Billy, you always cherry-pick! As others have correctly pointed out, there are both masculine and feminine representations of God in scriptures. You need to respect the big picture, and not focus on those texts that endorse the view you want to advance.

Nearly every post I read your debating and arguing with someone. Why not just leave them alone if you have nothing in common with them.

This is a really interesting piece, looking at how conspiracy theories and Christian beliefs interact, and inviting some critical reflection. I'd be interested in others' thoughts.

Why Your Christian Friends and Family Members Are So Easily Fooled by Conspiracy Theories

I disagree with this utter dismissal of the group of persons called Christians and calling them narcissists who emotionally dwell in a construct of fantasy because they can't face reality...

Seriously? You want input on this hit piece?

So, basically this article is a left winger dismissing Christians as an entire group and, at best, dismissing them at nutjobs who need psychiatric care...

Those pesky Christians, they need serious help, look at this article I wrote according to my own world view, in order to dismiss any view held by those who may occasionally disagree with my political ideals. Easier this way isn't it? They don't agree with my world view so I must make them into something less than rational humans in my own mind.

Thanks for that. This is a forum where I believe Christians shouldn't be abused at will by every nut who can write an article.

The article, which is written by a Christian, doesn't say that all Christians do this, just that a lot of the author's Christian friends do.

I agree, however, that it gives the impression that it's more widespread than it probably is.

You can call yourself Christian all day long but when you write a hit piece dismissing them in this manner as an entire group I must question the veracity of the claim.

Where is the love of the Bride of Christ here?

The mark of the Christian is the love of the brethren.

It is strange that all your posts are daily on my threads. Quite creepy really.
I just read someone say the exact same thing as you in YouTube comments referencing another user trolling all his comments on videos. There's a conspiracy theory here somewhere... ^_^

And yes, I am DEEPLY offended by this thread (on behalf of my brethren everywhere). And think it utterly and completely should be deleted upon this basis.

How dare anyone propagate such garbage!

CF is full of posting dismissing mainline and liberal Christians. In the current situation conspiracy theory about COVID can be literally life-threatening.

Well, I don't know if the point was to propagate anything but to get an opinion...

This is why I reported the thread. I admit I've snapped and acted unchristian but the way people troll and attack you for expressing an opinion that disagrees with official narratives is anything but Christian. Im thankful for your comment.

The sad part is the same people are acting like this on this thread while preteding to be christ like in others.

I'm not sure how a conspiracy theory is life-threatening, but we already have a disease which is life-threatening to certain people and I think it's definitely our business to discuss how this came to be.

I don't see the article as an attack on Christians at all. I see it as a set of observations and reflections about the particular behaviours and attitudes of a subset of Christians, and I personally - as a Christian - found it very helpful to reflect on.

I'm not posting it to attack anyone, I posted it to invite others to reflect and share their thoughts also. I believe that we need to be open to critically examining our own tradition. I'm sorry that that caused offence, but please understand that that was not in any way my intent.

Your posting a piece mocking thousands of Christians who hold beliefs that go against official narratives. Read your Scriptures they're full of conspiracies of evil men conspiring to do evil things.

So why attack every single Christian? Calling them narcissists who live in a fantasy of their own construct because they can't face reality?

SERIOUSLY?????????

Sometimes I think PEOPLE as a whole don't fully investigate ANYTHING!

Do you know how many people, common to believers and unbelievers alike "share" some article they never so much as read because the title was catchy and they liked the person who originally posted it on Facebook?

That's common to all people in this age of social media, believers and unbelievers, left and right, just people in general?

SO WHY ATTACK CHRISTIANS???????

Because you disagree with conservative Christians on doctrinal points? Really? Are you not also the Bride of Christ? Why attack your brethren?

That really and truly is not what the article is saying. The author of it is Christian!

And inviting critical reflection is not an attack.

Who attacks and mocks others who don't share his beliefs on how the world works belittling them.

I have reacted unchristian in this thread because that type of behavior towards you is infuriating. Address the belief properly not with belittling mockery pretending that's Christlike.

I didn’t use the word narcissism. I generally don’t believe in theorizing on motivations and psychiatric condition (except maybe for Trump). I do think the basic observations are fair, though, for a substantial group of Christians, particularly when you go beyond Covid and start looking at creation and other theological and social issues.

If you read the article the author most certainly did.

I'm not here to discuss your ideas about COVID versus my own views.

I am sickened to open a thread by a PASTOR of a CHURCH to see they have posted such trash against Christians!

I am beyond shocked!

I think some Christians overreact to things that shouldn't really matter like this COVID-19 being the current boogeyman at the moment. In time they will move on to the next "evil planned" event, whatever that'll be.

I most certainly believe in the end-times and have some wild unconventional views, but the way some others use scripture while throwing in other random stuff and expecting it to stick, seems overly optimistic.
