Bought a SNES classic and downloaded several ROMs to put on it. But I'm having difficulty transferring the games to it. Going to get my friend who's more technologically savvy to do it for me. (Even though I should figure it out myself) But that's what friends are for right?

Yeah. I think I'll probably stick with my PS4 for the first year or so. Excited for what is to come. Especially how SSD will change gaming. Low to no pop ins, larger game worlds. Funny though, for me I don't really see the big deal with ray tracing (besides a few games like Minecraft). Considering it is computationally expensive, I'd much rather they use that extra horse power for other things.
For me personally, I'm looking forward to the better lighting and 3D sound effects that come with ray tracing technology. As a game designer, I find the way sound behaves in games very annoying lol.

If the latest Halo 6 trailer is any indication of what's possible with this next gen tech, I'm excited. The final scene still leaves me in awe - not only the visuals but also the way Master Chief's footstep sounds carry throughout the room:

Sounds interesting. If AC is available on Steam then I may check it out. I have to be in the mood to play simulation games though.
Because it is a nintendo game it is unlikely to be on steam. :) But Stardew is on Steam! :)
I know I have to be in the mood for particular games too. That’s why I have so many games but end up playing just a few of them. :D

So what are all your favorite video games?
Right now my favorite is Animal Crossing.
I tend to play one game a lot then switch to another game and play that a lot, then switch back depending on my mood.
In general I really like logic and puzzle type games, they are relaxing. :)

What are your favorite games?

You being a game designer, I can understand. Since you see how everything develops and can see and nit pit the cheat stuff. What about sound in video games do you find annoying?

So, in all seriousness, I've been actually thinking of getting a switch.

How do you like it?!

I like it. :) It’s fun. I like it better than I expected. I don’t like how expensive games are now days though.

Well almost everything in game design is achieved through various tricks, in order to maintain a high framerate. This is especially true for audio, which simply plays sound from a central source when the player camera is nearby. You can add what's called a "reverb zone" in order to make sound echo when the player is inside it, which can add a bit of realism. But still, sound doesn't behave realistically; it goes through walls and objects, and there can be issues if two audio sources overlap.

Being able to have sound behave in a more realistic way, and interact with the environment similar to the way light does would significantly enhance the immersion in my opinion.

Cities Skyline was fun.. but getting a little tired of it now.. finally made a city with a population of around 160k. I do enjoy how realistic and detailed the game is. You can monitor traffic flow by looking at cars driving by. Like it isn't static.. you see people entering buildings and the correct cars going where they need to go.

Especially Nintendo. Their games never really drop in price. Zelda is still 60 bucks retail and it released in 17. At least with Playstation and Xbox, games usually drop in price 3 to 4 months after launch. I remember waiting so anxiously for games to hit "greatest hits" so I could get my PS2 games for 20 bucks :ahah:

But I do really love my Switch. The Switch lite is not at all worth it imo. The ability to dock it and play it on the big screen is essential for me.

So I've discovered that I'm bad at animal crossing. Pretty much all I do is harvest my fruit and sell it to try and pay back the loans to upgrade my house. And I'm still only at the two extra room stage :asd:
