Hi,

I often hear people say that a "One-World Government" or "New World Order" will be formed in the End Times (before Jesus can return). Where exactly in the Bible does it say a Single World Goverment will be formed in the End Times? and is it required before Jesus can return?

Thank you for any info!

It doesn't, exactly. Then again, I've never been fully influenced by any one single interpretive framework by which to interpret apocalyptic passages in our shared Scriptures, so I don't think a singular, World Government has to be in place for an anti-Christ set of activities to take place.

One passage alluding to it...

15
And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. 16Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,e to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.f

No, it doesn't. It speaks of powerful rulers allying themselves with surrounding nations to make war, and people being forced to worship them as gods.

Neither of those things were at all out of the ordinary for the time.

Yes. The world will be controlled by a single ruler, with ten lesser rulers of kingdoms for the great tribulation period.

Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

Rev 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

The Bible doesn't. That is the interpretation of some who think Revelation is for now

Yes, the Bible prophet Daniel 7:23 says there will be a fourth kingdom...that will consume the whole earth, subduing it.
It will be established soon after the great and terrible Day of the Lord's vengeance and wrath, that will devastate the world. So, to regain order and control of resources, the survivors will divide the world into 10 regions, each with a President or Governor.
This division is already decided. google - 'ten world regions'.

While the bible doesn't say a one-world government, it does indicate one kingdom will be dominant over the rest of the world.

Daniel 7:23 indicates the fourth kingdom will be dominant over the rest of the world. But it will not a so-called one world government because in Daniel 11:36-44, there are global factions that attack the person called the beast in Revelation 13, near the end of his reign, and his kingdom.

From about the middle of the 7 years, forthcoming following Gog/Magog, that person will become essentially the world dictator (the bible calls the beast); albeit while his kingdom dominant, it will not be a one world government.

Toward the end of the 7 years, is where the Daniel 11:36-44 passages come into fruition as he and his kingdom (EU based, allied with the other western nations) are attacked by the other three global factions of the south (African nations), the north (Russia, and the 'stan nations), the east (China and the eastern nations)

________________________________________________________________

To make sense out of all this, the overall picture is the person becomes leader of the EU. Then the Gog/Magog event takes place in the middle east. Following the destruction of Gog's army, the person moves his EU army into the middle east, taking control of all the oil, on the premise of keeping peace.

The Jews will at that time believe him to be their messiah. Assuming that role, he will be anointed the King of Israel - which is what actually makes the person the Antichrist at that time. He confirms the Mt. Sinai covenant, by making a big speech from the temple mount, triggering the 7years.

Commensurate with the crowning of the new messiah, the world will be saying peace and safety, thinking it has entered the messianic age. A temple rebuild started, and animal sacrifices begun again, in the process.

Then the unthinkable happens about three years into the 7 years, the Antichrist person stops the sacrifices, goes into the Temple and claims to have achieved God-hood.

The Jews dumbfounded by the act, renounce him as their king - which ends his time as the Antichrist....and starts his path on to becoming the beast in Revelation 13. The bible refers to him as the revealed man of sin at that point, in 2Thessalonians2:4.

God, angered by the person's claim, has him killed, Ezekiel 28:1-10, and in disdain for the person brings him back to life, as part of God's plan to judge the wicked and to end Satan's kingdom of Babylon the Great, a spiritual kingdom.

In Revelation 13, the slain and come-back to life head on the beast, which has the mouth like a lion is that person. He becomes possessed at that time by an unclean spirit that comes out of the bottomless pit.

The world, except them who have turned to Jesus, will be in awe that the person apparently has overcome death, and will believe his claim of having achieved God-hood true and will worship him. And the false prophet has a statute image made of him, as well, that all on the earth must worship when it comes to life, in the presence of the beast.

The actual measure that will bring the lifeless image to life and speak will be that it will be incarnated by Satan. At the point when the image is first placed in the temple, the great tribulation is triggered.

All of the trumpet and vial judgments of God take place over the remainder of the 7 years, essentially the second half of it. And near the end, when food and oil, have dwindled down, hoarded and directed to the fourth kingdom (the EU and the West) that is when the other three factions of the world will attack the beast, converging from all the nations toward Jerusalem to remove him from power.

So there is not going to be a "one-world" government as such, but one dominant faction - the west - that is going to dictate to the rest of the world, and call the economic and financial shots which the rest of the world will have no choice but to comply.

Prophecy is perfectly plain, a man will rise to become the leader of a world government. Revelation 17:12-13 The worlds peoples will worship him. Revelation 13:11-14

The only area he will not control will be the holy Land; the area from the Nile to the Euphrates, which will be occupied by the Lord's people, the Christians from every race, nation and language.
This is proved by how he comes to the nation of Beulah, Isaiah 62:1-5, and makes a 7 year peace treaty with us. Daniel 9:27

No. That is an entirely fictional view conjured up by conspiracy promotng futurists..

New World Order (conspiracy theory) - Wikipedia

The New World Order or NWO is claimed to be an emerging clandestine totalitarian world government by various conspiracy theories.[3][4][5][6][7]

The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government—which will replace sovereign nation-states—and an all-encompassing propaganda whose ideology hails the establishment of the New World Order as the culmination of history's progress. Many influential historical and contemporary figures have therefore been alleged to be part of a cabal that operates through many front organizations to orchestrate significant political and financial events, ranging from causing systemic crises to pushing through controversial policies, at both national and international levels, as steps in an ongoing plot to achieve world domination.[3][4][5][6][7]

Before the early 1990s, New World Order conspiracism was limited to two American countercultures, primarily the militantly anti-government right and secondarily that part of fundamentalist Christianity concerned with the end-time emergence of the Antichrist.[8] Skeptics, such as Michael Barkun and Chip Berlet, observed that right-wing populist conspiracy theories about a New World Order had not only been embraced by many seekers of stigmatized knowledge but had seeped into popular culture, thereby inaugurating a period during the late 20th and early 21st centuries in the United States where people are actively preparing for apocalyptic millenarian scenarios.[4][6] Those political scientists are concerned that mass hysteria over New World Order conspiracy theories could eventually have devastating effects on American political life, ranging from escalating lone-wolf terrorism to the rise to power of authoritarian ultranationalist demagogues.[4][6][9]

I found this quote quite revealing and pretty much espresses my view.

"Stephen Douglas "As long as the Old Covenant was kicking, as long as the Temple was standing and the Jewish cultus was active, the old system was functioning mockingly alongside the New Covenant built upon the shed blood of Christ; that’s what AD 70 was about - filling up the new wineskins and effectively bursting the old wineskins with the new wine. The “New World Order” of Christianity was the direct result of the fulfillment and abolition of the Old one.""

====================
Josephus seems to imply the OC World Order of Moses and Temple Judaism was replaced by the NWO of the NC of Jesus worshiping in spirit.
[Josephus and the 7yr Jewish War is a good read IMHO as well as the vid of it below]

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

History records few events more generally interesting than the destruction of Jerusalem, and the subversion of the Jewish state, by the arms of the Romans. -- Their intimate connexion with the dissolution of the Levitical economy, and the establishment of Christianity in the world ; the striking verification which they afford of so many of the prophecies, both of the Old and New Testament, and the powerful arguments of the divine authority of the Scriptures which are thence derived ; the solemn warnings and admonitions which they hold out to all nations, but especially such as are favoured with the light and blessings of REVELATION ; together with the impressive and terrific grandeur of the events themselves -- are circumstances which must always insure to the subject of the following pages more than ordinary degrees of interest and importance
=============================
"The entire documentary on the Roman Siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD. This massive battle is one of the most stunning of all antiquity. On display were impressive siege works and feats of bravery on both the Roman and Jewish sides as they fought mercilessly over every inch of Jerusalem. Fighting would even make its way up the the inner sanctums of the Temple Mount and witness the destruction of the Second Temple."

My thoughts are a bit out there and not shared by most on this forum. They are governed by three scriptures.
Ecc. 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.KJV
Ecc.3:15 That which is now already has been, and that which is to be already has been; and God seeks that which has passed by [so that history repeats itself].AMPC
Lk.17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

So, there was one world and one language in the days of Noah.It will be again. History repeats itself.

It seems to me that many people don’t see how the Bible prophesies tie together to make a whole coherent picture.

There is no doubt that Daniel and Revelation have many parallel prophesies, that can also be seen; giving more details, in the other Bible books.

Regarding a One World Government: This concept has been around for a long time and many overt and covert movements have promoted it. That such a political entity will happen, led by a charismatic man known to us as the Anti-Christ, is quite clearly prophesied in Daniel 7:23-24 and described in Daniel 11:21-45, paralleled in Revelation 17:12-13 and described in Revelation 13:1-18.

The problem the promoters of the OWG have, is the refusal of the nations to relinquish their sovereignty. We all prefer to do our own thing and with the current world situation, this works OK. There are hiccups with nations that mismanage their economies, but it is against the interests of the IMF and the ‘gnomes of Zurich’ to allow a nation to go bankrupt.

So, in order to force the nations to agree to a OWG; initially 10 regions, governed by 10 Presidents*, they know there has to be some kind of dramatic event to start this process. That planned event is to be a nuke attack in the Middle East. A mini WW3, that will shake up the world and have the beneficial effect of solving the Palestinian/ Israel conflict - they would both be gone!

Iran will proceed with their avowed plans to wipe Israel off the map and the recent developments in Syria, Gaza and Israel, is an indication of how close we are to this attack. They know such an attack will result in their own destruction, but they will do it, as their Satanic religion pushes them into it. Ezekiel 35:6, Proverbs 8:32

However, it won’t be retaliation by Israel or America that will thwart this secret attack by Iran and her allies onto Israel, the Lord will take action and He will destroy them all, Psalms 11:4-6, Psalms 83, 2 Peter 3:7, virtually depopulating the entire Middle East region. Ezekiel 7:14, Ezekiel 30:2-5, Jeremiah 10:18, Jeremiah 49:35, Isaiah 34:5, Zephaniah 1:14-18 & 2:4-5 and many other prophesies about the terrible Day of the Lord’s fiery wrath, the Sixth Seal event.

The rest of the world will mostly survive and as things will be then, agreement on a OWG will be easy. Not quite as planned, but a similar result!

What happens to all the true believers in the Lord? Raptured to heaven? Nowhere does the Bible say that will happen at any time. 1 Peter 3:12 says it clearly; it will be the fiery test of our faith and we must stand firm, believing in His protection.

Then: look up, for our redemption is near. Luke 21:25-28 Jesus will Return soon.

*Google - 10 world regions.
