The first post I saw on his page opens with "This is a message from Jesus". That's a pretty good enough reason to ignore him.

If we want to know what Jesus' message is, we have it already, it's in the Scriptures, it's what the Church has confessed, taught, believed, and preached for two thousand years.

If someone comes to you saying, "I have a message from Jesus", ignore it. False prophets, false teachers, wolves coming in sheep's clothing have been an unfortunate reality for the entire history of the Church, but we have the strong and enduring word of God on our side. Do not believe those who come bearing a form of religion but denying the power thereof (2 Timothy 3:5).

The word of God is enduring and trustworthy. Believe the Good News.

-CryptoLutheran
I don't mind someone saying those words BUT.....if they get in any way snipping and act in a condescending way when when told I'm going to seek to see if their argument passes the test of scripture then I usually chuck away what they're saying like throwing away a frisbee .Scripture says were to test what people say and hold fast to that which is good. 1 Thess 5:21 If they seek to steamroll one with whatever claim they don't know what spirit they're of.

I was in this bible study when I was about 15 and the two grand parents that prayed 4h a day would say "if we say anything that is not in this bible. Do not listen to us". There are preachers, people I don't listen to. People that are of God. Just things I don't agree with.

Then there are some that have said things, posted things in the replies that is no where in the word of God. And when something like this happens.. I go to them. I don't speak any negative thing about them. What got me was the things I heard read were never spoken up front. Things that.. after you were drawn in.

There are :) TWO that know each other. Where righteousness, saved, forgiven.. things like this were.. well ONE would said no matter what the bible says "you can not will not know if your saved until you die". Said "you always have to cry out beg God" on and on. There is so much more.

So on the out side.. I like it.. I agree...but.. that is not all. See I don't just watch some video and run with it. I watch and watch no looking for errors. But.. there (for some) I get this check in me. So I Know there is something somewhere that is not of God. We all can say this about our self. But these are things the one talking KNOWS they believe something is not written.

Well :) there are SOME that seem to believe the whole bible. Yet.. theres something wrong.. could not put my finger on it. And this :) ONE even thought some verses were used.. did NOT believe parts of the NT are of God. Yeah.. that was never in the videos. That was just one reason I stopped watching .. this one person. Way to many things they would never answer. Talked about almost anything else..but.. somethings no matter what was written.. well for them easy.. God never said it.. some man did.
Sorry, it's a bit hard for me to read what you're saying. What do you mean?

A post from Andrew Tiner on FaceBook:

"We must daily deny ourselves and make sure that we are rejecting the sinful desires of our flesh. If we let any of the desires of our flesh arise, the flesh has a tendency to take us over.
Entertainment is one of those fleshly desires that will slowly take over you if you do not quickly push it down and get it out of your life.
People have a tendency to love to sit down relax watch TV or play video games after work. It is not right for a child of God to play video games, watch TV, or live for mindless entertainment.
As the children of God we must keep ourselves holy and separate from worldly desires and fruitless activities.
Our day from beginning to end should be filled with the glory of God and doing HIS fruitful work.
Keep yourself unstained from the world or you are unfit for the kingdom of God!

Some games are educational e.g Europa Universalis. Some TV helps inform prayer. For instance watching Last Kingdom on Netflix which traces rise of Alfreds England from Alfred through Edward and even Aethelstand.the programme glorifies the contribution of a pagan warrior to this rise in a way that distorts this rise of Christian influence but has the basic dates and many of the story lines in place. So long as a person watches critically think it is educationary

I don't think what he said was that bad, but I also don't believe in not having any fun, at least fun that God would approve of. The thing is, I can't decide if my complete loss of interest in entertainment is from depression or conviction by the Holy Spirit, or both. Some of the things I used to like make me cringe now, or I have developed a severe apathy for.

I believe His stance it too harsh. The book of Ecclesiastes, if read in its entirety gives a guide book for what as believers we should include in our lives. It states:

Ecc 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

Ecc 8:15 Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.

Solomon commended mirth, or enjoyment of ones life. The average Christian should have a life that includes some form of entertainment, or something they enjoy. However, that said, to fully live out God's call requires, time and effort spent in prayer, and mediation on God's word.

If life is purely full of pleasure, and no regard is spent for God, and prayer, then there is a problem.

One thing I know about Andrew Tiner, known as Brother Andy, is that he is guy behind his YouTube ministry "warningthepeople." This guy is seriously flawed in spiritual theology, he denies that the Bible is the Word of God and thinks that everyone and every church who believes in "faith alone" believes in "Easy Believism" and become lazy Christians, and denies that Christians can struggle with sin, which makes Brother Andy, as well as similarly minded Finalcall07, and Robert Lyte, a trio full-blown Pelagians that mostly say the same thing on YouTube.
While all this must be noted, he CAN be right about a few things, like the Fear of God Means Just That. And I believe lies mashed up with truth is worse than an outright lie.
For a better YouTuber that describes better on how a true Christian should view or use, if any at all, entertainment, see Micheal Chriswall's channel.
As a gamer who plays only casually, while Romans 14 does allow a diversity of opinions and uses of things not explictly said or even referenced in the scripture, like entertainment (even Amish children play with dolls, though they are faceless due to their taking of Exodus 20:4 and the 2nd Commandment much further than it said), 1 Corinthians 8 and 1 Corinthians 6:12 give dire warnings of allowing it to master your life or allowing weaker Christians to stumble, and to save time to do really profitable things, though each Christian has a different role to play in this life for the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 12:8-30). If your heart, soul, and mind not just lip illusion prizes God above all others and let His ways apply to anything and everything you do, you should be fine.
I also just read the whole book on Ecclesiastes that has entertainment on mind, amongst many other things in life he mentioned, including work and the cycle of life. I highly recommend it.

Thank you for this. I have watched Mr Chriswall before, his "False God" challenge to be exact.
I talked to Robert Lyte through email yesterday. He's not as bad as the other two.
I will fs read Ecclesiastes. Thank you:relaxed:

Many Christians are destroyed by entertainment whether it is books, movies, TV, sports, hobbies, or just keeping themselves busy with something mundane so they don't have to work things out with Jesus and be productive

Hahaha... I wouldn't want to,be freinds with this guy!

Thank you for your opinion on the matter. What else can be deemed to be on that same path. If one takes a walk in a city park one then sees pretty desirable women or handsome men. This could lead to lust. Therefore does your assertion to not participate in certain activity extend to a walk in the park? Should I shut myself in with nothing and live like a monk to escape the temptations of life? Am I over reacting to your post?

At least Robert Lyte sees the Bible with at least some divine inspiration. I knew this because I saw a video of Brother Andy complaining about this.

Your setting yourself out on a dangerous road of justification by works. You will fail in your attempts to prove yourself worthy of salvation and will be crushed under your own guilt and shame. This will be a long process for you in which you will find yourself confused and having the sense of absolute rejection by the Father. God will box you into a corner at some point where you will finally realize what the grace of God truly is. After that revelation happens, then you will take all your secret sins that you’re struggling with right now and bring them into the light and finally At that point you will understand what true freedom from sin is. You will have the testimony of victory over sin because you will realize Christ has paid the price and not you. It’s going to be a rough road. If you have the spirit of God in you this is your future.

We should watch what edifies and gives meaning to us. we should try to understand why we are attracted to a show which is sometimes because it has some kind of good meaning to it.

Asceticism has tried to completely do away with the world but the Lord saves all that is good because everything that is good comes from the Lord. we are only to reject the evil elements of the world.

Other times it could be good to cut yourself off from things to rather seek after God more. We should be living in the spirit. The spirit is a strange and transcending place. In the spirit you find that which is yours. You start to hear the angels of the things you thought were merely of the world.

Same and it's quite similar to other matters like fashion. On my both arms I often wear several natural stone bracelets which I've collected in the last few years, often at church I tend to hide them inside my shirt or even not wearing them at all. Often crystals are associated with New Age stuff like crystal healing and mysticism, I regard them absolutely false and the bracelets just go well with my style. Some of my hobbies might also confuse others, like watching stand-up comedies, horror, heavy metal (both secular and Christian bands) and satire shows (for games I usually play very mild ones like Pokemon). While I'm okay with them, some of my more conservative friends, as well as my family and even myself think it would be quite problematic both for sharing my hobbies and wearing crystals at church. As for the verses you've mentioned, they're very useful in real life and I tend to not mention the 'edgier' side or wear stuff (like band merch, crystals and even clothes commonly associated with New Agers) since it would give wrong messages or even stumble others.

I thought the op might enjoy reading this to see things from not such a legalistic perspective.

These movies were not made to teach, edify or persuade. Far from it. But as God brought me from Islam to the Catholic Church, they unexpectedly became tools of his providence.
