I hate this situation, yet have to live through it

I read today that they expect the cases for convid19 to continue to rise, going from 1500 new cases a day, to 3000. Each of us has to deal with this the best way we can. A highschool classmate reminded me of what generations in the past had to go through, which were in 'fact' much worse than what we are all going through at this time. However, I am sure many will not agree with that because of the effect it is having on their everyday lives.

It does not downplay what is happening now, nor the suffering that people the world over are going through. I do think that we are receiving way too much information, some of it contradictory. I do not know what to believe, so I am starting to limit what I read and to go to the news that I feel that I can trust.

Faith can be a deep comfort, and perhaps give meaning to all that we are experiencing. Yet we still have to deal with the stress build-up that can have a detrimental effect on us.

I do know that in order to be able to choose a healthy response we have to find a way to stop, breathe, and think more on a long term basis, than short term. This can help to deal with the short term in a more logical, rational manner.

Prayer can help with that, because in order to pray we really have to focus, center ourselves, and in that our emotions can be brought more in check.
I hate this situation, yet it must be embraced as well. It has to be lived through, we all know that, but to keep on track day after day for a length of time we do not know, can be fatiguing

I know that this is just me, not saying anything important or new, we all know what we need to do.--Br.MD

My wife and I experienced COVID. We are in our 60's ... and both are Type 2 diabetics. Our 37 year old son became deathly ill the last week of March ... and it fell upon us to care for him.

We became ill about a week later.

We had fever, and headaches, and body aches. It took away my taste ... and swelled my jaw. But each morning we awoke ... not experiencing any problems with our breathing or with tightness in our chests. God kept us.

We have been over it now for about (2) weeks. Our son's case developed into pneumonia, ... and he's got a couple more weeks of recuperation.

Be encouraged ... that God can guard your health through this time
Be encouraged ... that God will guide us through this situation
Be encouraged ... that good man and women are striving mightily to bring us to the other side of this.

We will get there.

Be blessed. We'll be praying ...

Thank you, so happy that all of you got through it.

I had it too, I believe, the last week of February and first week of March. Terrible pain in one lung (and aching for two weeks) and after leaning on my chest without thinking, I could hardly breathe it aggravated it so badly. I really didn't know if I would make it through that night and had to try to sleep sitting up. A hot shower allowed me to finally take a deep breath again after around 10 hours of struggling. No one believes me, but I'm confident that's what it was. At work we have many salesmen and customers from New York stop in and I had never had anything remotely like it before. Ibuprofen was my best friend. ^_^

Human success will cause us other problems down the road. Transference of disease is part of the tragedy of us becoming increasingly connected. in 10 years we may start suffering from a water shortage crisis. the human population will keep increasing until about 20 billion apparently. We are already overfishing our oceans. Christians don't have anything to fear because death is gain. I would count it a blessing if covid-19 took me out, I just don't want to spread it to the other vulnerable family members.

We live for a short time, so each day is so very important. Yes, problems will continue to develop and I guess we are the cause for most of them. Pray, love, and seek to help those around us......and yes family.

I think we need to put our trust/belief in Jesus Christ. It might be a little harder to do at this time, but that just means we have an opportunity to learn to trust Him more.

For me, putting my trust or belief in Him means I am seeking what He has to say about this situation, and indeed every situation in my life. That means a personal relationship with Him, for better or for worse, as the saying between a bridegroom and His bride goes.

So what has He said to me - well mostly it is go there and do this, then do this and go there. He like to guide my steps. One day a bit ago He told me to have my wife make me a mask. At the time some 'experts' were saying that home made masks were really of no use. That of course changed. But He didn't ask me to make a mask for mine or others protection, but that by wearing a mask I would make others feel more comfortable. He reminded me that the Holy Spirit is known as the comforter, so I need to make people fell comfortable where possible. The interesting thing, and I love that He gave me a wife that hears from Him, is that my wife got up in the morning saying that the Lord had told her she needed to do some sewing today. She was told me she wasn't sure what she was supposed to sew, so I explained that He had asked me to ask her to make a mask for me.

The point is that hearing from Him does always mean that I won't go through tough times, but I do become aware that He is there to comfort me in all times. :)

Drawing closer to God in any time is important. Jesus told us we would have tribulations in this world, but in Him we are given peace. He overcame this world.

Sometimes times may seem confusing to us, but holding on to Jesus Christ we know that He will bring us through. We may not always see it clearly before us, but when we trust in Him we just know it will go well for us.

When I say going well for us; It doesn't mean we will become immune to illnesses nor harm. It will go well with our soul, when we are saved in Jesus Christ. And nothing in this world can keep us away from the love of God which we have in His Son Jesus Christ!

Romans 8:37-39

"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

John 16:33

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
