This brings me back.. I remember getting up early in the morning (not a morning person at all) to do aerobics with my villager friends. Don't think I ever completed the 14 day challenge.. but still.. I was groggy but it was such a cool game experience. Still remember that music.

Also every Saturday night you could listen to a dog play guitar for a crowd of people in a bar. If you stayed he'd give you a tape, lol.

I love Animal crossing and remember all that.

Anyone hear about the Last Of Us Part 2 leaks? Apparently the bad guys are conservative Christians and it has a lot of anti-male messages.

Probably not going to buy the game. In fact I heard a lot of top people working on that game quit out of frustration with where the series was going. Doubt most of those people are conservatives Christians as well.

A shame.
I haven't heard anything about that. But I wouldn't be shocked if it's true. Somehow every writing team thinks it's totally original and "timely" to make Christians the villains, especially conservative ones... Though I do sorta remember hearing about something of an exodus at Naughty Dog-- not so much that people were leaving-- but it seems every new title on the horizon is being advertised with quotes like: "from the director of Uncharted" or "produced by one of the minds that brought you Last of Us" and other such cliche taglines you'd expect from a game trailer, and I wondered why so many successful creators were leaving such a successful company in its prime.

All I know is, of the Naughty Dog, Insomniac, and SuckerPunch trio of Playstation devs- I'd go with SuckerPunch or Insomniac. Uncharted might have been great, but I'd take Infamous or Ratchet and Clank any day. Oh and Ghost Tsushima looks amazing!

Just watched more of the leaks.. apparently most of the bad guys are white men who go after minorities and other races.

Yeah.. I'm certainly not buying this game now.

I played the Infamous games. They were alright. Just that Naughty Dog was pushing the boundaries as far as games feeling like movies. I am curious to what they have done here, and the game looks high quality.. but I just can't sit and play hours and hours of a deeply SJW game.

Honestly I've been pretty burnt out on gaming.. don't like the fact I am, but can't really force myself to be really excited about it at the moment.

Comes and goes.. won't play games for several months.. then I will be game crazy several months..

Same. I've got a stack of games I need to play, but I just keep binge-watching stuff instead.

I used to play games a lot more, but I've ended up procrastinating on playing them for some reason. I've recently gotten back into gaming and I'm trying to whittle down my backlog.
Right now I'm playing Ori and the Blind Forest on the Nintendo Switch. It's my second time playing it (I played through it on my computer, but it could just barely run the game) and this time I'm doing it in Hard mode.

I've died a lot. :ahem:

I'm a casual VR gamer and volunteer developer, with an AMD rig and a headset.

Titles currently installed on my system include:

PolyCube
Thumper
Beat Saber
Elite Dangerous
Fallout 4 VR

For a while, I was listed in the top 10 for PolyCube. Tetris-style games have always been a favorite of mine.

The rest of my gaming is more simulation-based. Flight simulators, social VR, playing soccer, exploring the Titanic, flying a Sopwith Camel, re-creations of historical events like Apollo 11, etc.

I also still like to play Second Life from time to time. Mostly for the fun of creating characters. Although I got into it kind of late, back when it was compatible with the Oculus Rift DK1 and DK2, it grew on me. For a while, I worked on bringing that experience into a CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment)... basically old-school VR with out a headset.

My involvement with development is research-based. We create virtual scenarios and conduct experiments. Eventually, when I have the time, I'd like to do more with independent game development.

I have a Switch and I most often use the Fitness Boxing.

I was playing Kirby Star Allies, but the very end looks like it's gonna be way too hard for me. :puff:

This is still my all-time favourite game because it's the only one where I found everything myself without using outside help.

Did anyone see the Xbox Series X gameplay (no matter how little was actually shown)..

Pretty underwhelming.. although from the last console generations.. I always had the same feelings.. only to be blown away be games developed afterwards. Especially since Microsoft seems keen to make their games friendly for their past Xbox console.

Playing animal crossing tonight I just thought I’d go to an island quickly and pick a new villager before bed, but the island I got was the one with bamboo! That was the first time i saw that island so I gathered all the bamboo then tried again and I got the scorpion island. So I ended up with pockets full of bamboo and scorpions and no new villager picked. I guess it will be another random villager. :o

I can’t imagine getting tired of this game anytime soon. ^_^

I love DK country 2! That was my favorite of the three on Super Nintendo. I think I got the furthest in that one too and might have even finished it (rare for me). Definitely a great game. :)

There's debate as to whether that was actual gameplay footage or not. If it was, I thought it was rather impressive. The gameplay itself did seem lackluster, especially the animation sequences shown in Bright Memory Infinite.

I'm sticking to PC gaming for now as it's much cheaper. But I think this will be an exciting generation for consoles: ray tracing for light and sound, 4K definition, minuscule loading times thanks to solid state drives, etc. Games developed mid to late-generation should also be a sight to witness as developers master the hardware, as is usually the case.

I've heard so much about this game, but don't know much about it lol. Seems quite popular though; is it similar to Stardew Valley?

Stardew Valley is a farming game, animal crossing is more about a “town” or village. But you can always choose how you play them both to an extent. Both are within the same game genre though. RPG, simulation. Oh actually, you do craft in both of those games as well.
As far as farming goes you can just plant fruit and flowers and trees in Animal Crossing. You can fight and kill monsters in Stardew Valley but you just catch bugs in Animal Crossing.

You should play both of them!

Sounds interesting. If AC is available on Steam then I may check it out. I have to be in the mood to play simulation games though.

Yeah. I think I'll probably stick with my PS4 for the first year or so. Excited for what is to come. Especially how SSD will change gaming. Low to no pop ins, larger game worlds. Funny though, for me I don't really see the big deal with ray tracing (besides a few games like Minecraft). Considering it is computationally expensive, I'd much rather they use that extra horse power for other things.
