course.

I had a deli chicken sandwich with mayo, and some pepperjack cheese on the side. :D

Prob going to have a frozen dinner...for dinner. :p
Oh, that sounds delicious.

Oh, that actually sounds pretty good. You might have inspired me to do it. Wednesday's are my cleanse/fasting days....though :( So, no food for me tomorrow.

But, do you put ice in it and then blend it?

I had Wendy's. I'm not proud of it. But I didn't bring enough food to work, so I had to get some delivered.
Hey, you're good.

Sometimes, these things happen :)

Made a SUPER easy ramen noodle recipe.

You grab TWO ramen noodles of any flavor because you won't be using the seasoning.

Cook that according to the package and then drain it and set it aside.

Then, heat up 2 teaspoons of sesame oil over medium heat in a skillet.

Once that's heated, you toss in two cloves of minced garlic into sesame oil and stir constantly over medium heat for two minutes.

Then you will whisk in 1/4 cup of soy sauce (I used low sodium), 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons of Sriracha (if you don't like spiciness, I highly recommend you don't do 2 teaspoons).

Lastly, add the drained noodles into the skillet and stir it until the noodles are coated.

Season with green onions ;)

IT. IS. SO. GOOD.

Serving size is a cup and it serves four people :)

No worries. I’m having The Halal Guys myself. You needed to eat. It happens. :)

Ice isn't necessary when you use frozen banana slices. Also, carrots can be a good substitute for ice. They give it a nice texture.

Smart. Very smart indeed.

I might give it a whirl on Thursday if I can find bananas at the stores!

I will take smoothie recipes as I just got a new food processor :yum:

That's crazy talk :frowning:
You know what would be crazy talk?

If you mention food to me tomorrow when I can't eat.

Then, we'll be in serious trouble.

Have you seen a hangry shineyourlight? You don't want to.

In all seriousness, I do intermittent fasting just on Wednesdays.

That silver pan is beautiful, and i am sure being silver is healthy. I know storing water in silver containers is really good for you.

I love Wendys! Their chicken nuggets are the best.

This is not the thread to go to when I'm hungry and can't decide on what to have :p
