I give up!

Last August, God revealed to me that there was a godly woman out there, that he created me for, and for whom, I was created for. The perfect partner. He revealed this, because my heart yearned to see Christ, in this person's heart, as a sign, they are the one. Someone, who I can give the love, God continues to pour onto me. Not to receive love from this woman, but to give and serve them with God's love, the love only I get to experience from God. And in a sense, vice versa.

So I came to the conclusion, if that is the case, I need to start loving them now, and the best thing I could start doing for them, is to lift them up in prayer. Despite where I have grown in my relationship with Christ, I still need to grow, and that must be true for that woman out there. So I do my best to pray for them each night, pray for the struggles they endure each day. Pray for the blessings God has given them, to delight in His love, and to share with their family and loves ones. To help continually grow in their faith and relationship. To bless them with wisdom and insight. To mold them, so we may one day, have a union, not for ourselves, but for servitude in God's kingdom. That our relationship, maybe a light to those lost in the world's way. And the more I grow and continue to grow in Christ, the more I can pray for, in love, for this woman.

God already knows my thoughts on this matter. I'd rather not bother him by sounding like a broken record. Given the current situation with the pandemic, however, I pray that they're healthy and in good spirits.

Be careful with prayers like that. Sometimes, they work!

You can never bother God with your prayers. God is never too busy to hear you out.

(Luke chapter 18) Jesus tells of the parable of the woman with a just cause and the unjust judge who at first refused to vindicate are just cause, but eventually gave in because of her persistence wearing him out. How much more are we not going to be vindicated by a just God when our cause is right or aligned with the will of God?

There is a saying “Persistence is like wrestling a Gorilla, you don’t give up when you’re tired, you only give up when that Gorilla is tired.” There is no place this persistence is most rewarding than on the knees of prayer, no battlefield victory is more certain than on the throne of Grace, no campaign where we are assured of strength, power, and ultimate triumph than in the prayer closet.

Fall Upon Your Knees…

I was listening to a pastor answer a question about the best thing one could do for their spouse - the answer was basically to get closer to God. So I'd probably just pray for God to continue working in me (and thank Him for that) so that I can try to be the man I'm meant to be for her (if I am to get married). But I do also pray that God blesses her and protects her from what's going on in the world...

Lord, you know better than I do. I pray you are preparing me to be the suitable helpmate I need to be. I trust you and your will. Help me to let go and to let you fashion me according to your will in Christ Jesus. Amen!
