I heard how Communion is for "the healing of soul and body" yet as I mentioned before, a bishop died of Corona, so isn't there a contradiction?
Holy Communion IS for the healing of soul and body.I heard how Communion is for "the healing of soul and body" yet as I mentioned before, a bishop died of Corona, so isn't there a contradiction?
Strowman, that is the only thing I will say.Would you take Communion in a burning building, inside of an active volcano, on a radioactive nuclear test site, or under the ocean with no suit or air tank?
God expects people to exercise at least a modicum of common sense, I think.
So how does it heal the body if one still has the chance of dying? Maybe the whole debate of “not going to Communion because of Corona” is already over since you might not die because of Eucharist but of something else around anyway.Holy Communion IS for the healing of soul and body.
But by your logic, we would have to live forever without dying if that prevented any possibility of ever having any sickness.
Until the end of this age, we will all die at some point of some cause. Holy Communion does not prevent this.
It is important to remember that no one would get sick BECAUSE of Holy Communion. (Except if you consider the case of those who fail to regard it, for which reason St. Paul explicitly said some got sick and some died - but that is for a very different cause.)
How is it that there are people who are anointed with oil are not healed physically? Remember the verse about the prayer and anointing those who are sick - and that it will heal our inflictions and forgive us of our sins? It’s the same concept. You are right that the way people get COVID-19 or any other illness is not due to communion; it is due to other ways of becoming infected - such as someone coughing, etc.So how does it heal the body if one still has the chance of dying? Maybe the whole debate of “not going to Communion because of Corona” is already over since you might not die because of Eucharist but of something else around anyway.
I feel like we could make this into a Dr. Seuss rhyme.Would you take Communion in a burning building, inside of an active volcano, on a radioactive nuclear test site, or under the ocean with no suit or air tank?
