No one is attempting to replace mercy with justice in the cited passage but that does not change the fact that God is both a God of both mercy and justice, but what is of concern is that you seem to deny that God is a God of justice.
Mercy is not the OPPOSITE of justice. Mercy is the opposite of punishment. Mercy is still an option of justice.

There seems to be some confusion between the words justice and verdict. Justice decides the verdict. Mercy is ALWAYS an option.

You poor young laddy: The purpose of any calibre father is to enhance the life of his child, not punishment as an end in itself.

Can you spell transformation?

The Father of all fathers exceeds any calibre father a bunch!

But the child has to want to be enhanced. God is not going to allow into His Kingdom those who do not want to be enhanced.

There are countless billions --- BILLIONS --- that never had that opportunity.

That is not true. More people have been given opportunity than have not.

Justice is also the decider of what the appropriate penalty is according to the crime committed, but justice nevertheless demands a penalty for sin and that penalty Christ paid on our behalf so that we would not have to as long as we place our trust in Him for our salvation and in nothing or anyone else.

How did you arrive at that conclusion?

How many people are living in China right now? What percentage have ever heard the name Jesus Christ?

That is not accurate.
Jesus was quoting Psalm 22, which is a messianic Psalm.
God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

But that required Christ to not only die physically, but to be separated from the Father as He was dying. Do you really think God had pleasure in having to turn His face away from His Son upon whom all of our sins had been placed?

More than you think; in fact a large number of Chinese have expressed interest in the Christian faith.

For whom did Christ pay the penalty?

How did you arrive at that conclusion, that Jesus had "to be separated from the Father as He was dying"? --- You even capitalized "He" to show they are inseparable.

That's great, but you have yet to prove that countless billions have not gone to the afterlife with no knowledge of Christ.

The current population of China is 1,438,207,241 as of Saturday, April 18, 2020.
That's 1 billion, 438 million, 207 thousand, 241.

With a world population of 7 billion and the number of Christians worldwide at 2.5 billion, the vast majority of the world population is not Christian. And that term "Christian" is probably anyone who claims to be Christian, be it religiously or politically. (non-Muslim)

So, 7 billion minus 2.5 billion gives us 4.5 billion. If a generation is 40 years, how many billions would there be back to the first century? (50.5 x 4.5 = 227 billion) Countless billions seems like a pretty safe statement. Who can say?

So, over 200 billion "lost souls" in a forever burning hell with no hope of escape. Most of whom had never heard the name of Jesus.

Is this the plan of the God of love? NOT POSSIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!

Can you prove "that countless billions have gone to the afterlife with no knowledge of Christ?"
It is surprising the things one can see if they read the Bible, through, instead of just concentrating on pre-canned lists of out-of-context proof texts.

Romans 4:15
15 The law brings God's anger. Where there is no law, the law can't be broken.
Romans 5:13
13 Before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not judged when there is no law.

Just go to the Hell Population Clock thread der Alter, where you can read the latest stats on 'the number of sinners who've checked into the fiery sector of Hades'. My but don't he has a way with words though.

POPULATION CLOCK UPDATE: 1,032 days have elapsed since beginning the thread. If the figures in post #1 are within reason, then something like 62,673,360 new arrivals have checked into the fiery sector of hades since June 19, 2017.
Hell's Population Clock

Ah I see you were just there recently. That's 63 million new arrivals in less than 3 years. How's your maths? Dare to extrapolate that back to 33 AD?

That is not proof of anything it is somebody's guesstimate what the population might be. Someone else might say there is nobody in hell at this time, only after the judgement.

I think he's basing it all on a certain reading of Lazarus and the Rich Man. The fiery sector of Hades lol.

The restoration of all things

Matt 19:28:
Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Acts 3:21
Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

Rom 8:20-21:
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

Romans 5:10
For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Romans 11:36
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Isa 65:17
"See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.

Rev 21:5
He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!"

Did anyone already debate whether anyones sins actually are worth an eternity in a fiery pit? I don't think a just God could literally make us go to a Hell like that forever for the sins we have time to do during our short lives. After all, anything we do here is temporary, so should the punishment too.
