Only problem is, what should we call our vendor?

Um, literally the best food ever. Besides sushi, of course.

Did you get it somewhere?

With ranch. Because that's the only way you should be eating baby carrots ;)

Will Nev and Max be there?

I will eat anything for breakfast. And I mean, ANYTHING.

And that has always been my secret. I made baked tacos and I shredded 6 pounds of chicken with a hand mixer. I hate, hate, HATE having to shred chicken by forks.

I am sorry do not know who nev and max are but they were not there just me and my mom and of course the cooked cat.

Um, yes. Seafood is delicious. I feel like I always crave seafood during warm weather.

What's your favorite seafood?

Lobster; the full size and langoustines. I love shellfish and grew up eating my share in Creole and New England dishes. The French influence affected my palate and ingrained their philosophy on quality. Great ingredients in their season makes memorable meals.

Our style is farm to table. Locally produced fruits and vegetables free of GMO’s and meat humanely raised with an appropriate diet. I prefer small producers who specialize in specific items like pasta, rice, or flour. You discover hidden gems in the process.

I haven’t adopted the Queen’s practice of a daily glass of champagne. But given her longevity I’ve made a noticeable shift in my preferences. :p

Very cool.

Well I've been to at least two different Vietnamese restaurants, one specializes in soup (Pho) and the other in general dishes. I enjoy some of the noodle-based entrees, but the soup and spring rolls especially I can't get enough of.

I can't even imagine what authentic Chinese is like. There are countless Chinese restaurants here, but I'm sure they don't even compare to the real thing. What other types of cuisines do you enjoy?
I believe the noodles that I've tried from China were potato noodles? Or, bread noodles. I'm not entirely sure. But, it was a street vendor in Xi'an and I was already a bit nervous to try it. But, I did and I fell in love with it.

Pho I have yet to try, but always wanted to.

I like Italian, Mexican, Thai....*drool*

What about you? How do you fell about.....dare I say it....sushi?

I feel like so many people hate it. I absolutely love it.

Haha, sounds like my choice of food :)

Do you usually go to the public market for your food when they're open?

I saw a tabloid cover at the grocer reporting that she's dying. And tabloids are always true.
Seventeen Magazine, am I right or....am I right?

And you are not

Just got home and had bangers and mash.

Too full now!
Why was I not invited? I thought we were just beginning to become friends. :D

It's alright, haha.

It used to be my favorite show. Plus, they were here in my town because a girl was on the show.

It's a show called Catfish.

I started gathering a list of sources for direct purchases two years ago. I have everything delivered but we’re hoping to be grocerless by summer’s end. I went to my meat purveyor for beef and I’m ordering pork tomorrow before the SIP order lifts.

Food sits on shelves too long. Add in the transit and it diminishes even more. If I eat asparagus harvested two days ago. It tastes significantly different from the one resting on ice or a little water in the produce aisle.

I forgo convenience in certain areas for the pleasure effort and patience add to the experience. I can make a quick cup of coffee or have a latte with grass-fed milk (with a layer of cream on top) with homemade vanilla, organic espresso and mocha flavored ice cubes. The second option turns an ordinary practice into an indulgence. That’s worth coming home to.

Mexican food is my weakness, haha. Thai is really good too; I have Thai family members (long story) who make it homemade whenever we have family events.

Sushi is epic. California rolls, seaweed... :swoon:Greek and Middle Eastern cuisine is also really good...can't beat gyro.

What's interesting about this is that I'm actually going to start up a street food business this year - well, I should say eventually because THIS year will be rife with restrictions I should think. But that's the plan.

So perhaps this fantasy is not such an unrealistic reality. It's always better to do business with people that you don't know that well.

"Atlantic Burgers" - coming September 2023?

Are you thinking of a food truck? What type of cuisine are you interested in?

~Bella

I'm literally just staring out with a bicycle driven hotdog cart. I live in one of those, like, alternative and like, progressive cities? Where everyone is like, so green? And everything is, like, a question? So I'm tailoring to my demographic.

Plus, minimising costs means I can knock out the hotdogs very cheaply. No one else seems to be using the bicycle method, they're either using big, fuel guzzling trucks or they're using hybrid vehicles. (Still massive costs involved with those vehicles though.)

It's just something to have a bit of fun with - I'm hoping to pass it on to my youngest cousin eventually. I want to work up to a ramen shack or a bespoke burger joint. THEN I'll pass that on too.

That’s really cool. I know what you’re referencing. The farmers market I used to attend was full of that crowd. The vendors were great and I loved the diverse options. But it was an ‘event’ for many. Whereas in my neighborhood we’re grabbing food and heading home. We’re not looking to socialize.

You have an entrepreneurial spirit and that’s great. Food businesses are neat. I contemplated high end catering in the past. That’s why I went to school and worked in a wine shop. But serving that demographic requires some very thick skin. I’ll dress them. That role is regarded differently than others where skill is more plentiful. They can be abrasive.

Do you think you’ll continue starting restaurants or try something different afterward?
