You guys south of my border deserve a hardship medal. Here, we find the virus to be enough of a stressor - you guys have to deal with you-know-who at the helm of your ship of state. Good luck

A message of hope and love without any bragging.
that message was very well written and is the type of focus a country needs. I'm not even American yet there is a great sense of empowerment after hearing it.

A message of hope and love without any bragging.

Until watching his recent video, I've never really been a big fan of George Bush Jr., but that video actually made me cry. What an awesome, wonderful and truly "Presidential" speech. It's too bad that Trump is so focused on himself that he felt compelled to trash Bush over that video. How sad that we don't have a real "leader" in office during such a major crisis.

Given how much suffering he's caused..it shows the difference between him and trump, hell during the next pandemic will we see trump give this kind of message to during a future presidents term or will he be saying, "In my day we did it better!!!."

I really hate alot of what bush did, but he's definetly giving the right message here.

I would love to hear some Republican and/or right wing responses to Bush's speech.

I'm not sure the "Republican" party even exists anymore. Bush was a pretty right wing Republican during his tenure as President, but the whole party has been taken over by the "TrumpianYourNeighbor" party, where facts no longer matter, national unity no longer matters, and the only thing that matters is getting Trump reelected. :( I think the only Republican left in office is Mitt Romney who was the only Republican to put truth and honor before party. The rest of the Republicans have joined the TrumpianYourNeighbor party.

I was not a huge fan of Bush jr. as a president. But, I think he really is a sincerely nice person who genuinely cares about people. He did a great job with that.
I think he would have been a much better president without Cheney there, and I think he got better when Cheney's influence waned. I do recall that he gave a genuinely presidential speech after 9/11.

...we saw how Cheney and company exploited American's anger after 9/11 -- to ultimately invade a country that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attack.

....today, the White House is pressuring the intel. community to fit their narrative regarding the origins of COVID-19. What is the end came? Political cover for Trump's inaction or something more?

My personal opinion is that they are rightfully embarrassed by trumps response to this video and don't even want to wade into this one.

Don't worry, after a while they will think of some justification. It took them a while to rally to defend the rather idiotic bleach and internal UV claims, but some here managed to do that.

I used to debate on the topic of DDWFTTW (Google it if you dare). It is an extremely counterintuitive idea. Though demonstrated possible. One poster had incredible denial on his side and even when destroyed in a debate he would always come back. It was almost as if the topic would not let his mind rest.

I was no fan of GWB but he handled the immediate aftermath of 9/11 pretty well and I think that once the excrement really hit the fan in the financial crisis, he took the appropriate steps to stem the bleeding and prevent the total collapse of the economy.
